Sit back and enjoy the music. He did not invent the conga drum but is here playing with greats in NYC and being honored by LP. Thats the deal. I'm sure there a guy in China with faster hands but not in this genre. Respect

Let’s not forget who started it all back in the day. El maestro Ray Barreto and the distinguished Mongo Santamaría. Just to name a few just like Tito Puente was the king of the Mambo with his timbales showmanship extraordinaire.
Also Dizzy's. In '94 i was a student in New England Conservatory, I saw Giovanni do a solo show at the Jordan Hall; first, he started a clave on one conga, then two, then three, then four, then FIVE! I was fascinated to learn that He had studied Joseph Schillinger's theory of Rhythmic, scalar, harmonic, and melodic development: The Interactions of nominal periodicities. Interesting because "Berklee school of Music was started in the period after WWII, as a school where Returning GIs could spend their GI bill money learning to play Jazz and Music Composition based on his Theories (The Schillinger System of Musical Composition).
