Singletrack ride at Interlake SRA. It was around 30 DEG. JT stayed on the throttle in a rocky section and ran his bike into a tree, which ended our ride. Created with Movie Studio Platinum

My only fall off

I did fall one time on the COBDR trip. I tried to stop and my rear tire was up on a rock and my feet didn't reach the ground.

Two day old F800 on Ophir Pass. I know there are some riders that can do some amazing things on these bikes, after this trip, you will never convince me that these are built for anything more than gravel roads.

    Yeah this looks way better than what we found....also do they still allow hunting?...the 2nd day we tried riding there were so many hunters giving us shity looks..lots of shots being fired...definitely seemed sketchy..we didn't hang around long that day

    About how many miles of motorcycle only ( single-track) would you say there is and is it marked/ signed ?...is there typically maps at gate when checking in .??....we rode here once at least 10yrs ago...it was kinda a mishmash of trails...mostly quads and jeep roads...very little single-track...looks a lot better than what we found!...its about a 4hr drive for me so trying to gather info..thanks

    • @SLICKETTS
      @SLICKETTS 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would guess 50-75 mile range of single track only. We typically will ride 30 miles or so in 4-5 hours and not ride the same trail twice. There are trail marking on single track now and they distribute maps at the gate. Also, if you have the polaris ride command app. we can share some tracks.

      @@SLICKETTS nice !!..I will definitely be checking this place out soon ...ill start watching weather for a dry period. I do have the polairs app on my phone...I've never actually used it ...have to admit I'm not super tech savvy... but I would like to learn how to use /share tracks...I could see it being handy...more ride time ...less guessing. Let me know how to get your maps and I'll give it a go! ..thanks

      There are two types of people in this world. Independent people who make good decisions to be able to take care of themselves and dependent people who expect others to compensate for their bad decisions. He had a smaller bike that he could lift and he stopped at a dealership and bought the heavier bike on the way to Colorado to ride. I helped him every damn time he dropped his bike. Otherwise, HE would still be sitting there. Don’t care if I lost you.

    I have been 'that guy' on a GS and it quickly gets to a point where it is not fun anymore. I hate those big rocks. Hopefully, there was an easier way out of there.

    Are you happy with the 501 as a commuter? Trying to avoid the heavy 701.

  • @TR5T
    @TR5T 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Not really made for that. We buy "adventure" bikes that are just street bikes with different wheels and tyres. That kind of stuff requires a real off road machine, about the minimum would be a DR 650 but really minimum. All these "GS"s are good for are semi difficult terrain. Poor guy, buy a bike you don't mind scatching not one as nice as the BMW800.

    The guy on the GS is a great dude. He has been riding a while but this bike was new to him and the big loose rocks on Ophir Pass were a bit of of a challenge. I was on a Husky 501 and the difference in the two bikes on this terrain was just crazy.
