ATP Next Gen Power Rankings: Who Will Rise to the Top in 2021?
มุมมอง 1733 ปีที่แล้ว
Who are the best young tennis players headed into 2021? I break down my list of the top young talent on the tour. Rankings are based more on long term potential and less on what's happening right now. For the first time in almost two decades, it looks like players not named Federer, Nadal or Djokovic have as good of a shot as anybody to win the major tournaments. The current crop of next gen st...
CRUSH SERVES AND USE THIS STRATEGY TO WIN MORE TENNIS MATCHES
มุมมอง 1664 ปีที่แล้ว
We all want to be the guy that blows opponents off the court with the serve. The secret? It's your abs. Practicing a consistent toss is key, but the real power breakthrough comes when you learn how to plant your back foot and use your obliques to explode and uncork up into the ball. Think less swing, more squat. Now that the serve is in, what's next? The stats don't lie, if you make the first t...
The Forgotten GREATNESS of Justine Henin
มุมมอง 1644 ปีที่แล้ว
In 2007 Justine Henin ended the year as the world no. 1 for the third time in four years. Then, she abruptly retired at age 26 with seven grand slam titles under her belt. 2010, after a two-year retirement Henin returns and surges to the Aussie Open final before falling to Serena. After failing to regain form with an elbow injury, she stepped away again and never returned. What will the ultimat...

The depth of his competition far surpasses that of Sampras. He is beating more quality players in slam finals than Federer did when F...
Killer Forehands Step 2: Go Surfing and Transform Your Swing
มุมมอง 5K4 ปีที่แล้ว
In our first video on forehands, we discussed step 1 of your swing, which is early racket preparation. The second step? Turn your shoulders, keep a low and parallel base and stay down throughout your shot. A lot of students struggle because they either stand up with no bend in the knees, or they back peddle instead of stepping forward into the court. Imagine you are surfing, turn those shoulder...
HIT A KILLER FOREHAND WITH THIS SIMPLE HACK
มุมมอง 2984 ปีที่แล้ว
The first step to a great forehand? Do less. Why wind up and get fancy when you can accomplish more power and more control with a shorter recoil? Visualize your swing pattern going from 5 to 10 on a clock, the key is getting your racket to 5 first so everything else is easier. Keep the "triangle" parallel to the ground, beneath your hips, so when it's time to hit the ball you just have to come ...
Focus on the Ball, Not the Score
มุมมอง 484 ปีที่แล้ว
A great lesson we can all learn from W. Timothy Gallwey's classic "The Inner Game of Tennis." How many times in tennis have you harped on an unforced error for thirty minutes? Are you even paying attention to the match you're playing? All that matters is the next ball, not your last forehand, not your next backhand, the ball in front of you right now. Stop looking at the score, it doesn't have ...

A week after breaking down my top young prospects on the men's tour, we move to the WTA tour and the brightest emerging female tennis stars. The end is nowhere in sight in terms of the men's big three, but with the women's tour there are a lot of amazing young players who have already broken through and captured a Grand Slam title. Great video, Erinie. Very informative.
He is mixing half-truths with outright lies. An example of the latter - Federer beats everyone else besides Djokovic now. Therefore, in the mind of this "Ernie", recent wins of Djokovic over Federer are as good as wins against prime Federer. Sorry, not buying it. Then he claims that his opinion is supported "by numbers". This is quite a fuzzy statement. Because tennis careers are not simple straightforward entities. You can bring hundreds of different numbers and stats to argue your point. Who's to say that these numbers you're relying on are more important and more telling than other that you dismiss? An example of this - reliance on head-to-head. They are not playing in the 3-men league. They are playing against the field as well. The more complete statistics your use - the more reliable answer you get. Reliance on small sample (head-to-head) is a clear red flag - we are dealing with a guy with an agenda. Another example - picking certain period of the career and disregarding it in its entirety. Also the clear sign of statistical cherry-picking. Why Djokovic shall be analyzed only post 2010? Because then you point will look stronger? Sorry, "Ernie", this is cheating...
If there was some doubt when this video was made, there can't be any now.
HE IS NOT THE GOAT HE IS THE GOTD
🙌🏼🙌🏼👌🏼
Novak King tenisa 👌💪🎾♥️
Hi Ernie, thanks for your video. For me, when I play tournaments or represent my club team, what is difficult is to plan my day for a lot of things to do. Program my day to get up, eat, digest, warm up, play competitive tennis and recover. I have so much to do, that I do not do what is important. I happened to have three matches in one day and it was not easy to plan my day and prepare to play the semi-finals the next morning. I hope this gives you some suggestions for a new video, which can help a lot of people. Thanks.
Hope it's not true that she quit so that her doping history doesn't get out there, because that's what is widely believed in the tennis scene.
Loved you're Djokovic GOAT video, not because I'm a fan, but because of the great arguments presented there. Calling Serena the greatest tennis player that ever lived kinda destroys it all. She's not even close to Nav, Wills-Moody, Lenglen, Court, Graf, King or Connelly. There has never been a great rivalry since Seles-Graf and women's pro tennis seems cursed since the stabbing of Seles.
Why people cant accept her dominace between 2003 to 2007 the only player who won atleast one grandslam eachyear
Awesome job!
Agree 💯 percent!!!!
Who is the greatest tennis player of all time? Roger is like graceful dancer Rafa is like a brutal boxer Novak is like a lethal martial artist To determine who really is the GOAT, simply look objectively at all the major records, stats and facts, applying rational thinking and logical reasoning. The answer is obvious to the objective and unbiased mind. Keep the wishful thinking, delusional dreaming and misguided emotions out of the discussion. It is important to factor in that Roger has played about 5 years/ 90 tournaments & Rafa has played 2 years/ 35 tournaments more then Novak. Major Records & Stats, Novak Roger Rafa. Advantage 1. Anyone who is honest and objective knows who the best of all time is and it not even close. ) B
Nice . Beyond the imagination comparison between three. Novak on the top
He is simply the best tennis player of all time’s NOVAK 🏆🏆🏆
facts
Novak will dominate for another decade....
You can make an argument that the current era is also weak though? who are the upcoming best tennis players Medvedev & Tsitsipas are probably it, & I'd say their behind Nadal & RF who are bit on the slide imo that's why It's hard to compare because they have all had periods of dominance and chopped & changed along way with being number #1 and getting on a run.
Pretty good list. Maybe Alexander Zverev could be at No. 6. In Spain we're watching Carlos Alcaraz, a very young player who could make a breakthrough in two or three years. Jannik Sinner is another one with a high ceiling.
Coming back to this 👌🚀
I think the GOAT debate comes down to another important aspect: Number of consecutive Grand Slams won. Bill Tilden won 6 consecutive US Opens. Federer had the chance to equal this both at the Wimbledon 2008 final against Nadal and the US Open 2009 final against del Potro. Sadly, Federer lost both these matches. Nevertheless, Federer won both Wimbledon and the US Open 5 times consecutively! Nadal has won the French Open 5 times consecutively. Pete Sampras won Wimbledon 4 consecutive times. Djokovich has won the Australian Open 3 consecutive times. Don Budge and Rod Laver both won the calendar Grand Slam by winning all 4 Grand Slams in the same year. Remember though, the Grand Slams were only played across two surfaces at the time (Grass and Clay). The US Open changed to hard courts in 1978 and the Australian Open changed to hard courts in 1988. Now, like I mentioned above, Djokovich has won the Australian Open 3 consecutive times. This puts him behind Tilden, Federer, Nadal, and Pete Sampras and possibly some others that I don’t know about.
Yes, I agree! Nole is better than Federer and Nadal. He's Serbian and for that reason the people from the west hate him...
Okay, you're a Djokovic fan. I can accept that, but others prefer Federer and I personally prefer Nadal. Federer, as you pointed out, did well to win a lot of majors when Nadal and Djokovic were young. The Djokovic-Federer rivalry in the majors is 11-6 for ND and 4-1 in finals. The Djokovic-Nadal rivalry in majors is 10-6 for RN, 5-4 in finals. Federer is roughly five years older than Nadal, and six years older than Djokovic. I think it's unfair to judge a champion by the quality of his opponents. Federer stacked up on majors without choosing who was on the other side of the net. Of course when Nadal came to the scene Fed was already there, and when Novak arrived there were already two established Monsters. I recall an interview in which Novak complained about his bad luck in having to fight against those two. Then he ditched gluten and went on his spectacular 2011-12 run of victories and majors. I don't think there is any racism involved in people's preference for one of the three over the other two. We just find things that make us like a player more than we like other players. Regarding the GS tally at the end of their careers, don't count any chickens before nthey're hatched, just let them play it out. We can guess that ND will continue to be dominant at Australia and Wimbledon, that Nadal will continue to own the French Open, and that the US Open is up for grabs, but nothing is for sure until you actually get it. Plus, there are the next next gen players. Thiem knows what it is to win a major. Medvedev, Rublev, Zverev and Tsitsipas may soon follow suit. We'll see.
Djoko😍😍😍😍😍😘😘😘😘😘😘😍😘😍😘😍😘😍😍😘😍😍
Good analysis, but the "racism against Eastern Europeans" point is ridiculous. Novak is less popular bcos the other two were at the top first, so their two-man-rivalry was already established, and also bcos the other two are slightly more 'specific' (one has grace and fluidity, the other has power and tenacity, while Novak is more of an all-rounder).
RESPEKT! :-)
You did so well put all together here! Best I've watched/read on the topic, thanks man, appreciate it really!
Finally somebody said it. Ty, well explained 👍
Federer and Nadal would never achived all those titles like Djokovic did without the crowd. That is also the GOAT reason.
Nole's winning consistency is out of this planet
Those are some great tips for the future coaches! Thanks 💪 awesome channel ;) subscribed You might enjoy my channel!
Important info and to the point. Thanks for the video!
Great tips on how to start your career as a tennis coach thanks for sharing!!👊🎾
YES YOU ARE WRIGHT ANDREESCU I LOVE HER
Djokovic has no real weakness on his game ? Did you see his overheads ? They’re ridiculously bad for a player like him Nadal has no variation in his game ? Come on bro, I understand you are a djokovic fan but at least be objective. Also, you absolutely don’t know if djokovic will end Up his career with more grand slam than the 2 others, and the end of 2020 season showed that djokovic is far behind Nadal on Clay and vulnerable on hard. And the hatred towards is due to his attitude on and off court, you cannot say he is perfect in that departure
bruh you can ask all the tennis legends and all the players who is the GOAT and they would say Federer and even Novak and Rafa said Federer so what is your point?
Excellent advice rthanks Ernie looking forward to more from you
Love your analysis, I am a big fan of Djokovic since day one.
Federer the tennis GOAT.
Fantastic assessment!
Good ranking review! My favorite one is shapovalov! He needs to come back!
All 3 of them are goats.... Guys plz stop comparing and start enjoying till we have them playing.. ✌
also the bulk of novak’s wins against fed were from 2014-2020 when fed was 34-39 years old (wimby 14,wimby 15, us 15,ao 16, wimby 19, ao 20, IW 14,IW 15, Rome 15, Cinci 18, 2014 Atp finals and 2015 atp finals) that’s over half of novak’s wins against against a declining federer. Also the times that djokovic beat federer at the 2010 and 2011 us open semi final novak would only win in 2011, whereas in 2007,2008, and 2009 when fed beat novak he won 2/3 losing to a red hot delpo in the final.
federer isn’t the goat but he is atleast as good of a clay courter as djokovic in their primes. Federer reached the french open final 5 times and even beating djokovic on clay is one of best season in 2011, djokovic only beat fed one time in 2012 which was one of feds worst years.
nadal was injured in 2015 lol
Wow.. so good serve!! super power🔥🔥
In my view, even at the Australian has hate in the audience. Thiem hot more support than Novak last time.
🐐
🙉
Nadal has been injured so many times. no doubt in my mind that he'd have more than 20 slams if he hadn't. nadal is the goat
Irrelevant comment, injuries are part of the career, what if djokovic wouldnt be injured what would it be then? Djokovic almost quit from tennis and now still dominates the atp tour
