I am glad you enjoyed the trip. We captured quite a bit of video this past summer through New Mexico to add to the ones previously released.

Catching a train is purely luck. There is some extensive footage in the Route 66 videos in California and Lincoln Highway videos in Iowa.

I definitely agree about the beauty of the area. That section in western Iowa is captured in other videos closer to the Missouri River in the summer.

That part of the country is rich in both history and scenery. Many tend to overlook the area as being just more of the Central Plains.

Thanks for pointing them out. I am a bit of a motorhead myself and spend more time than I should watching auto channels on TH-cam.

That is true, but the more enjoyable drive will always be along the two-lanes.

We will be capturing some video footage from the edge of the Mississippi Delta to Eureka Springs in the fall.

Glad you enjoyed it. It was purely by chance that the gate was open. I believe there was a power line maintenance crew that I passed and that may be why it was open.

The panorama descending into Panamint Valley is one of the beautiful scenes along this route. I really enjoyed the trip through the region.

I imagine it is beautiful in the summer. It was March when this video was captured. The one bonus of capturing video in the colder months is you can see through the trees.

New Mexico and much of the southwest have such great vistas to see along a drive. Check out our latest from New Mexico that was just released.

Thank you for the positive comment. We have just returned from a circuit through the Western U.S. and will have many other routes to explore.

The route to the left goes by some homes before ending behind a transformer station. I would guess that the tank is used for water locally as there is not a large water tower nearby. Oil does not appear to be much of a player in Latexo's history, but oil was produced in the area beginning in the mid-1930s. www.texasalmanac.com/places/crockett

Those towers appear to be communication towers. They are often located near state facilities. U.S. 129 travels from Florida, through Georgia, and into Tennessee. The photo is dated by the source which is provided in the video description.

Many of our videos from the American Southwest have beautiful panoramas since there are fewer forests to block the views. Thank you for watching.

That section of old U.S. 30 is not well maintained. It is only used now as an access road for farms along the Umatilla River. It is not as rough as the Ridge Road in California, but not a whole lot better.
