I was watching some Burt Bacharach specials on TH-cam tonight and when this song came on, I remembered this, especially fantastic performance by Tamra on American Idol and had to immediately watch it several times, getting goosebumps every time! It was definitely one of my all-time favorite Idol performances and also one of the best ever!

I would sing this song from time to time. I learned about it from american idol, but I totally forgot she was the one who sang. She was amazing. The whole package. Perplexed how it wasn’t her and kelly in the end.

All these years later, i find myself revisiting this performance yet again as the singer Tamrya Gray is etched in my brain for a lifetime with her powerhouse vocals. Tamrya's voice is a charka activator! I agree with Simon.... Tamrya is on par with Whitney and others famous... ❤

This was the best AI season to me. The AI season 11 with Joshua Ledet was my second favorite. I stopped watching after that because Phillip Phillips won and shouldn’t have. IMO.

She can sing, boy she can sing. But, in my view, she is over singing….á la Maria Carey etc. If she sang it with less dramatics on every note, I think it would have made it sound better. I’m in the minority here, I know. But Mick Hucknall talked about some of these brilliance singers, simply over singing. For me, it’s not so nice on the ear. But, she has a tremendous talent and should be a star. I wish her well.
