Hobbit Racing
United States
เข้าร่วมเมื่อ 26 ต.ค. 2012
We are devoted to Slot Car Racing in the Home Racing World. Hobbit Racing Park is an MDF-routed, 4 lane, 1/32 scale slot car track. Originally designed and crafted by Scott Kulp at War Eagle River, the track has been relocated and Hobbit Racing Park came to life in 2022. We feature 4 independently powered lanes, Professor Motor controllers, each fitted with a track call button, with racing controlled via Trackmate timing system. We race non-magnet cars, across numerous classes ranging from well known modern era (LMP, GT, DTM, DPi) to classics (Group C, Group 5, CanAm, TransAm) to manufacturer-driven/class specific cars that are known to be competitive with each other (NSR GT, RevoSlot GT, NSR Classics). Popular brands raced are NSR, Slot.it, RevoSlot, ThunderSlot, FLY, Racer Sideways, Scalextric.
1/32 Scale Slot Car Racing: NSR GT & GT High Performance Highlights
We had a great time in the Shire! New visitors to Hobbit Racing Park. Regular club members as well. All in good fun, but we still got after it. The big boys of speed were out today, NSR GT and GT High Performance. These are some of the fastest performers out here, and they do not disappoint when you pull the trigger. Enjoy and thanks for watching.

Scaleauto R-Series BMW M8: From Box to Track
มุมมอง 31214 วันที่ผ่านมา
I'm more and more impressed with each Scaleauto car I acquire. The BMW M8 in the R-series chassis is no different. And what about the average consumer. Is it worth it? Can you save up for an advance line of slot car, say spend what you would for 2 Carrera cars, and instead get 1 Scaleauto, and still have enjoyment right from box to track, even if you have to learn how to tune it later or don't ...
Slot Car Christmas: 2024

I'm so excited to share the haul this year. Wow, just so thrilled to have been able to achieve two of these 'bucket list' cars, one being the Slot.it 1998 Porsche 911GT1 Le Mans winner, as well as the Ninco 2011 Audi R18 Le Mans winner. The newly released Scaleauto BMW M8 is just a beauty too. And I'm going on a journey with the relatively new SRC Porsche 919 LMP white kit. Santa and my family ...

Well I had the pleasure of coming across this beautiful Warsteiner liveried Racer Sideways BMW on eBay. I just had to make it mine. Such a great find that it was never unboxed. We'll take a detailed look at the livery, discuss what the plan is for the tune and take it for a quick spin around Hobbit Racing Park! FLY Porsche 917/10 Jagermeister - Part 3: Tuning
มุมมอง 384หลายเดือนก่อน
Part 3 takes us home on this project! All that great work we did on the interior, the body and the chassis gets us ready to tune. We have some work to review on the motor swap of my choice to ensure good fitment, and then we get that pan filled with weight and get this car on the track. Great burst out of the gate with our choice of 13/36 for pinion/spur, and then we start to play with tire sel...

Well folks, I know I typically do the 'how to', at least how I do it, but I'm taking the opportunity to visit some of the recent additions and work that Hobbit Racing will be doing over the next few weeks. Heck, I even drove a brand new car on camera, looking through the lens to drive it! An interesting adventure and just some impromptu fun. I'm so grateful for the slot car people in my life th...
FLY Porsche 917/10 Jagermeister - Part 2: modeling phase
มุมมอง 4032 หลายเดือนก่อน
Part 2 gets us knee-deep in the modeling phase, from working on that interior to the underside of the detailed motor and exhaust components. All of this adds up to performance, while maintaining the integrity of the modeling aspect when you view the car, whether at a stand still trackside, or on the move through the corners. So join for me the best parts of how we model this car into a great ru...

The FLY Porsche 917/10 - This is where the world of modeling meets 1/32 scale slot cars. The FLY slot cars that are out there are such amazingly detailed models. Some require less tuning work than others, and to be fair, there is also nothing wrong with running them 'box stock'. For those of us seeking the best performance, there is more than one way to go about it for the 917/10, but this is a...
Professor Motor Controllers - are they the perfect home racing solution?!

In this video, I give you my experiences and preferences in regards to the Professor Motor PMTR211. There are SO many different solutions out there for us to control our slot cars, and deservedly so. In my opinion, in the home racing world, when it comes to keeping things simple, yet providing reasonable advanced controls, these are the answer. Tell me what you think. Here's a link as well. Let's go on a Scalextric tuning journey. We'll create a blank canvas for ourselves by removing much that is stock that is mounted that chassis and under those fenders, and really make some key performance adjustments, while changing the motor to something still within Hobbit Racing Park class rules for Trans Am. Just a beautiful car! A wonderfully balanced quick car as well. I'm adding to the s...

Salut my friend super car subscribe subscribe ❤❤🎉🎉😮😮
Good video mate love the sound of the cars 👍
Such a grand track! Happy racing brother 💯🏁
Glad you like it! Thanks 😊 🏎
Bucs fan? Where are you located?
Same place as always, Wesley Chapel. We've just not connected yet from either side of the bridge...lol. We need to!
Same footprint as when Scott had that track? What is the footprint?
Yes, virtually same. 15x8.
Track looks great!! NSR GT has become one of my favorite class!
Thanks Marty. We'll get after it with pace tomorrow, that's for sure!
I got too last year very happy 👍
Just great performers. Thanks
Great video, I may look into Scale auto car. Awesome track you have!
Thank you. Indeed the layout never gets old!
I might have to check those out, nice share my friend 🎉
Definitely. You won't be disappointed. Thanks for the feedback
I have one Scale auto Rs Acura NSX. I love everything about it except the guide. I know I can push it faster if I can get a deeper one. Carrera track has its challenges lol. Any suggestions?
So ironically I like SA guide. I do remove the spring, remounting and cutting to proper height, and slightly rounding the front bottom. I don't want the spring loaded action pushing me out of the slot. my track and others I run, doesn't have many undulating spots that it would help. Plastic track isn't deep, I get it. Have you removed the spring? Or you can maybe try to newer Slot Invasion. Longer, but still fit for Carrera track.
I need to pick up a couple of scale auto this year...good stuff Tony!
Indeed. They do not disappoint.
Nice!!! Love the Ninco!
I'm excited to see if I can make that one as quick as the other Ninco R18 that I did. Thanks for the feedback!
its looking VERY quick and super smooth\quiet....I also have the 963 and though its faster or quicker than the other LMPs its butt is not as manageable
Thanks. It's a dandy!. ...you can tame that 963 with a similar rpm motor only less torque and it will be amazing. Both mine are supererb!
Love the Ninco Lmp 👍🏼
Yup. Me too 😁. The Audi R18 is my favorite of the LMP1 era, hands down. Love all of mine, the NSR, the Slot.it, the other Ninco...this one will be exceptional too! Thanks!
Great additions dude. Congrats. I started liking BMWs more when they made their grills more aggressive. So nice. Scaleauto Rs chassis is so smooth and quiet in my experience but that guide is rubbish on Carrera track lol. Looking forward to seeing what you do with these ones. 🎉🎉
I'm super excited about these Scaleauto ones. My C7R is pretty amazing and both my 963 GTP Hypercars are awesome! Thanks!
Santa was good to you, nice cars🎉my friend 🎉
Thanks. I'll be busy tuning, that's for sure!
Nice cars 👍
Thanks Shane!
Spot on! I've been preaching the same controller for a number of years now.
Glad to hear from you on this. Thanks 😊
Cool car rescue, she’s a beauty 😎😎😎
Thanks Ted!
Salut jolie modèle 👍🏁
Much appreciated. Happy Holidays 😊
I keep overlooking BMW 320 for group 5. Well...put that on the list 😂 Great find dude, congrats🎉
Thanks. Yup, happy he broke up the lot for me to grab this one!😊
Ooh my Warsteiner radar is on! HAHA
Thank you sir. Good to hear from you!
Beautiful car buddy, great buy well done sir 👍👍👍
Much appreciated. Something just called me to it.
Great view of your layout, Tony! What is the footprint?
Hey Marty! The table is 16ft x 8ft.
What a great job on improving these cars. I have a couple of them and they work well. Since they’re Can-Am cars, I’d consider at least putting the back of the spare seat in. Having two seats was one of the few rules of Can-Am.
Much appreciated!
I love your track layout. I have a version of that same mustang fastback and there is something very special about it, it Runs really well on the track. I think I will be picking up that scale auto hertz Porsche pretty soon.
Thanks for the feedback man! You won't be disappointed by the 963. Wow, what a car.
why do you drive the wrong way around the track , do you bow to the King?
Hi there. I'm not sure what you mean. It's a free-flowing track that has always been run in that direction. Now to really dive into your question, I'm thinking about adding the reversal switch to run either direction and I'll certainly put that together in a video. Thanks
@@hobbitracing You're running clockwise like the British, and Europeans in the land of Royalty, ( that put the steering wheel on the wrong side of the car) and those wannabe European idiots in the SCCA, literally the whole world turns counterclockwise like Indy, Daytona, Talladega and Flat Rock! 😂😂🤣🤣
@@scootertrasher1369 ah, I see what you mean. Not that much thought process was put into the directional turns out weighing one versus the other. The track simply presents a gradual hillclimb in the direction we run.
Great series of videos. Loved to see it on your track, which is very nice btw. Ty for the videos! 🏁 💯
Awesome! Yup, paid off for sure.
Great info in this one dude. I learned a few tricks with how to add weight. Thanks for that!!!
Thanks. Hopefully it's replicatable for others. I've been able to do it with 2 different ones now.
I hope you had a great event! I have said this many times, I really like your layout.. enjoy Tony!
@twolinesslotcars Thank you Marty. A great time with the fellas! Hopefully some nice content in some of the corners where cameras were mounted. Editing to come
awe man I missed it. catching up now
@@IrrerasCarrera eh, it was just a test really...never tried that from my phone before. I may experiment with more live stuff. Thanks for watching
Having just got delivery of my new Sideways 720s, I have fallen at the first hurdle... I couldn't get the pin out from underneath of the box base... So looked at this video for the solution. It appears you had the same problem, but omitted to show the exact procedure that I was looking for. So, sorry, no points for that one my friend . I gave up before I broke something, so it is still attached. Did you just pull down hard with the pliers after first lining up the 2 dots on the box base with the pointed part of the plastic bolt head, or as you say, just turned the pin through 90 degrees and pull with the pliers. As you have rotated the pin several times in the video, and not shown how you did it, could you at least show the other end of the pin, to give an idea of how it is SUPPOSED to come out, or show how you actually did it please.
Great point and so sorry you are having the same issue. Let me review it and at least get you a picture. I'm sure it ended up awkward and wasn't capable of showing up close what it looked like but I'll at least try to get you a visual cue for lining things up when you pull. I get it, it shouldn't be that hard, but for some reason this car must have a chassis manufacturing deal with the mold making that opening too small.
@@hobbitracing That would be great, thanks.👍
It is simply a pass thru plastic horizontal bar on the other side of the nut, not like the old group 5 cars that had a plastic screw in them. I believe it could be even wise to dremel tool the nut off if it felt like you can't estimate the alignment is true for you to grab with pliers. Unfortunately, youtube doesn't allow posting pics in comments. If you email me I can share something perhaps
@@hobbitracing I took it down to my local slot car club last night, and someone removed it for me. The "T" on the end of the nut is only 6mm long and the slot in the underside of the car is 8mm long so I can't see why it's so reticent to undo. But problem now solved, many thanks for your help and prompt reply😃👍
same here....i had to cut mine !
Just stumbled upon your channel, very cool. Nice track and cars too. subscribed 👍🏼
@@U_C_Slotcars Excellent. Thank you for the feedback! 😁
Yes, Scott Kulp did it in the BrassAm! And it was one of the fastest in the HRW BrassAm challenge. I am also working on the MR Slot Car Shadow that Ken gifted me. Will have to bring it to Hobbit to give it a shakedown. th-cam.com/video/4pM9CgO6DpQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=RD0azqEy2At9-6ax
@@wareagleriver7980 I had thought so. This is a sweet livery. Can't wait to see the Shadow in motion!
Nice video, love the kids intro. I like the message. I like the track. I like the cars! That gold one really is powerful! Great video!
@TojuRacing-440 Thanks man! 😁
Really enjoyed this video, and for some reason, think I’ll have an extended LOTR trilogy night tonight in the home cinema 🤔🏁
Nice! Thanks!!
Ah a great range of things on the go. The recent Scaleautos (even the GTs) are soooooo torquey - a load of run-in and urethane tyres has tamed a couple, but some are just wild!
Indeed. So I cannot run the Scaleauto cars on my track with a motor that has over 400g/cm of torque. It wouldn't even matter if there weren't classes that required me to change to something else, which I have to, but I'm definitely loving their chassis work and pod improvements. A little birdie tells me my kiddos have an M8 headed under the tree for me. 😎
@@hobbitracing ooh you lucky duck!
Thanks for sharing 👍 that Mustang is a fine looking car. Interesting to see what you do with it .I haven't bought a Scaleauto car yet....I must invest in one 🤔...Harry
Thanks! Check out the Tony DeLorenzo Scaley Camaro video if you haven't. Mustang will be headed in that direction.
@hobbitracing will check it out ...thanks 🤗
Beautiful track.
Thanks Greg!
Hallo , ich habe auch die beiden Scaleauto Porsche gehen sehr sehr gut . Gruß aus Berlin Enzo 😎
Thanks for the feedback from across the pond! I'm thrilled about the 963!
The Mustang at 6:10 is from the Touring Car Masters series in Australia. Usually just sold in Australia, now hard to get in Australia. So a rarer car now.
Wow. You made it even more exciting for me. Thanks for the info.
Where is the scalextric guide conversion available from? Great video looking to do something similar to a scalextric mustang the white Goodwood notchback.
slotcarcorner.com/collections/1-32-guide-adapters. Thanks for the feedback! Best of luck.
Love the painting stand! May do one myself. Keep it up mate By the way, i dont know if you are aware but for some reason people keep confusing our logos 😂
Thanks man! Hey, great sharing of slot cars for all, your place, or mine. 😅
Good video and some very nice cars 👍
Thanks man! Looking forward to tuning.
Sometimes I feel I put too many projects in front of me regarding my slot car journey. Then I watch a video like this and I remind myself there's no rush and all good things come with time. Your track is off the hook. Thanks for keeping my motivation up, I enjoy your approach to the hobby
Much appreciated. It's these kinds of conversations and comments we all need. It's reciprocal. The fun is there and it's okay if it takes time. I have to remind myself about the journey so many days...even though we can hardly wait for that amazing feeling when we've tuned a good one and we're pulling the trigger!
Happy Saturday...still think you have an amazing track . In my next life I Need more space lol😅😂
What up Dafingers?! Thanks for the compliments.
Very nice 🎉
Thank you good sir! 😁
Man, brother, I do hope you don’t slip with that X-Acto knife. It is cleaner than using a Dremel that leaves melted boogers ,I always wonder why we can’t have the nicer cars without paying $100 a car! There just plastic with a $10-15 motor supposedly ! ,lol, thanks for sharing ,Plus fly has nice looking cars! 😊🙌🏎️🇺🇸
