FIGHT REVIEW Of | DICK TIGER vs. Rubin "HURRICANE" CARTER (May 20, 1965) MSG, N.Y.
Carter’s 31st pro bout. Tiger enters the bout with a 50-16-3 record.
Carter - 159 pounds; Tiger - 163
"I saw most of his fights and he was as strong, dangerous and tough as God could make a fighter. When I met him before our fight, he was always a gentleman to me. It showed me an inner strength and integrity about him and when I sized him up physically at the weigh in and added that to it all, I knew this would be my toughest fight. He looked extremely sturdy and solid."
This video features a clip of former sparring partner, and friend of RUBIN....

When you looked at Rubin "HURRICANE" Carter, in his black-velvet robe, with his eyes piercing, and hood covering his skull-shaven head,
Opponents, people in the stands, or through watching films, You can't help but either feel two things......frightened to death by this dark-cloaked character reminiscent of the angel of death or mesmerized by this man's ability to invoke fear in the heart of the devil himself.
However, there was one of Rubin's middleweight prizefighting peers, who could withstand Rube's vicious attacks, and successfully tame the Hurricane, with sharpened skill.

#2pac @2PacOfficialYT There is nothing more threatening to a white supremacist / white racist than a black folk who chooses to think for themself. Who is not gullible, and is also outspoken. That's just one of the bigger reasons why I support 2pac because he was exactly that, he was promoting positive things for the community. Great video bro 🔥💯
The Time The TIGER Tamed THE HURRICANE….
Thanks for the video and information, STR8FIGTAH
2pac the realest 😎😎😎
Salute Fam
Rodrguez did not lose to Griffith 3 times. He beat Emile in their first bout, then lost the next two. All were close--2 superb boxers.
I admire the respect you gave to Salim. Carter was a menacing figure and Salin boxed very well.
Funny how they talk about Bentsen, but the shear power and control on Carter, Hurricane-Carter! He created the whole fight, gentleman, conductor and surgeon, he just needed an opponent in the ring. I love you, and see you
I love you too, my brother.
🔥🥊
😁😁
Giardello Was Too Tough for Carter!
Very durable
🔥🔥💯
Benton was a smoove defender
i luv pac but mobb deep has a special place in my heart no other artists will ever hold❤
I love ‘em equally, Prodigy is the only other rapper I place near or even on 2pac’s level.
It gets no better than The DON 2pac & The Infamous Mobb Deep. For real.
🥊🥊
Man it's tough to say, Rocky is a very inspirational movie.
I was just watching a Rubin Carrer fight and it looks like Tyson may have adopted some of the Hurricanes fighting style . Or am i seeing things .
One of the toughest fighters ever physically and mentally, the man's life was grim at times but he always shared it openly to educate and show the dangers.
My hero for sure.
A hero to anybody in fact.
Man you're the aggressive king! 👑
No one can really hate Tupac Shakur he the realist in the rap game ❤🤞🏽👌🔥🥵
This is a master class in “in fighting “ brilliant work from both men
Ali should have smashed your face...
Liston would’ve smashed Clay’s face, made a sculpture had he not been forced to take a dive.
Clay was a loudmouthed, racist, arrogant clown.
And Rubin Carter would’ve torn through Muhammad Ali broke the stinger off the bumblebee.
@@THEDONSTR8Fightah76 Haha good ones. Ali faced much stronger person in Foreman and we know the rest.
Hi ! I have been watching your channel for a couple of months because i have been interested by Hurricane Carter obviously, and i thought, you paying him tribute was a beautiful thing.. sincerely, for personnal reasons i have myself been paying tribute in my modest way to Boxers such as Carlos Monzon and Jake Lamotta as their sufferung throughout their lives for different reasons did have an impact on me. Lamotta was self destructive, like Marlon Brando in acting, or Diego Maradona in Football. I have personnaly been that way for a long time, and i remain cautious with it. Carlos Monzon is another tragedy in Boxing, coming from the social background he comes from in a very Euro centric Country such as Argentina which have a History of neglecting part of its Heritage .. Monzon did live with Anger and the consequences of him not having an education which could bring him balance .. for example, he did not knows how to uses cutlery properly before his trainer and father figure taught him to .. My comment is already long, but i also share this admiration for tortured souls and beautiful Boxing underdog stories. Farid Salim was not from Sirya but Argentina, like Carlos Monzon. In fact, he was from the NorthWest region where my Grandma and Mom comes from 🇦🇷 and Arab immigration have been important in this region of the country as you guessed from Salim's last name 😊 Farid was very solid in Argentina at a time where the country used to produce important champions and contenders : Eduardo Lausse is another name from Argentina from the 1950's , he was really good and classified #1 at Moddleweight bit was never offered a shot .. i encourage you to watch him beating a Prime and Pre Champion Gene Fullmer ! , he also amassed wins over Kid Gavilan and Ralph Tiger Jones to give the most famous examples .. he should have fought for Bobo Olson's title.
Farid Salim was a Great fighter most definitely, he looked kinda white but was actually Arab like I had guessed by the name, yes. Thank you for letting me know all this. Stay strong. Hurricane is our hero, and mentor. Never lose hope, even though anger is a very destructive feeling that is very hard to tame.
@@THEDONSTR8Fightah76 Ahah yes Farid looked White indeed, but if you like the Hurricane's style, i am sûre you would like an equally agressive Eduardo Lausse from Argentina .. He was White lol and very Good in his time. So much depth during the 1940's - 1960's at MW , one have countless of fantasy fights to think about .. I just wanted to share à positive view on your overall content, i understand from an outside point of view, being << attracted >> to some personalities for personal reasons, feeling might not be easy to understand, but those Men have endure so much, sometimes it brings hope like you say to be able to have an important figure to evolve .. and i do firmely believe Men who have a tendency to auto sabotage themselves are very strong but also very vulnerable, their capacity to continue fighting despite all and their sensibility is what make them spécial.. there is no sich strength without sensitivity in my humble opinion. Sorry for my poor English, take care and i will be back on your channel 😉😇
I agree, vulnerability is only what real men can do. Tough guys, guys who think they are tough, are actually afraid to be vulnerable. Vulnerability is not weakness either. Only a coward would take kindness for weakness.
Adair beat holly mims by tko .. the one and only ko loss in mims career

He ain’t even mention them in Hail Mary
Prodigy liked the song though.
@@THEDONSTR8Fightah76 bro these NY rappers swear they love pac just to not appear as haters, but don’t know anything about his catalog, expect for all eyes on me and hit ‘em up
It don’t matter, with Prodigy. Whatchu know about Prodigy. Plus N.Y. Rap is better. 2pac had a N.Y. Sound, and so did the OUTLAWZ.
Prodigy would say that beef he had with 2pac he would’ve squashed it with 2pac. And that they’d be on the same team.
@@THEDONSTR8Fightah76 I bump mobb deep hard don’t get me wrong. Start of the ending is one of my all time favs. I’m just being real
Word
Rest In Peace. My favorite rapper.
Prodigy was a real one.
th-cam.com/video/ii89DRRJygg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=5Zj1isJM6NY3b3OY My documentary on this fight
I absolutely agree with Carter on the 9-6 score. He won the first 7 easily and then Joey won the 8th then Carter won the 9th and 10th and the last 5 rounds were close but definitely Joey's. Carter got robbed of this fight because of racism and it's an open secret how bad Philly home town decisions are. If you don't think Carter won you're either blind, racist, or both.
th-cam.com/video/ii89DRRJygg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=5Zj1isJM6NY3b3OY
I agree, check this video out brother.
I'm only at the second round and it looks like the Carter lost that one. I guess in your world that makes me "blind, racist, or both."
Hurricane was the aggressor so yes, you are blind.
Bro can you make a video about Cleveland Williams
Love Cleveland Williams 💯💯
I have made one actually

I just saw this again now, and man it really hit. The hardships, and generational trauma you've went through and instead of bitching about it, you jumped over it and made this video. Inspirational!
It’s only the boldest who refuse to be a victim. I refuse to be bitter about it, instead I use it as fuel for my ambition. I come from barely a thing, and I also won’t take for granted the good things in life. Life is a beautiful thing, it’s a gift. Just like Rubin would say.
To this day, I am building a never give up story.
Brilliant D 🎉
