Spermatozoa with DIPLE black lens
The most frequently asked question is about the imaging of sperm cells.
In this short video we show the level of details achievable to see a #spermoatozoa cell with DIPLE black lens and common smartphone.
About #size, the cell head is in the range 3-5 x 2-3 micrometers, while the #flagellum is 45-60micrometer long, with diameter decreasing from 1 micrometer near the head, up to about 0.2 micron at the terminal filament.
With DIPLE you can distinguish the flagellum for almost its whole length, thanks to its optical resolution well below one micrometer.

    Ciao , io ho uno smartphone huawei con display mezzo rotto insomma il touch fa un po’ quello che gli pare. Ho anche un pc huawei . Per collegarli attraverso lo screen mirroring, che mi servirebbe per salvare il salvabile dal telefono, mi basta solo collegarli attraverso cavo oppure devo anche attivare Bluetooth da telefono?

    What is the maximum possible magnification? Is it possible to observe a Gram stain of the bacteria? Do I have to put oil in it to be able to see it? A thousand thanks

      With DIPLE you can get magnification up to about 1000x; most important, the optical resolution is of 0.7-0.8 micrometers, so you can see some bacteria (even if not stained). Non need of oil; sometimes the use of the lens in water immersion can be useful.

    Is it possible to buy the holder without the lens? I have a Diple with all 3 stages already but this looks cool.

      Hi! Diple Lux has its specific lens, different from the 3 lenses in the DIPLE kit for bright-field microscopy. Its working distance is a bit longer and also the frame is different; for this reason we do not offer its single components, but only the whole system.

      Ciao, il blu di metilene e la tintura di iodio vengono usate generalmente in campo medico e sono piuttosto diversi dai classici coloranti alimentari. Di solito questi ultimi non vengono utilizzati in microscopia, però puoi provare a fare qualche esperimento, magari usandone piccolissime quantità all'inizio.

      Ciao, i kit DIPLE hanno prezzi che vanno da 53€ a 139€ (iva inclusa); tali kit si differenziano nel numero di diverse lenti presenti, del tipo di stage che supporta il vetrino ed eventuali accessori. Il kit utilizzato nel video è il più completo (il modello DIPLE BF) da 139€. Molte di queste osservazioni possono comunque essere fatte anche con altri kit DIPLE.

      @@SmartMicroOptics SALVE, io ho appena controllato nel sito e mi ha trovato NEW Full Gift Pack a 199 euro...che per carita' è sempre conveniete e assolutamente da comprare, ma vorrei sapere se è il massimo che si puo' trovare nel sito. perche avevo intenzione di comprare un microscopio di circa 300 euro, pertanto volevo capire bene se valesse la pena inevce acquistare questo. grazie

    sui 2000 ingrandimenti si notano i virus? o meglio con obbiettivo a 100x + oculare da 20 e l'immersione in olio dell'obbiettivo 100nm si riesce a scorgerli?

    I noticed that the production fine stage diple has a slightly different stage to the DIPLE used in some of the tutorial videos. How come the one in the videos did not become the production product?

      Ciao, grazie mille. In realtà, 1200x sono troppi per vedere micro-organismi. E' un ingrandimento adatto per vedere batteri. Se si tratta di un microscopio USB in cui si dichiara fino a 1200x, allora si tratta di molti meno ingrandimenti reali, e dovrebbe andare bene per vedere alcuni microorganismi. Dipende però anche da come è l'illuminazione del suo sistema

      Ciao, cellule (per esempio anche globuli rossi) e fino ad alcuni tipi di batteri. Per i virus non si usano microscopi ottici, sono troppo piccoli.

    I can't figure out why: if this thing is SO good, why on earth can't I find anything when I google it? Like, I've wanted to buy for almost a year but I can't find anything reputable. Which is honestly frustrating because I want to trust y'all but $160 is $160.

That's the kind of stuff I'd expected to find if the product was legit but all I was getting was small blogs/nothing citable and then the results petered out into spam! I REALLY hope this thing takes off! I went ahead and purchased the black+fine stand package and the lux lens on indie after posting my comment. Figured it might at least be entertaining even if it didn't meet the standards lol I look forward to using it! (like a kid on christmas lol)

      Sì ci sono ma non provengono dalla bocca. Con ogni probabilità sono ciliati rimasti nella pipetta, o sul vetrino. Il sistema ha tre lenti diverse: la lente Red (35x), la lente Grey (75x) e la lente Black (150x).
