    Hey mate, Really like your videos but I think you can massively increase the speed of your calcs. For example, I would have created a 3D polyline along the centreline alignment string and then parallel that string to channel left and right for the kerb and your profiles. You can use a free tool called CadTools that have a 3D polyline offset function to do both vertical and horizontal offsets. Then you can just stake out the vertices of those lines. No need to export to excel in the way you do. You can import dxf into your machine (believe you use Leica viva or maybe captivate) for field software. This creates the node points for you on the poly lines. I would also have the main design in the background (not importing all of the lines) you can attach a dxf file to a job. You can also just export normal points to a dxf and import those into the machine. No need to place those blocks. You can also edit the Z value of those points in the properties tab. If you want to do that for your TP’s etc. Also you can use the measure command within cad to create nodes along a poly line at set distances. Divide also does by number of segments. If you are just using autocad for all your calcs and processing i would highly recommend CadTools. Has a heap of great functionality and it’s free (you can donate to the guy and recommend doing so - I have no connection to him I just really like the software). If you use a survey package (n4ce, tbc etc) you could also do this exponentially quicker. Apologies if I’m telling you how to suck eggs but just wanted to comment and help out. If you want any help with the above I’m more than happy to assist and share. Just let me know. TJM

    Hi, Thanks for the video. I am looking to get more precise location within a foot . Do you know how to increase the precision of the coordinate points? I am using the geolocation tool and already inserted a map. I am adding Mark positions from the geolocation tool which record their location in properties. but I need to go to the centimeter level for locating points on site.

    Anyone have problems when they set the laser direction for the groundworker it ends up going out a few pipes in. I try explain that if you give them the line to match the laser with my pogo/staff, then eventually it will go out as it is over a short distance. Am i correct? Or unless i set laser on top of manhole, how do i eradicate this problem?

    Hello If I were to back lay would you swap the math and do the night invert first ?? Kind regards

    • @mahengineering4935
      @mahengineering4935 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello!! Yeah absolutely. So in the example; G% = ( (115.461 - 114.057) / 31.802 ) x 100 ..... Will give you a positive number.. you could just go with this and make sure you set it to a minus (-) on the pipe laser.. the gradient won't change. But if you want to see this mathematically you can swap around the inverts in the equation so; G% = ( (114.057 - 115.461) / 31.802 ) x 100 .... Will give you a negative percentage ( - 4.415%) Hope this helps
