Custom Firewood Processing- Is it worth it?
Aww cute a cord of firewood
I burn poplar all the time and don't mind it at all. If it's what you have and what you can get, go for it. I live off grid in Canada so I can't afford to be a firewood snob! I sell firewood as well and poplar is either hated or loved by people. Some request it, some don't want anything to do with it
@@ChampionFirewoodManitoba I agree if close by it’s a good choice. It’s funny with people, main thing have it nice and dry. We sell a lot of it for people camping in the summer.
@@gagerawluk2949 for sure. I stock poplar mainly for the few people who request it. We do sell more of it to people who run out of wood in winter and in that case they'll take anything
I used to deliver firewood in the back of a Van before I I finally got my dump trailer
@@glowingfirewood7527 gotta work with what you got, everyone start somewhere. The Dump trailers save so much time.
Plenty of poplar over here in East Central Minnesota! Dried correctly it is a good wood. Good fire starter too with the paper birch. Thanks for sharing!
Agreed! Most people don’t dry it enough then say it’s junk and makes to much ash. Birch bark my favourite starter.
Only real manitobans know the value in white poplar aka Manitoba poplar . Stay away from the black poplar but white is excellent fuel.
Same here in saskatchewan I cut green healthy poplar split and stack it and its good in a year.
Saskatchewan has some nice poplar, stacked when split green I find it goes hard nice wood.
What is the cost of this kiln?
I bought used in Michigan for $30,000 five years ago I think the brand new ones use to be around 75 , currently I think about 120-130 new
Куда идут все эти дрова,на продажу?
Thanks
If poplar is the low hanging fruit and the only thing availible, then yes. Its beats having nothing.
Thank you for being an honest seller and producer of firewood gage. Too many people lie about this stuff, giving less than they advertise and selling green wood advertising it as fully seasoned. As someone who primarily uses firewood as a supplemental source for heating, I really need to use dry wood, and too many times ive tried people lying about it in their ads and I wasn't able to use any of it for the whole season.
It’s a big problem, a lot of my customers who burn wood for main heat buy in the spring stack at home then they know there good for winter. Some people don’t have the space to store it all though. The newer stoves and furnaces it’s super important to have dry wood they can’t operate properly without it.
it's Quaking aspen
Your a hardcore tree person if you know that.
Popple not popular
And not good for cooking food over I heard. We do have some older birch trees where the base does look like quaking aspen though. Good eye @thederek27
yep
I have a 2011 model SC 12. We love it.
There a great machine, very well built , with the prices of new ones I just wish I would have bought a sc-14 back then
I bought this from the original owner last year. It had 92 hours and like new. I paid 9250.00 for it. At the Paul Bunyan Festival I showed the Dyna reps pictures of it and they told me if I were to sell it to ask around 15 thousand
Wow that’s a great deal! Such low hours that’s a rare find, enjoy your machine. I want to get to that show one year also.
