AWVR 777 LEADER! CP 2-135 Extra Passing Through Streetsville | 10/20/2024
Today, I set out for Streetsville after noticing on the ATCS Monitor that a train was en route from Hamilton. I was uncertain if it would pass through Guelph, which led me to suspect it might be CP 238. However, the switch at Streetsville had been thrown, but the signals remained red, and since CP 238 doesn't operate on Sundays, I deduced it could be CP 237. After a brief five-minute wait on Ontario Street, I headed to a nearby Dollarama. Upon exiting, I noticed another signal had been set for Streetsville, leading me to believe it was CP 236. Returning to Ontario Street, a friendly Maintenance of Way (MOW) worker informed me that two freight trains were approaching, which turned out to be the ones I had anticipated: CP 132 and CP 135, with the latter being an extra run designated as 2-135. The MOW crew also updated me on 2-135's location, which was near Milepost 14 by Cooksville, Milepost 17 by Erindale, and was approaching shortly. The locomotives powering these were AC4400CW Number 9777, known for its role in the film "Unstoppable" as AWVR 777, and KCS SD70ACe Number 4119, marking my first sighting of an SD70ACe.
Remarkably, the MOW worker even ensured my view for CP 236 was unobstructed by instructing another worker to clear some nearby ballast.
Ultimately, despite my initial intention to observe CP 132, I decided to end my day early.

In 2019, VIA 83 was captured passing through Lorne Park Road, led by a VIA P42DC adorned with the 40th Anniversary Wrap. Unfortunately, the specific number of the P42DC was not noted. To date, this remains my sole recording of a VIA 40th Anniversary Wrap unit, as all P42s have since transitioned to the "Love the way/la voie qu'on aime" livery in 2020.

Can we meet one day for Amtrak 63 at Stavebank that's if your interested?
Also to estimate when 63 will come to the RR crossing. Calculate the distance between Port Credit and Oakville. Subtract the distance between Lorne Park and Stavebank. Then a train is estimated to arrive at Oakville for 7:30 PM to Toronto. So I'd have to get there by 7pm lol
Amtrak 63/VIA 98 Arrives at Oakville at 7:19 PM, It would pass around 7:26 I believe, since it passes Lorne park by 7:23 PM and port credit is pretty close to port credit. note: that these times I have said are if It is not late/delayed.
Actually Lorne Park is 2 mins from Stavebank and 4 Mins from Clarkson Rd
I feel like we should meet there one day...
