I’ve just bought one of these upon fitting when I screw it all the way on I can’t seem to get into reverse but as soon as I unscrew it once I can? Anyway know how I can get around it?
Not too sure mate. But when you unscrew it once is it loose or is it still tight? If its still decently tight it may be ok to keep it like that if it engages reverse. To be honest it really shouldn't affect getting into reverse though. Let me know how you go! 🙂
It’s very loose to be honest is there any thing I can get to slightly raise the gear knob so it can clear reverse?
Nice for sound but you will take hot air in to the engine. Better use a sportfilter in a box. I have seen the test results. So for sound, yes, very nice but not for performance...
100% agree this mod isn't the right one if you're looking for performance. I was mainly going for sound but I may try create an enclosure of some sort so it doesn't get the hot air in the engine! 😄

Did you have a blow off valve installed before the air intake. I can hear a small flutter before you fitted the intake id love that sound from mine!
No I didn't have a bov. I believe the newer engines (post 2019) don't have a bov. Its just a recirc valve on the newer models.

Better with the 1.6 4 cylinder 1.6. Mk7.5 , far stronger engine & more safely tuneable , :-) 2017 were the last of those , and in my view as a mechanic and life long enthusiast ,they were the best and most reliable ST,s , but all are very fun cars and ones that Ford with their 'Fast Fords spot on as they,ve always been good at that , since the Mk1 Lotus Cortina !! .
Would this car have a wet cambelt because that would not be good?
These have a chain I believe instead of a belt.
Nope! These (1.5 ST) have a dry cam belt on the 1.5 dragon engine. No chain, no wet belt - as on the 1.0 ecoboost.
In the real world, the ST is one of the most fun cars you can buy and is great value for money. Personally, I only use Sport or Race as I want even cylinder wear. I've still averaged 7.0/100km over 15,000km.
Yep agreed! I mostly run sports/race mode most of the time.

Yeah doing the conversion it surprised me, works out it’s 43mpg(U.K.) , I got mine 2 months ago and I’m hitting 36mpg lol, I suppose it’s just because it’s winter here and I haven’t done much motorway driving since I’ve had it but makes me happy I’ll be able to bump it up some when the warm weather comes.
Yeah it's actually been really good! I do frequently use the highway for travel which helps bump the figures down. But for the most I try to have fun around town and not worry about fuel consumption. :)

Great follow up, I am glad you're still enjoying your Fiesta, it's just a wonderful little package that can do it all. Have you thought about getter bigger brakes at all? Also are you worried about what mods would add to your insurance bill? Any thoughts would be great. Cheers.
Thanks mate. Yeah I have thought about brakes, I can feel the pads starting to go and need replacing soon. Most likely I'll get just pads for now, don't think I'll be using it hard enough for bigger rotors. Not too worried about insurance it should still be the same costs. I was more hesitant on the warranty side of things for as any basic performance mod will void it. In saying that just got something from the UK!

I hate the start stop, like driving mode, having to be changed every time. Both can probably be defaulted to what I want in forscan, so that’s an option. Other than that, my 8.5 is awesome. Great car.
Yeah agree if there was a way the car remembered your last preference for start stop that would be good. I'll probably be getting forscan soon so will have a look into it and see what else we can change in there.

Nice! I am planning to buy the Fiesta to. How does the launch control work?
That's exciting! It's pretty simple, in the centre menu in the instrument cluster select the digital Speedo then from there you go to settings then enable launch control. Hold the clutch, foot down on the accelerator and you'll see it hold at 3k rpm then you dump the clutch and that's it! 😄

Have you check your driveshaft seals they will eventually leak, I had them done twice by Ford. There's also premature leak in there rear shocks. My ST is 2019 only 22k these are the frequent problems with this vehicle. Also at about 80k the engine wet belt cloggs up so it can blow up hence it's nickname in the motor trade Eco boom.
The mk8 ST is using a timing chain, so no need to worry about clogging. I believe the 1L ecoboost is more commonly known as the “ecoboom”, do to the wet belt clogging in the engine.

@@mrevosanthe oil pump is driven by a wet belt (on very early STs it was gear driven), you should check that so it doesn't clog the oil feed

I usually leave it on classic chrome and edit after on Lightroom sometimes add some 'modern' presets in some scenarios.

Yeah I've been looking and it's super hard and expensive too. I was thinking to see if it's possible to get the one from the "edition" version from the UK. Also I've heard the mk7 fit the mk8.

Owner since 2020. I don't have the performance pack (shock horror). But it still handles beautifully for a FWD car. I recon I do get some more understeer then I would with the PP but even on spirited drives I haven't gotten really out of shape yet. The 3 pot is just a gem. I absolutely adore it. It is refined enough to be really usable as a daily but also has just enough power to keep me entertained when the moment strikes. I also love the way it looks. I have a three door one and I think in that spec it looks the best. I feel really lucky to have been able to buy this car as cheaply as I did (19000€ for a 2019 model with only 5000km on the counter ). Granted, it is the lower spec one but I have had so much fun with this car already that I have no real regrets on that front. I am pretty sure that I'm going to go the distance in this car and not sell it. It's the last of a breed of cars that always appealed to me. It's sad to see them go.
I wish we got the three door one they look amazing! We only got one trim, the ST3 I believe which isn't too bad. I think Ford have done a great job overall on all grades making sure everyone doesn't miss out on the fun!
The pedal position is the main thing for me. I cannot heel and toe in it. The second thing is the paintjob on my car (Agate Black). It looks good at a distance but up close I can already see that it won't age gracefully (2019 model). Another small thing is that whenever I have a back seat passenger and they get out, the rear seatbelt warning keeps coming up until I restart the car. Thirdly the overall interior quality is all over the place. I haven't got rattles or squeaks yet but some of the hard plastics are beginning to show that "hard plastic after a couple of years of use look". Lastly, the Recaro seats that are a bit tight for my fat ass.
Yes agreed the heel and toe position is a bit hard on the road. It's ok on track. So far my interior is holding up ok but time will tell! 😄

I'm glad I did a rear motor mount upgrade on my mk8 FiST to stop the wheel hop. Next step is a hot side boost pipe to unleash spool noises

@@mrevosan I went with Mountune over Revo as I also picked up a few other pieces at the same time. Noticeable NVH when taking off under 1600rpm though so blipping the throttle on take off's now.
