I like how you stress the importance of letting off the gas while being marshaled. My biggest pet peeve that marshals do is just lazily kick the car, this is very informative, Scotty Ernst said it best, if you didn’t wreck, you wouldn’t have to be marshaled in the first place.

How long has deer run been open. I live a half mile away and never heard anything about it. I normally run loco joes. It's an hour and a half away give or take where as deer run is less than 5 minutes from my door. I find it hard to justify going to wva when i can race in my back yard. Its a great location and having a campground on site is even better. The sad thing is that i never heard of this track until i seen Garrett Williamson at sheetz in Mt Holly springs and made a comment on his custom works shirt. When i asked about where he raced at, he told me deer run. Puzzled, i said hell thats in my back yard and had no clue. Word of mouth is great and so is physical advertising. Do you race high bite or loose dirt? What days do you race? Is there an onsite hobby shop or is it a bring your own and hope for the best setup. Is there power onsite or do you need a generator. If you bring in crowds your track will survive but it needs to be advertised better.there are a boat load of peoplpe in the area within 5 miles that had tracks pre covid that are still looking to race that would patronize your track. I know of 3 off-road tracks that people had that would come to get back to racing. Alot of people have equipment locally and no place advertised to race it at. Advertise on more than facebook and racers will come. Not everyone is on facebook so you could be getting more drivers if you brached out more with your advertising. Alot of people just dont race because they dont know about these tracks. Advertising is everthing. Sad thing is that Jeff and Gary never said anything about your track to me and i talk to them when i go to loco joes. Promoters should also help other tracks advertise to keep this sport alive.

Great video, regardless at the end of the day fun should always be the top priority. I get the competition aspect, this hobby relies on the influx of new people whether they are kids or adults. Drama tends to steer people away even if it’s just one bad experience.

The attitude you speak of is not limited to PA. Here in Michigan we have it as well. We have about twenty oval tracks and 8 or so off road tracks. They are split in to two groups and continue to argue about who does races better!! As a racer I just want to race my toy car have fun, and go on to different track and have fun!!!
