Upgrading and Tuning RC Shocks: Deerc 9201e
Many RC's come with cheap plastic springy shocks. Upgrading improves the quality and performance of your RC car. We upgrade and tune the shocks on the Deerc 9201e. Here are the shocks I use. They are about 5mm taller than stock, and raise the chassis about that much.

what type of heatsink are you use for brushless sg116 motor
It's a plain aluminum one. I recycled it from one of scrapped spare parts cars. You can get them an Banggood or AliExpress. Just specify your can size.
Thanks for this video my beast max definitely needs this upgrade
Welcome. Let me know how it goes.
Cool looking care and informative video!
Thanks. Please stay tuned for more.
What size are those? I’m in need but don’t know how long I need
65mm. But don't trust me. get one of these. ;-) www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_id=355884654997&_nkw=Machinist+Ruler+6+Inch+Stainless+Steel+Precision+Metric+and+Imperial+3+Pack
Ok nice
Thanks.
What Oil did u use Shocks look nice
Thanks. I did not have to change the oil in these shocks. They came with the perfect damping force. Not always the case, though. Depends on the shock size, manufacturer, and scale of your car. I am currently using this brand in various weights. I blend them to achieve thickness I want to fit my budget. (350, 600, 2000, 3000). Your mileage may vary! www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p4432023.m570.l1313&_nkw=Core+RC+100%25+Pure+Silicone+Oil+For+Shocks%2FDiffs+100CST+to+500%2C000CST&_sacat=0
Thank you for the video. I am going to do the same with my Deerc as well. I changed out the servo for a 3-wire and a Dumbo receiver and Transmitter. I also added a new ESC. Lots of fun, plus I've learned a lot since I'm new to the hobby.
Thanks for your feedback. I'm glad you are enjoying the hobby. Stay tuned. I'm planning videos to go deeper into the technology, but from a beginner's or youth point of view.
Thanks for explaining cvd vs. dog bone. I never understood it before. Very thorough.😊
Thanks for the feedback!
need to get me one of them helper arms
Yep. Helps alot. Get a small desk vice while you are at it. I purchased one from Tractor Supply after I poked a screw driver through my thumb.
I didnt know Gustavo Fring was into RC cars
I hide in plain sight. Same as you.
Do you have links to the parts? Also on the esc , could i just push the switch to bound it to a new controller
I am currently working on a Part 5 that will have the updated links. That being said, here is the motor/ESC I'm using and an updated servo. The controller is the Dumbo RC. You need the Dumbo RC receiver as well. It syncs automatically. www.banggood.com/Surpass-Hobby-F540-Brushless-Motor-60A-ESC-LED-Program-Card-Combo-for-1-or-12-1-or-14-RC-Crawler-Car-Vehicles-Model-Spare-Parts-p-1749052.html?cur_warehouse=CN&ID=6296131&rmmds=search www.aliexpress.com/item/1005006087702170.html?spm=a2g0o.productlist.main.1.3ff93e675BW0Yn&algo_pvid=fa58699c-379b-4827-984f-cc46691d37e8&algo_exp_id=fa58699c-379b-4827-984f-cc46691d37e8-0&pdp_npi=4%40dis%21CAD%2120.68%2117.36%21%21%2114.38%2112.07%21%402103277f17332368835415391e51f6%2112000035671734793%21sea%21CA%210%21ABX&curPageLogUid=jHk2z2QHgZ4O&utparam-url=scene%3Asearch%7Cquery_from%3A
Which servo did you end up using as the replacement?
Thanks for your question! I used an Injora low-profile 14kg servo, injs014. Works well, but as you see in the video it was a custom fit. I discovered that another RC I have, the MJX Hyper go 14210 has a 3 wire servo that fits the 9201E! I'm using that servo on my next car. Stay tuned! duckduckgo.com/?t=ffab&q=Injora+low-profile+14kg+servo%2C+injs014&atb=v422-1&ia=web duckduckgo.com/?q=MJX+Hyper+go+14210+servo+upgrade&t=ffab&atb=v422-1&ia=web
@ thanks. Just ordered one
Considering getting into the hobby with this very model. I must have watched at least 100 videos and all the part names were a bit confusing. This is a perfect video because I'm learning about the model I want to get AND learning the general anatomy of the platform. Thank you. Bless. ✨🙏🏾✨
Thanks alot for your comment. I highly recommend this model as an entry into the hobby for teens and adults who are ready to tinker. It's cheap, parts are plentiful, and fun to upgrade. For younger children I recommend the 1/18th scale first.
Dude! Awesome videos! PLEASE attach the links to everything you bought. My brother has one of these and we want to do a build similar to this but don't know what to buy. Please attach the links, it would help oodles. P.S. I subscribed, awesome vids! ;)
Thanks! I am working on the next video in this series. I'll have the parts in that one. Stay tuned!
👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿💯 I love this!
Thanks!
Learning loads from you’re videos to upgrade my skills and build confidence ty #themasterof knowledge 😂
Thank you for viewing and your comment!
Great videos. If I upgrade with a brushed 60amp esc and keep the motor will I see an improvement.
The ESC does not change the KV of the motor, so probably not. In my next video I'll share what ESC/motor combo is currently working for me.
Great video So hard to find videos like this which explains in detail.Thank you
Thanks for the feedback. Working on the next update to be posted soon!
I’m working on this with a brushed motor upgrade now. Learned a bunch from your vids!
Thanks. Feel free to ask questions. Also share your tips. It can always be done better!
Never knew how handy the torch could be! Good editing, good tutorial ty for this!!!
Thanks for the encouragement. I first saw the lighter torche used on the Discovery Channel goldrush show. He used it to solder wires in a backhoe.
What pitch did you use for pinion gear? I'm doing a DEERC 210E and need pinion info🙏🏽
I kept with the stock 22 tooth pinion. I kept the gearing the same, using the stock differential. Stay tuned. I'm uploading a follow-up video on its performance with the latest motor/esc combo!
bro you deserve more love
I appreciate the complement. Everything takes time. Uploading a follow-up video soon!
bro you deserve more love and more subs your awsome ❤❤
Thanks for the encouragement!
I just subscribed to your channel. Being new to the rc hobby, I learned a lot. On to part 2. Thanks.
Thanks for subscribing. I recently swapped out the motor and esc and its running great. Planning a follow-up video to put out soon.
Awesome, this feels like something that can be on PBS 😁 I feel like a kid being informed on all this lol
Glad you enjoyed it. Stay tuned for more!
Good job. Very informative. Thank you.
Thanks for watching!
