First observation is that the author needs to come up with original character names. Sparhawk is the main character in two trilogies by David Eddings.

Mark Barnett, does voice acting in some of my favorite military sci fi audio books. The 'Lost' series among others. This is another treat.

With the creation of technology that can fuse peoples minds with machine's by Tesla and various other cooperations development of similar "innovations" (their calling it the "4th Industrial Revolution") the technology for having a "updatable humanity" already exists! Its only a matter of how to coerce or trick the people into voluntarily getting the implant. The World Economic Forum have already publicly stated their intentions to put chips in our brains that will allow them to read our minds (they left out the "updates" part though) and link our thoughts to our bank accounts via a digital currency that can be turned off or programed to not allow the user to spend their own money if we think, say or do something they don't like! Far from being "Sci-fi" this is a fairly accurate prediction of where Earth is going if her people dont wake up!

Great, we need more like this, I don't know of this is AI or a human voice actor but in either case, it's preferable to the clearly robotic voices in some of this stories that totally kills the enjoyment of the story.

Wasn't sparhawk a Michael Moorcock character?

The narrator has a nice voice and is good, but not really a good fit to the material. He needs more grit.

I love good voice actors like this. Pays attention to the story, and makes the appropriate intonations, inflections, and rhythm. As opposed to mechanical readers of the human or machine type who don't give the story any thought at all. And then the characters! Distinct and believable voices for dozens of characters. Amazing. If I was a reader, that's all I'd be. I would have to stick to single character stories, or textbooks. I'd be decent at that.

There is no one to cheer for. Every character is flawed in some way and contributed to the demise of humanity.
