Mill Snowed In
December 14 2024 mill snowed in. Over 6-7’ of snow since November 30/24. Hard to keep up with it. Roof of mill has been shovelled off once already of over 4’. Won’t be milling anytime soon.

I would pick up and leave. I don't like the cold.
@@templehillsawmill1748 we think the same way sometimes! The older we get the more we don’t like the snow lol
Nice setup.
@@templehillsawmill1748 thank you so much!
You have a bit of snow…lol
@@Railfan6675 ya a little bit lol over 5’ total before that storm was over.
That sawmill is incredible. I would love to see that in action in person. Great video. Subscribed
@@Mainelyoffgrid thanks, maybe when the snow melts lol, a little snowed in right now. Subscribed back!
Nice sawing, nice lumber as well…..that carriage pulls back hard for ya …..thanx
Great mill videos. You should do a video on the Caterpillar engine.
@@Railfan6675 thank you. I have more to post, just summer is too busy and now shovelling snow here in Ontario! Yes he is going to do one on the cat, we like listening to it run! Cat has its own sound
@ I also have a Cat D318. Great engine. Cheers from the east coast (NS)
@ cool. We will have to look up your channel! Cheers
Awesome 😎 Tractor
@@lylefoster3235 thanks it’s my John Deere AR 1952.
Unfortunately I lost you video? What type of power are you using…thanx good job!
Thanks! We have a 318 Cat powers the mill
Poor camera coverage
Thanks for comment! Just using my iPhone, and also working the other end! Better ones are coming thanks
New subscriber here, nice mill here, am originally from Maine, the only mills I have any experience with were Lane mills, the last one was a #1 Lane mill, compared to what I see here the Lane was ancient, always wanted to know how old it was, please keep up the good work !!
Thank you for your comment. We are also trying to figure out the age of this one too! It’s a sawyer Massey with a frick carriage, so far we are suspecting early 1900’s
What is that steamroller in the background?
Hi there! Double cylinder manufactured by Waterous Engine Works Brantford Ontario
@@RusticCapers what’s the history of it and is it in running condition? Seeing it in the background remind me of one that is built in England
@@rudycarlson8245 yes it runs, we run it here at home and steam corn, so yummy! It’s got a lengthy history which we have documentation, but it originally worked in the streets of Toronto
@@RusticCapers any piece of history like that that can be preserved is just plain awesome! Originally I discovered your channel through the Frick sawmill that you have. Thanks for any videos that you can put out!
@@rudycarlson8245 yes we love our history and old stuff! There’s more videos coming, just learning this you tube! It’s a frick carriage but we’re told it’s a sawyer Massey mill but can’t seem to find a tag anywhere. But the frame work is out of algoma steel so we know it’s Canadian made and very old. Thanks for your interest and comments. Much appreciated
hi that will turn some logs john

hi there nice running engine , john
Thanks we really like our oilfield engine bought it Tennessee
Makes me want to buy a tractor
I saw Maggie the donkey!
runs AWESOME!
hello! nice Pattin! i jsut picked up what i've been told was a 15hp Pattin, but it seems to be the same physical size as yours..... i'd like to connect so we can exchange particulars on these engines. just curious..... what RPM are these rated at... assuming you've got your's running slower.
@steamcollector We have it on the engine site for 3500.00 We have 2 stationary, 1 donkey winch and 1 bell marine engine for sale
@partsproduction Were not going to convert the engine, we are hoping to sell the engine and purchase an oil engine.....
I'm sorry to learn that you are going to do that to the engine, an original halfbreed conversion done in the early 1900's I can understand, but of what value is a modern conversion?
Got to admit....I love a good half breed oil field engine. BUT... a GENUINE McEwen Bros. Steam engine like yours is a very rare find. Several were made but very few exist -like yours! I live in Wellsville, the place your steam engine was built at.
