What was the temperature when you visited The Antartic region?.
Went in Jan 23 , Argentina was high 30s Antarctic was around freezing at worst

Unless there is a need nevr go out in fog. I only experience it once and that was when my s i l had to get to Gt Yarmouth to catch a train to London for business. and my boat had a compass, The problem is you have no control over other boat users? many iuy on holiday for the first time.
Had boats all my life, I know the water and followed the withies, that's why the river ant was right on the nose, but I agree if you don't know don't do it
