Logging in southwest Alabama Log truck breakdown
Need some gravel put down.
@@kevinstone3454 we almost done there
My advice to you, buddy, is don't make a career out of logging. You are young and have endless possibilities.
That boy is going to be in a log truck! He was raised to drive one and it’s in his blood
@TimHollis3006 I was raised around logging and didn't want a life slightly above poverty. With wood prices up and down. Break downs and weather as well. Money flows through the pipeline, but doesn't stick really. To each is it own. The young man had mentioned in a video he was pursuing a degree in college.
I'm a captain of offshore boats and don't want my son in this industry. And he could make an excellent living doing that. Young people have countless opportunities and should explore them. Have this type of job as a backup plan
Dam you'll about 20 miles back there
Not that far the road is just rough so u gotta take your time going in and out
They need a dozer
That was after they pushed off the road with the bulldozer
Man I’m 19 I’m in mobile al I have my cdl I don’t have nb that will hire me I might get into loggin I need to use sb truck
Aye whats good man , i hope yall doing good brother !
Purple truck would’ve went on up that hill lol 😂
What kind of rates are you'll getting down there?
It changes from load to load
Some logger up here in VA are paying 250 on minimum haul and dam near 4.50 to 5.00 a mile just gotta get with the right logger
Is red a 10 speed?
@@devonteray2664 yea
Do you got CDL
@@bighero84permit I’m in the process of getting into a trucking school
I'm in northern Alabama, looking to get a job hauling logs. local company is hiring, how do you like it what time do you days start, and how long are you out, any days off?
@@adamhearts9195I like it but I don’t do it for a living yet so we’ll see and we start at different times depending on if wood is out and how far the woods is away from our house and when the mills open and we put in some long days and normally we work 5 days a week and are off the weekend but sometimes if it’s too wet in the woods or if the mills aren’t open u will be off during the week
@@251boys alright thanks for the heads up. be safe out there
You ought to get in on the rehaul at Boise at nights and on the weekends. You can make some really good money and don’t have to have your CDL inside the mill
That’s the thing u don’t have a cdl if somebody runs up under the load that’s gonna be a bad lawsuit
@@251boys you didn’t understand what I said…rehaul inside of the mill as in private property. You’re never getting on a public road, so you don’t need a CDL. If you’re out there on the yard down by the river coming out onto the highway then you do have to have one of course
@@TimHollis3006gotta look into it
Heck of a load of PPW, and good video…got one of Gene’s trucks in the video & one of Bert Campbell’s too
❤❤Great job man! I enjoy your videos, can't wait till you takeover.
Thank u
How much do you get paid by the load? If you don't mind me asking. I'm thinking about logging now and I been tryin to figure out the pay.
Cool video. Can barely understand his mumbling though.
What mumbling?
Gotta straighten up the steer tires
I remember these days
✌️
Been there and done that. It's been a rough year for logging in KY with all the rain too!
Good video…turn the camera around and show some more footage of the other trucks in the mill, getting unloaded, and the towns you go through while you’re telling us about it
Hey nice truck I seen ur dad at westervelt and going to the naheola mill in Pennington
Thanks
60 miles north of you in Marengo County.
Enjoy the videos brotha. From a little south of Birmingham so cool to see the industry so close to home.
Thanks
You just can't have anything nice, got to work rain or shine
I know the struggle to keep your ride clean. I run a concrete boom pump and seems like soon as you wash them it rains and you end up in a mud pit 😂
Always gotta rain after you get it clean😅
Good video I like watching logging
@@garyuren3810 thanks
You guys haul to any Canfor sawmills? I’m up in northern British Columbia, all tri drives and mountains up here haha so crazy seeing the logging on flat land, mud can be brutal though. You guys don’t know about chains either… God bless
Sometimes but we mostly haul pulpwood
@@251boys ah just curious how big Canfor is down there right now, they’re moving everything south right now because we have a terrible leftist government. Might have to escape across the border if it keeps getting worse, maybe you fellas need some experienced mountain men illegals to haul them logs! ;)
@@251boys I’m in Prince George BC we have 4 huge pulp mills in town and now we’re down to 2 operational unfortunately.
I use to do this back in Eufaula, Alabama in the early 2000’s 😂 hated having to get pulled out of the woods!🤣 don’t miss it at all!
Keep up the good work guys 😊
You came up in my algorithm because I subscribe to anything about TRUCKS! I'm from Jacksons Gap, AL. Tallapoosa county. Shout out to BAMA! ROLL TIDE!!!!
Love the grill on the truck in the thumbnail
Bama red mud ain’t much to play with, nice vid !
Hats off to you'll man. We loggers here in upstate SOUTH CAROLINA. When we have mud. I hate it. But I'll get the caterpillar. Blade and scrape the road.
Need to catch higher gear
What part of Bama had a good bit of land down in perry County for a while
Washington county
ROLL TIDE!!!
Shout out to you driver from Bay Minette Alabama
Need a dozer!
That was after they pushed it
Roll Tide!
AWESOME VIDEO!!
You must be taking those load over to GP. JUST NORTH OFF OF 84 .ON THE CHATTAHOOCHEE RIVER ON THE GA SIDE OF THE TRI STATE AREA DOWN THERE. I've hauled in bye product and hauled out completed product from there be for. Or partly completed product to another GP IN NORTH EAST GA.
@@RedRabbit4230 No PCA in Jackson Alabama
Logging is not for every driver
What part of bamma ? my dad was from southeast bamma. And that reminds me of when I did the log deal but here in central Florida we had to deal with sand had to get drugged in and dragged out lol. And a lot of other drivers and even the truck owner thought I was crazy bc while I was waiting I had my polish and rags keeping my rims and tanks it was an old 85 flc freightliner small bunk bc 400 just a 9 spd idr the gears but it would top out at 90 loaded or empty
@@MattBerg-t3w Washington county and they think I’m crazy for trying to keep our truck clean also😂
@@251boys I also did the dump truck deal and same thing I kept it looking like a regular otr truck inside and out and it was a 97 378 Pete s60 det 18 spd and an aluminum body but I had other drivers at the clay pit actually stop me just to say how good it looked that made me proud and the owner really liked it him and I was the only one that drove it bc it wasn't too bad to start and if wasn't careful it would get away from ya
Ain’t driven a lot but once u drive a cat ain’t nothing like it in my opinion
We love a cat
Is road dog yo grandad or sum ?
He must giving u dat truck and he gone drive dat Mack
No that’s my dad
@@elijahradcliff2456we don’t own a Mack

I park in the wide spot at the 4-way. That's black 94 Z71 that be parked there and my Blue 579 Pete
My home town Alabama that red clay mud will glue you down all the time
Drivers yanked that cable on my job lol
They also have a paper mill in Selma Alabama last time I was down there in 209 pine tree s could smell them trees even before I was the truck hauling it
Where are you located in Alabama ?
Washington county
That KW pulling son
That truck is the strongest truck I’ve ever been around
