Have done that trip innumerable times on my way over to Hot Springs via 39 west and 220 south. At the eastern base of the Gap, on the left as you drive west, off in the distance is the remains of the winter quarters of the Confederate Army in 61-62.

I've not been there in many years but grew up outsider after first 3 years there. Businesses I remember seem to be no longer. Interesting that you drove from Natural Bridge Station to Glasgow and back.

I'm back in the area and grew up around here. I probably have a memory on every street of this town. It may look like it hasn't changed much but it is nothing like when I grew up here or even when my parents grew up here. Lot's of houses gone now. This town has my most cherished memories but it sadly doesn't feel like the place I grew up. Maybe it's just an age thing or just my experience. I miss the good old days

I lived there from 1968 until I retired in 2023 and moved to the Philippines.

I love Discovery Junction in the middle of Marlington with it's Opera House,Amphitheater and Splash Pad.

defiantly a keeper for those who love small stable towns with good amenities Marlinton is a town in and the county seat of Pocahontas County, West Virginia, United States. The population was 998 at the 2020 census. Located along the Greenbrier River, it is known for its scenery.

My exwife and I used to vacation a the Inn at mountain quest in frost WV and we'd eat at the restaurant on your right across the bridge when you turned left a marathon gas station. It had a big variety of food choices. At one point they had food dispensers so you could feed the ducks in the river.

I lived there when I was 5 & 6 years old in the late 60s. The building right side of the road at 4:52 was the first school I went to. They did not have a kindergarten there so I started 1st grade. It was converted to apartments when I was last there in 2003. At 5:04 in the distance I can see my old house up ahead. The church at the corner as the car turns right is the church my family went to.

Spent a lot of time here with my grandparents, they lived right behind the Food Lion. My family still owns a piece of property up on that national forest off of 92.
