Super Easy Leaf Spring Insert Replacement
Replace your leaf spring plastic insert pads the easy way vs. struggling to pry then open.
In this video I am using a simple method with C clamps and a block of wood to help make it easy to replace the inserts on my F150 with add a leaf springs. you do still want to Jack up the frame to relieve some of the tension. Tire doesn't have to be jacked off ground completely, but enough to make using c clamps easier to turn.

May 16th 2013 I filmed a cell tower that was on fire along side of the New Jersey Parkway. The smoke could be seen for miles. Funny thing is, it was not enough to stop traffic on the parkway...

มุมมอง 16212 ปีที่แล้ว
During NBC nightly news telecast Feb. 27, 2012, a man can be seen to the right of a reporter flipping the bird while facing away from the camera. It seems blatantly obvious that he knew what he was doing. The report was being filmed at a Romney GOP candidate speech.

Best video I could find for this problem
What’s the part number or where did you get it
smart guy. very slick.
Just wanted to say thank you for making this video. Im a single woman bought this car two years ago and wasnt sure how to do it. Thanks for cl,ear instructions. My brake light is fixed and im back on thr road 😊
What year was your truck model
It was and still is 2011 F150 FX4 Fully Loaded SuperCab. Race Truck!!!
What size C clamps did you used.
Was the truck jacked up during this process?
Yes, truck is on a jack at this point. Leif springs are not loaded.
what a freaking genius. You can conquer the world brother. Great job!
Thanks bro!
Wow I'm going to try this! I have some rubber pads I need to put in there.
You're the best dude!! Thank you
I wish I would've seen this before busting my finger with a screw driver lol
This tip worked great on my F150, thank you for making this video.
I had one fall out on my 2017 T350HD. I don’t think it has a hole to put them in. I used a putter sole of a water shoe and a zip tie. It fixed it temporarily. The weak link would be the zip tie.
i would take 1 extra second to replace both lol
By far the easiest way to do this thanks did mine today 👍 !
This worked amazingly on my 13 f150 thank you
Did you have to trim the plastic nipple on the new ones, to get them in ? Thanks I have the 2013 as well .
Cheers mate
Genius. Thanks sir for the tip.
Nice idea
What culprit were you talking about? A squeak/creak?
I’m getting a squeak creek too in mine. I think this might be the culprit
@@frankmischler4424 was it?
What year is that on
2011
RIP little man. Will forever miss you
RIP little man!
RIP Deacon, so special, no yorkie will ever replace you! We'll see you again!
very surprised you dont mention replacing the toyota OEM drain plug washer....they're cheap, and need to be changed and used with every oil change. I bought a bag of 10 of them on ebay for like $10, toyota part number 90430-12031
Thanks, this is the second time I've referenced your video.
TheNintendoDrummer thanks, cool name, lol
It's faster and easier to just reach up under the front of the car and screw the oil filter off.
Agreed a good set of ramps and you can do everything right under the front
Right? Who the fuck takes the tire off for an oil change
I wanted to thank you. I'm in my late 30's, I am a stroke survivor, and I'm not a car guy - so this short video helped me a TON. Left blinker replaced, and working properly. My old man would be proud. :)
Hello! Great video. Just one question, the cover you just pull it out hard or do you have to remove some screws?
this old lady(me) changed the rear bulb. thank you for the video. vw dealership wanted $40 plus cost of bulb!!! really??? 5 minutes and I was good to go
Welcome Annie! Glad to see my half hour of work helped so many.
I have a light that pops up on my dash for the oil change, does that mean there is a computer chip I need to change or when I do the oil change the light will disappear?
The guy at AutoZone looked at me, raised an eyebrow, and said, you're going to replace this yourself?! 😊 Yea, trying not to feel like a damsel in distress. Couldn't have done it without your video, though. Thanks! From high maintenance chicks everywhere
Best tip I have heard to prevent the oil burning from starting in the first place is to ignore the oil change every 7000 miles and change the oil every 3000 miles...apparently a friend of a friend did this right when they started noticing some oil burning in their 2008 xb and it stopped burning oil as soon as they moved to the every 3000 miles oil change routine....btw people..all cars eventually burn oil...I'd rather my xb burn a little oil than have the problem fixed by the dealer... guess what the fix is? Engine rebuild!! And no, I don't want some Joe Schmoe mechanic at the dealer rebuilding my engine...fully half of the mechanics i know are not talented enough to do rebuilds properly...so yeah, I'd rather replace a little oil between oil changes than have my engine rebuilt on a Friday by Mark the Mechanic, who has a drinking problem and whose wife just left him last week, and he really doesn't want to be at work....
+bblando65 I agree, the "techs" working at dealerships are usually, and unfortunately, hot head kids, just out of school, they don't have the years and years experince it takes to properly work on cars. Dealerships get them for pennies on the dollar, since there is no real money to be made in automotive unless you own your own shop. Or maybe you land a job with a manufacturer. All of the new Toyotas I've had, and I've had a few of them (just bought a 2015 Scion xB, that's why I'm here, can't find the fucking oil filter but now I see there is a tire involved) all the engines run clean from the factory, with minimal contamination to the factory oil, and I've never had a new Toyota burn any noticeable amount of oil AT ALL. Can't say the same for a new Mazda I bought in 2012, had the 2.5 MZR engine, that was a dirty engine, in the first 10,000 miles I did 7 oil changes. Every time I did another change, it was slowly cleaning out the engine. After the first oil change my fuel economy shot up by almost double... that's a lot of wasted fuel!!! No to mention unnecessary wear on the engine. I had a hunch when I noticed that my "range" was falling real fast... too fast to the point I thought I had a hole in the fuel tank. Getting back to Toyota, they run clean man... I use the same oil in all my engines, Mobil 1. Just about all modern day oils are good oils but I have good experiences with Mobil 1 so I keep using it. And based on past experience I don't' expect to burn any oil on this 2.4L, at least nothing noticeable, maybe when it hits 100k miles???. I do my full synthetic oil changes every 5k, seems to work OK.
@@justacinnamonbun8658 Another tip someone has to prevent the older 2nd gen xbs from burning oil is to pour half a can of Seafoam into the oil about 100 miles before the oil change..drive as usual, then perform the change.....guy started doing this and his 2008 stopped burning oil between changes.....if you got a 2015, you should NOT have oil burning issues....my 2014 doesnt burn oil at all....
thanks man. my old mk 4 gti was way easier to change. didn't want to rip into my mk 5 without knowing what's going on. Otherwise I always break something.
thank you I fixed it with my scromie Kevin and I fell like a real man now
Danke Noble Lion. Im glad to hear it is nowhere near as expensive or time consuming as the front xenons.... great video.
y'all with the scion xb 2008-2010 the Toyota company put defective piston rings that were out at 5,000 miles I have a 2008. it started burning oil at 5k miles in 2008 when I got it and now it's 2015 and it has 240,597 miles on it and still burning oil never had a check engine light or nothing so I changed the oil and put a engine oil additive called engine restore 4 cylinder formula and I started the car up went for a 1 mile drive and it ran better than when it was new and it stoped burning the oil. you have to put it in Every 2k-3k miles or when you change the oil. it works great
+old smokey thanks man I've been wondering why everytime i change my wifes oil 2 weeks later its a qt low!!!
+old smokey I think I'll be changing the factory fill on my new xB out sooner than 5k. Maybe at 3k, at least I'll know what's in there.
Much easier to simply remove the plug from underneath the car. No need to remove that plastic panel from above.
Really helpful vid, 3 mins and it was done!!
Developed oil burning issues in my 2008 xB at about 60k miles. It's 101k now, and burns about 1.5 qt. every 1000 miles or so.
Toyota should have contacted you as this is a "Warranty Enhancement Issue". They should run a test to confirm your problem and if it is burning oil beyond the normal limits, they should rebuild your engine. That's what they did for mine.
I'm at 130k miles now. Toyota did the recall and replaced the rings and pistons, so I pretty much have a brand new engine. I'm happy.
This video is great. When I changed out my bulbs, I had to remove the plastic around the rear hatch as well. On my 08 Rabbit, I have plastic clips holding the carpet in place. They use the tabs seen at 1:09 to secure the carpet to the interior. Which makes pulling the carpet back almost impossible. They plastic clips are a pain to remove, and tear easily.
First of all thanks for the vid. I'm changing the brake light bulb on the car this evening and you have saved me a lot of messing around trying to figure everything out. Translation - American to English . VW Rabbit = VW Golf. Screws = Nuts Finally, The way I understand it the only people who say that you should change all the bulbs together are the bulb salesmen. Thanks again. Good vid.
VW Rabbit, is not the same as a VW Golf.
Great video. Appreciate the help. Thanks!
I bought my 2008 xB with 21000 miles on it. This was during the 'Great Recession'. The dealer I got it from reduced the price twice to $10,895. In retrospect, no wonder I got such a great deal. I heard a lot of engine pinging when the outside temperature got above 90 deg. F. I fixed the problem by changing the fouled spark plugs at about 100k miles. Now I believe the piston ring problem was related to the fouled spark plugs! Damn!
Thanks for posting this video. It is exactly the same process for a 2009 VW GTI, right down to the same size ratchet wrench. I checked the car's manual and it said for burned out bulbs I should just bring it to the dealer, but if I had done so it probably would have cost over $100 with labor, instead of less than $10 for the replacement bulb at Auto Zone. Without your video I probably would have broken the plastic lens trying to pull it off from the outside rather than unbolting it from the inside.
Thank you so much! I could not have done this without your help. You are the best!
Perfect, thank you.
turn off the tv. and its a hell of a thing to let the poor little guy go to all that work to make is bed THEN call him. poor doggy.
Couple of questions.. Asym with or wothout zip? How easy is pitch and takedown of this setup? Whats the weight of this entire setup? & if you have both the tarp and the hammock in the same snakskins? What size snakeskins are they? #4's?
Couple of questions.. Asym with or without zip?
I bet they were welding on LTE panels and a spark started it up
What about the light that is on the side mirrors ?
