Sweeeeeet!
Love it!!!
Great video.
Haha I love that you can hear the groans.
Thay last guy gets the bragging rights! Probably beat his buddies down!
Michigan is so gorgeous!
Greg I’m flying at Villa Grove the end of this month. I recently purchased an oxygen system from MHOxygen, I’m not sure how or where to place components. Please tell where you place the controller. It should be set and forget but what if you feel you need more. Please advise, thanks And btw GREAT VIDEO! I am very excited can’t wait to get there.
my balls just weren't big enough that day.... take note of the wall on the right.... we were looking into the abyss when out of nowhere we see an body huck off the middle of the wall on the right... fly down to abou the middle... landed sweetly and boom he was gone.
I was there when they first made Corbet what a great team
I still didn't see it done the right way 🤨
I love the idea of ski patrol ‘repelling’ people.. “go away! Shoo, shoo!”… rather than “rappelling” into the couloir 😂😂😂
Jake Jakob Pierce is a friend of mine is he from Needham Ma?😊
Sorry, but I'm not into tempting the Lord 😊
I've heard Sending into Corbet's is the easiest way in, but I'm only up to like 15 ft drop ins currently 🤣Nice video thank you!
Stopped in Jackson during a family road trip way back in 1999. Rode up the tram, and walked over to get a look at Corbet's. I was a pretty good skier 25 years ago, but even then, it looked insane. Would like to meet the first guy who looked into this chasm and said "Yeah. This is definitely doable"😮
Idiot sports fo idiots.
If everyong go down, it will take one day 😂
The fact that nobody make fun of all those awkward entrant suggest everyone is equallg shtting their pants and this is scarier than it look on YT
Need to get the big can of Neet spray…..😂
Corbet’s is lame
That contraption legit looks like a mosquito
i don't understand the whole taking off near power lines thing
If you start on the ground under the lines, it's pretty much impossible to hit the lines on takeoff. If his only launch field has power lines, launching from under them is safer than launching from the other side of the field where you would need to climb above them in time.
Yup, what saiboogu said.
The fall was so bad it turned the camera man into a pirate.
Haha as far as HG video music goes this is pretty sick
I don't care if they're bad skiers, but the first guy hurt to watch. There's 30 people waiting behind you, just fall down or something
OOOHHH DOOHH DODDLY doodly Yooooo
He arrived like a king, he left like shit……
no helmet, what a wasteman
The sound effects 😮😅😂
Dang he snakes you guys then closes the run. What a guy. Hope he’s ok
man i hate when people who cant ski this stuff, do it for the instagram pic or the ego, if you cant do it properly try again on a easier run and stop destroying the run for everyone else with your sideslipping
Drop dead easy design! I may build one soon! Im sure the acrylic was pretty pricey. You could also easily add a PH probe and add a cheap PH controller wo it to get an idea of what is going on inside of it.
If you're going to slide down it , just don't do it. You can't really claim that you "skied it."
What a bunch of fuking idiots smfh
A dedicated full face hg lid would be easier on your neck than a motorcycle helmet.
I've gotten used to the helmet, and prefer the protection it provides that hopefully I'll never need. It's carbon fiber, so not as heavy as you'd think. I've had a 4:30 flight with it. I've integrated the helmet with my phone, vario, and radio, so everything comes through the headphones..
Oh man, I was there in September. What an amazing place. I had my new pilot sled run and it was amazing. The camp was nice, Josiah was the best host ever. I'll be back.
Indeed, Josiah is a credit to the HG community. So welcoming.
Хочу также ...😊😮
What a rough lunch
Nice Vid Good flight!
Very nice! Beautiful scenery too. 15,000' doesn't seem that high when you're flying above Mountains that tall...So cool!
darniet dooooeee shiiiit
What is the max altitude over the launch you can attain (with no thermal)? What conditions do you need to attain that?
Good question, hard to say exactly. I had a recent flight in Indiana and got to 8,200 ft without really pushing super hard, but it was a buoyant day, lots of lift around. A buddy of mine said he got to 10,000 once. The problem I believe becomes that the engine is not very efficient at the higher altitudes, also it's harder to climb in thin air.
WTF...leaving the ski ?! stoopid...
These people seem to love wasting everyone's time. If you can't ski, don't ski Corbet's.
Great video Greg! Fellow Mosquito Pilot and NEW subscriber! Question: you mentioned you had a slight loss of power on take-off. Do you still have the shoulder choke on your harness? If so, remove it asap...I have a a couple videos up on my channel where my Mosquito almost stalled completely nearly resulting in a hard landing. This only happened when I first put my feet back into prone position. The shoulder choke line was getting caught inside the harness as a adjusted myself into prone which pulled slightly on the choke line inside the harness cause it to hesitate/lose power and almost stall. I removed the shoulder choke and my harness has never ran better...just a lesson learned from my experiences. Safe flying my friend!
Yes, I still have the shoulder choke in place. The power loss for me usually occurs due to bubbles in the fuel line that I sometimes don't successfully completely work out before launch. Those bubbles usually become a problem just as the harness is starting to angle down in the back, just as I'm becoming airborne. I use the choke to kill the motor if I decide to thermal; then I can restart easily. I also always come into land without the motor running/idling. How do you stop the motor if not with the choke?
Nice video and a fine way to spend a vacation
Nice video. Flew there many years ago in my C2.
Looking at this site on Google Earth ,it looks like on a good day you have over 10 miles of ridge to soar ( with a few gaps )
That's so cool
This has got to be the least expensive way to getting up in the air. There's no way I can afford to buy or rent a Cessna to be able to fly regularly. Question: if takeoff requires 100% throttle, how much throttle is used to boat and cruise around just to maintain altitude?
Depends a lot on conditions, glider you are using and your weight. I'm on the slight side, about 150 lbs, so it's easy to get into the air and climb rapidly. A few days ago I took off in mid-day conditions and flew for about 1:30 on 0.15 gallons of gas. There were really great thermals over the Indiana / Ohio border and I was able to leave the motor off for about 80% of the flight. The engine on this powered hang glider is a Radne Racket, and it's kind of on the edge of burning up much of the time. Once I'm in a safe place (at least 500 feet from the ground) if I'm interested in climbing quickly I'll back the power off maybe 10-15% just to make sure the engine does not overheat. Yes, less expensive than a Cessna, but in reality (in my opinion) requires several years of free-flight hang gliding experience before attempting to add power to the mix.
