why didnt you continue from 0.4
That's a very good question. We can stop after 0.4 as in the final answer(i.e. Converting decimal 12.075 to its binary), after the decimal point there will be 6 digits. So, calculating beyond 0.4 would be time consuming and won't make that big of a difference. The main aim of this calculation(the multiplication of 0.75 part) is to try and achieve 1 as the solution for the overall multiplication to end which, does not happen in this case. So, stopping after 0.4 is the only feasible solution as we get a solution closer to the actual one without utilising too much time. Hope this clears your doubt!
