fine song thanks for sharing needs more views for sure Randy's super
Beautiful, timeless., magical music! Take a sonic auditory trip to paradise with the inimitable Moody Blues!
Agreed. I pretty much wore this album out in the 70s. Have you watched their 2000 performance at the Royal Albert Hall? Incredible.
When this documentary came out, I took a lot of my family to see it, and then I went back and saw it again! This was before streaming, etc. I’ve also visited the Motown museum twice and learned more from this film than I did in my visit and previous research. I love music and especially the stories behind the music. This movie was so great and it was great to see the story of the Funk Brothers finally told! Thank you for posting 😁
These guys were top-notch musicians. Shame most of them never received the credit they deserved.
The Funk Brothers are MOTOWN. Gordy did these brothers wrong without them there is no MOTOWN sound. The music is what hooked us back in the day more than the singers… Long live the Funk Brothers…… Only one left alive today…..
Moving to LA was a mistake. Although I grew up near Detroit, so I'm probably biased.
I absolutely loved❤ the documentary, however it did cast a rather negative light on "Berry Gordy's"(MOTOWN) character!! So many of them past on without the well-deserved recognition and CLEARLY the royalties of some of the MOST MEMORABLE COMPOSITIONS OF ALL TIME??!...What a SHAME!! I bet that "Berry Gordy" offered them BOGUS contracts as well!!
I wonder if Berry ever regretted moving the studio to LA.
I had a 30k watt sound system in my detached studio at one time and used to crank the DVD through it. Luckily I lived on 60 acres with no neighbors.
30:11 best scene
Haha... yep. Apparently, Jamerson was quite a character.
As Featured In "Nadine" With Jeff Bridges & Kim Basinger
I didn't know this. Thanks!
No Problem@@teej0813 You Should Get "Nadine" On DVD Or VHS The Movie Is Pretty Funny Just For The Record
I love this movie so much. my mom got a VHS for me when I was little and I watched it so much I wore out the tape lol. the Ringo Starr narration is what I grew up with so it's nice to hear it again, although I've heard the Alan Thicke one too and he did a great job. but for the familiarity and nostalgia, I do still prefer this one. takes me right back to simpler times :)
I didn't know Alan Thicke did a version until you mentioned it. Found it online and sampled a bit... not bad, but like you, I think Ringo's version is the best (although not the first).
Great voice
No doubt! That whole concert was just excellent.
Beautiful documentary, I’m a big fan of all the Motown songs, I grew up to all of this, however I have a question because I honestly don’t know and I would love an answer.. Did the Funk brothers play all of the background music for all of the Motown singers in the 60’s ? What I’m trying to say is did all of the singers in the 60’s have their own band or was all of their songs recorded using the Funk Brothers.. and when the singers were on tour or singing somewhere else other than the studio who played their music for them.. i know I may sound silly but honestly i don’t know lol 😂
All great questions. According to the documentary, the musicians were under contract with the studio and played on most of MOTOWN's hits. But I got the impression other musicians rotated in when necessary. Not positive about that, but it sounded that way. As for road gigs, I assume road musicians were hired and expected to duplicate what the Funk Bros played.
@@teej0813 thanks
❤
Great song. Love Cole's version. Did you know it was sung in Moulin Rouge?
Thanks is All I Can Say ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ John Barnett ❤ A VOICE IN THE MALL ❤
You're welcome, John!
"Thank You for sharing this"
You're welcome. PFR is one of my favorite CCM bands... very talented.
que musica linda!!! não conhecia,
"what beautiful music!!! I didn't know." ¿No es maravilloso descubrir música genial que nunca has escuchado? Los Sweethearts of the Rodeo no son tan conocidos. ¡Me encantan! "Isn't it awesome to discover great music you've never heard? Sweethearts of the Rodeo aren't that well known. Love them!"
I 'd think if every brother & sister could simply now take those moments to gaze out at the beautiful scenery with the colorful pheasants, butterflies, birds & honey bees out in wildflower fields, that heightens your moments of a peaceful good feeling, to possibly have a thank you for the One Who Created you, to clearly reconcile just what every humble Blessed brother & sister I'm sure has now come to really realize that our Divine Creator God our Fathers' Promise Will be that Glorious Eternal Kingdom, for all those Blessed humble born again merciful brothers & sisters, that are here walking through this valley of all those ones that are still poisoned,🤮 by the false omnivore preaching & non believing educators, who all now really must talk or go deep in sincere prayer in the Name of True Ministering Instructor Jesus Christ, to be awaken and then to be Enlighten to really be humble and not stubborn and bullheaded, to now be humbly merciful to allow all those perfectly magnificent male & female sea, air, & land with the breath of life that our Holy Father put here on His Glorious perfectly livable planet to be doing their Harmonious natural Joy to be Free, and Unharmed and then together with all of us humble Blessed merciful peacemakers, that will be Bestowed everyday His Miraculous Glorious Blessings, and together with all His Angels we forever give all praise to our All Forgiving, All Merciful and All Healing Loving God our Father Amen.
I cry every time I watch this documentary, maybe because I have read so much about the Funk Brothers in autobiographies and biographies written about Motown and the artists. I finally was able to put faces to names that were mentioned, but knowing their stories meant so much more. ❤
Couldn't have said it better, Angela. Real people... real talent.
Utter crap NO SOUND
Sound works for me, Norman. Are you sure?

We don't hear such fine music anymore. Where have all the motown kids gone? And, I guess i'm naive. Did Berry Gordy give them royalties, anything???
Agreed... their level of musicianship was excellent. As I recall, they were paid per song, but no royalties.
This was my introduction to GV. His range is mind-blowing and I'm a lifelong fan.Wheel of life my all time favorite Always beautiful sounds.
Same, Pamela. This was the first GV album I bought. Haven't heard Wheel of Life. I'll have to see if I can find it. Thanks!
I went to find this on Amazon Prime and it was "no longer available in your area" or something like that. Thanks so much for posting. Fabulous.
You are so welcome!

Nice. There's so much great music and interesting interviews in this. Love it.
A+ outing here!
Glad you enjoyed! Love this song.
seems like this gets better each time I listen to it
I agree, Keith. The whole album, really.

I,m never tired of hear this song from my teenage years.
It's a classic for sure!
Great!
Randy really was the best.
Still have this CD...classic. Thanks for uploading. Your efforts have blessed me.
Glad you enjoyed. This is an excellent album.
Good one thanks for sharing saw them in person in 1990 they opened for Highway 101 in Lowell Mass
Now THAT would have been a great concert! Go to see one of your favorites and get introduced to this great duo. One of the bands I was in played warmup for Sweethearts in Saginaw MI back in the mid 80s. They both were really nice... perhaps a bit shy. And they put on a great show.
@@teej0813 Yes I had a great time and yes Sweethearts were excellent
two of the greats
There is just something special about this song. I happen to be a night owl in charge of a flock of chickens so I am bound to the daytime. 🤣 Not exactly the same thing but I still like it.
@@OneMinuteChickens super duo and tune totally agree with you
Like to write to his wife.
I'm not sure what you're saying, joyce. Are you saying he wrote it to his wife?
I meant I hoped he wrote for his wife.

I did not know that. Thanks!
God damn this covers fire 🔥! She kills it! I think I like it better than the original! ❤❤
Truth. The girl can sing.
True that bro she shows her ass on this I like it better than the original

Ha! Like the old-timers say, 'You're as young as you feel.'
Truly Amazing Documentary . . .
So much great music came out of that tiny studio!
Great song by Randy song very under rated Thanks TJ great quality too
Hey, Keith. Yes, this is one of those unknown songs from the album that grows on you the more you listen to it.

Fantastic job by Highway 101 with Paulette Carlson thanks or sharing
Hey, Keith. Yeah, love this song.

Ha! Nice...
There was a 1080 WMV HD release of this. The quality could be better.
Why don't you get it, then post it on your TH-cam. 🤦🏾♀️
Thanks for sharing these! I could listen to Joan sing Motown tunes all day long...and she's backed by absolute masters of their craft. I've watched the documentary...a few dozen times.
You're welcome. And yes, Joan Osborne is excellent.
Incredibly good!!! Where's the rest of this trios live performance. Surely they did more than 1 song that night?
Yes, it is very good. Susan has an amazing voice, and both guitarists are excellent. Actually, both play on Susan's studio albums. You might enjoy them as well. I'm aware of 3 videos from their Troubadour performance. There may be others... th-cam.com/video/pAIpHpVPjLU/w-d-xo.html
Soundtrack to my life❤❤❤❤
Same here. So much great music.
THANK YOU for posting this!
You're welcome. It's a shame these musicians didn't get the recognition they deserve.
The other night I had a dream where this song was playing from out of nowhere. Don't get me wrong, that's a good thing, I like this song a lot. Keith Whitley was one of the greatest showmen of our time, and he's been one of my favorite singers since childhood. He's sadly missed but fondly remembered. RIP Keith.
I completely agree, Roger. If he's not the best male Country vocalist of all time, he's right up there.
Thanks T.J. awesome song!!
You're welcome, Toshi. Glad you enjoyed.
