Val Kilmer should've gotten an Oscar for this performance. This is my favorite scene of the film.

Outstanding acting all around in this movie but Kilmer's performance is top-tier.

“The Party seeks power entirely for its own sake. We are not interested in the good of others; we are interested solely in power, pure power. What pure power means you will understand presently. We are different from the oligarchies of the past in that we know what we are doing. All of the others, even those who resemble ourselves, were cowards and hypocrites. The German Nazis and that Russian Communists came very close to us in their methods, but they never had the courage to recognize their own motives. They pretended, perhaps they even believed, they had seized power unwillingly and for a limited time, and that just around the corner there lay a paradise where human beings would be free and equal. We are not like that. We know that no one ever seizes power with the intention of relinquish it. Power is not a means; it is an end. One does not establish a dictatorship in order to safeguard a revolution; one makes a revolution in order to establish a dictatorship. The object of persecution is persecution. The object of power is power. Now you begin to understand me.” ~George Orwell, 1984.

This part always stood with when seeing how ppl can be so heartless, and cold. Even myself @ times. Wanting to take my aggression and hate out on ppl just for being born. I believe this comes feeling no purpose TO life other than what you make it. Than to be born and raised under f%*k up circumstances to be told from delusional, unfulfilled religious ppl about a wonderful afterlife makes it even worst. I believe this is how serial killers feel. Love this movie

I love watching ridiculous celebrations and then see the team lose. My VIkings- and especially Adrian Peterson, is notorious for this. There is absolutely no sense of pride or humility with these people. They make so much money they don't care. But I wish they'd care about the fans watching them and what a 'punctuation' it is on their losing after they celebrate any fortunate play versus sticking their nose to the grindstone.
