IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT FROM PASTOR BRIAN Church Family, I wanted to share with you some information in case you missed Sunday’s service. Pastor Ralph and Amy Clark have been here serving at Evangel for over 23 years. That is amazing, but there is a transition coming. Pastor Ralph has sensed a shift in God’s call for him to move into hospital chaplaincy. So, starting next month he will move to part-time status, as he has been accepted into the Chaplaincy program at Baystate hospital, where he will volunteer for 20 hours a week for the next 6 months. Presently, Pastor Ralph does youth and front of house (ushers, greeters, security) as well as deployment ministry, general pastoral care and administrative work with missions and missionaries. In mid-October he will be stepping down as our youth pastor but remaining on to do the rest of his responsibilities until at least the summer of 2025. We are going to have a celebration event marking Ralph and Amy’s time in youth on October 20th after the second service. I hope you can come! They deserve to be celebrated! Please know we are committed to our youth ministry. In the interim, the whole staff will be involved in this. We want to all develop a deeper connection to our church teens so we will leverage this time to do just that. We are going to allow for a time to grieve and develop these relationships as we pause and pray about a future youth pastor. We are going to take one step at a time in this process and the great thing is, with the whole pastoral staff involved, we will be able to take the temperature of where the youth are and move forward as they are ready. We will continue all our programming for youth (Sundays, Wednesday, youth convention, missions trip). The volunteer youth staff will remain working with the youth and we will even add to it to best serve them. We will be having a get together with the staff and youth for a mixer and to discuss all these things on October 5th at the church. More details to come on that. I want you to know that we are committed to supporting the Clarks in their transition and we are committed to supporting our youth and youth families. This is a 1 + 1 @ 1 event and a wonderful opportunity to bring someone to serve with you or to make new connections for the Lord. Please NOTE: there will NOT BE a second service that day. Join us for Connections Café, corn hole, pickleball, volleyball, board games, lots of yummy food, and/or just hang out and chat with your church family. This is a great way to get to know people you may have never met or catch up with old friends! Bring a lawn chair if you want to watch the festivities. We need about 15-20 volunteers each Saturday to make these events happen.
