It's truly amazing how many entitled people think that, just because there are a few vintage buses around, it gives them the right to stand out in the middle of a busy street and expect drivers to change lanes to avoid them. Pedestrians don't have right of way on every part of every street. It's just junctions and pedestrian crossings, and even then it's not for standing in the middle of the road to get that 'perfect photograph'. Idiots.

This bus is not a Routemaster new or otherwise and has little in common with the classic bus introduced in 1954 to replace the trolleybus. The Routemaster bus is a type of bus designed by AEC, Park Royal and LT. It had a AV590/690 or Leyland 0600 engine at the front and Wilson gear box attached to a monocoque body with half cab and rear entrance /exit. Variations included RML, RMC and RCL and ran through 6 decades. These ugly monsters are already out of date with full electric buses now available.

This stirred memories... Our family lived in Burnt Oak on the route & my older brother travelled on it every day to Heathrow where he served his carpenters apprenticeship back in the 1960's....I believe the drivers & conductors had a special pay agreement for 6 day working. The route started from Bunns Lane, Mill Hill although the bus was garaged at Edgware. Many thanks.

London buses have always been and should always be red. Green buses used to be London country or green line which served the outer suburbs and home counties. Whoever thought this up needs sacking.

NOT fit for purpose, looking at it from the front it looks like it's had a stroke. I have been a coach and bus builder for over 40 years . the company I worked for built the Primo single deck Bus what a white elephant that was. Today they now build the single and double deck enviros some all electric. The design is far better than the Boris bus new routemaster
