Fangio's performance at the 1957 German GP at the Nurburgring is arguable the best F1 performance ever, probably only matched by Nuvolari's performance in 1935, also at the Ring. Jackie Stewart's drive at Spa in 1968 is probably third.

Funny thing is back then they didnt have microphones on track for TV sound, they literally just used the sound from the trackside cameras. Now F1 cars are so quiet that they need to use microphones to capture sound

Oh so classic a film of ( as of now, January, 2021 ) film of the F-1 cars and drivers of many decades ago! Seems as though those cars were somewhat easy to work with, mechanically. Drivers, teams and fans were exposed to high danger as noted in history archives of those days, but, seemingly, oh so fun to experience...especially, the fans.
