    Thank you for sharing these wonderful tips. Sometimes I get a high-end kind of hiss when using compression I can't describe it, it's just there. I was wondering do you have any suggestions for this problem. I do ballad songs and when I use compression it really is prominent and hard to get rid of. Do you have any idea why I keep getting this hiss. I have asked a few people, and no one has had an idea of how to get rid of it.

    • @officialWWM
      @officialWWM 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yep. Compressors raise the noise floor. They squash loud moments and lift quiet ones. The problem is, they lift noise too. So if you have a mic with high self noise, you’re compressor is going to make it louder. If your interface is “lower quality” it may also be introducing noise. Also, make sure you aren’t cranking the output of the compressor too much. When you turn it off and on, you shouldn’t notice any difference in volume. If you have the output too high, you are going to hear all that noise…

    • @audiomazeltd
      @audiomazeltd 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Try turning your mic input gain up, so you don’t have to compress as heavily. Sometimes upward compressing too much can introduce noise. Alternatively, if it’s just a noise in the background when in between the vocal, try introducing a noise gate to cut it out.

    You mentioned that you can hear every frequency with the NDH 30's. How does that element compare to the Slate VSX's? Can you hear a good amount of detail like that with them too? (be it with the emulation software on or off)

    • @audiomazeltd
      @audiomazeltd 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ve found that the Slate VSX is more for shaping your overall sound. You can hear how it punches, how it balances, and how it sounds in different situations. Where it’s lacking and how it compares to references. But it doesn’t give you the fine details (unless the frequency is clearly standing out, you can sometimes notice them). This is why I like NDH 30. It really exposes the fine details of your track.

    • @Barncore
      @Barncore 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@audiomazeltd I just bought the VSX headphones yesterday and i agree with what you said. It's more for bigger picture stuff / tone shaping. Not for detailed textural stuff. Oh well

    • @audiomazeltd
      @audiomazeltd 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Barncore It's something you need for sure. I use it daily. It really helps me references mixes so they translate across the board. General headphones do not do this, so ideally, you need both!

      The m70x... are they not a little on the bright side?

    • @audiomazeltd
      @audiomazeltd 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I thought so when I moved over from my M50's. But my mixes on the M50's were coming out far too bright on monitors, because they're too dull and bass heavy. I found mixing on the M70x had better response with upper frequencies but it wasn't overkill like some headphones ive heard. @@donvittoriosierra

    Thanks for the video but I'm using Presonus 24C. My problem is that while recording a voice, maybe in the middle of the recording, something may happen which requires that I should repeat the same thing (which needs to be cut off) or continue with that simple mistake (and redo another voice, particularly that portion of the mistake). please how do I cut off the mistake and rejoin the audio with the correction?

    • @audiomazeltd
      @audiomazeltd ปีที่แล้ว

      If you’re referring to a mistake on your vocal take, simply just record it again, and cut and chop, move the best bits together to create the final take. The best way to do this is to stack them all up. However, if you’re working on Logic Pro, what you can do is set up a loop (yellow bar at the top of the timeline) and leave it on record. It will simply create another take for you once it loops back around. Then you can cut and chop again, same process.
