The 5 BEST Plugins For Mixing Vocals 2024
I’d love to see a review on the recently released Sennheiser 490 Pro, which has both producer and mixer options.
Never used Sennheiser headphones, i've recently moved to CIEMS.
great! I will be grateful for your feedback!
Glad you like it!
Meanwhile I purchased the VSX Platinum System of Steven Slate …
VSX is incredible. I use it religiously. I only ever use SoundID now for studio monitors.
are you happy with the VSX @vewilli?
@@mrcoffeebone2279 I‘m happy with it, although I’m still not very firm at it. But I’m only a hobby musician who is in his home-studio not more than about 2 hours a day on average… I only release 2 to 3 singles per year and have only few accesses on the streaming platforms. Kind regards VEWI
Music too loud bruv. Anything else pretty noice.
Thanks for the feedback! We’re new to TH-cam, so it can only get better.
@@audiomazeltd I like the loud music lol
I still hesitate to buy the Steven Slates headphones system!
Yet, you bought it in the end. Great move!

I’m still looking for a “talent” plug in 😂

Thank you for sharing these wonderful tips. Sometimes I get a high-end kind of hiss when using compression I can't describe it, it's just there. I was wondering do you have any suggestions for this problem. I do ballad songs and when I use compression it really is prominent and hard to get rid of. Do you have any idea why I keep getting this hiss. I have asked a few people, and no one has had an idea of how to get rid of it.
Yep. Compressors raise the noise floor. They squash loud moments and lift quiet ones. The problem is, they lift noise too. So if you have a mic with high self noise, you’re compressor is going to make it louder. If your interface is “lower quality” it may also be introducing noise. Also, make sure you aren’t cranking the output of the compressor too much. When you turn it off and on, you shouldn’t notice any difference in volume. If you have the output too high, you are going to hear all that noise…
Try turning your mic input gain up, so you don’t have to compress as heavily. Sometimes upward compressing too much can introduce noise. Alternatively, if it’s just a noise in the background when in between the vocal, try introducing a noise gate to cut it out.
Thank you so very much for taking the time to reply I truly appreciate it. I will try your suggestions and am excited to work on a new song so again Thank you dearly. Wishing you a beautiful week.

@@ScarsandShadows no problem at all. Good luck with it :)
Way too much "really's"
Really?
@@audiomazeltd 😂😂😂
You mentioned that you can hear every frequency with the NDH 30's. How does that element compare to the Slate VSX's? Can you hear a good amount of detail like that with them too? (be it with the emulation software on or off)
I’ve found that the Slate VSX is more for shaping your overall sound. You can hear how it punches, how it balances, and how it sounds in different situations. Where it’s lacking and how it compares to references. But it doesn’t give you the fine details (unless the frequency is clearly standing out, you can sometimes notice them). This is why I like NDH 30. It really exposes the fine details of your track.
@@audiomazeltd I just bought the VSX headphones yesterday and i agree with what you said. It's more for bigger picture stuff / tone shaping. Not for detailed textural stuff. Oh well
@@Barncore It's something you need for sure. I use it daily. It really helps me references mixes so they translate across the board. General headphones do not do this, so ideally, you need both!
The m70x... are they not a little on the bright side?
I thought so when I moved over from my M50's. But my mixes on the M50's were coming out far too bright on monitors, because they're too dull and bass heavy. I found mixing on the M70x had better response with upper frequencies but it wasn't overkill like some headphones ive heard. @@donvittoriosierra
99.9 % don't need anything other than stock plugins
That’s why you’re here, looking at the 5 best plugins 😉
Very interesting high quality video! 👍🏻💪🏻👏🏻🙏🏻
Glad you think so!
hello bro thanks for this quality content
Thanks for the video but I'm using Presonus 24C. My problem is that while recording a voice, maybe in the middle of the recording, something may happen which requires that I should repeat the same thing (which needs to be cut off) or continue with that simple mistake (and redo another voice, particularly that portion of the mistake). please how do I cut off the mistake and rejoin the audio with the correction?
If you’re referring to a mistake on your vocal take, simply just record it again, and cut and chop, move the best bits together to create the final take. The best way to do this is to stack them all up. However, if you’re working on Logic Pro, what you can do is set up a loop (yellow bar at the top of the timeline) and leave it on record. It will simply create another take for you once it loops back around. Then you can cut and chop again, same process.
@@audiomazeltd thank you so much for that wonderful information
Thanks mate for your great video 👍
Glad I could help!
you said -8 is a good sweet spot for vocals..in my studio I go between -6.5 - 7.2..and usually get good recordings of voice...I will try -8 and test and see.. thanks again man!!
Anywhere between -6 and -8 is great. This is mainly aimed at people who are not recording within this region.
