Keeping up with contemporary design gates, produced from various other products, we are pleased to offer our Colchester gates in Accoya wood.
Accoya wood is a made from radiata pine trees and treated with a special process called acetylation, out performing any hardwood species.
Benefits to using Accoya wood:
50 Year warranty above ground.
Doesn’t visibly swell, shrink or distort.
Takes paint finishes very well.
Resistance to rot and insect damage.
Eco-Friendly: Accoya wood which is made from sustainable timber.

I am making some Barn doors for a garage but in Iroko as it is a very durable wood and does not even need finishing, do you think the pine you are using is durable enough to stand the test of time? I get the impression that the pine will move a lot.
Pine is more of a budget option if you can't afford the expense of hardwood, although if it is looked after it should be good for 10 years plus.

Hi Jorge price would be dependent on exact sizes, although round figures would be £2600 +VAT (deliveries in UK)
...except you can’t unlock it from the outside
If you have bolts top and bottom on both doors which is great for security, then yes you can't open them from outside. If you only have the ability to get into your garage through the main doors and need extra security, then we would suggest a cylinder lock & a BS dead lock, which gives you access from outside as well as in.

Hi Tom Osmo Oil is a good product to use.
- surprised youre using cascamite, had a number of failures - use boat building glues - 2 part. Nice machinery
Hi Craftsmark Many thanks for your comment. Over the past 20 years of using Cascamite glue we haven't had any failures, although maybe we might see problems if it was used in wooden lock gates i.e. submerged in water. The other glues which we also use is D4 PVA & Gorilla glue depending on the timber we are gluing which again we haven't had any problems with. I might test your boat building glue to see how it performs. Cheers Longman gates
laminations were where the problems lay - wedged joints etc should not be problematic.
I like the technique they use for making doors.
What type of sliding table router machine are you using in this video? It would be very interresting to see how the swing arms are constructed which are hidden under the table at 1:21. Are there 3 swing arms in total or only 2?
