2007 - 2014 Silverado/Sierra console latch repair
This is a tutorial on replacing the center console latch. The broken latch is a common issue with these trucks. Repair normally consists of total replacement on the console lid, which is costly.

Excellent video on this EASY fix! Dealership wanted to replace entire lid for over $200! saved a BUNCH of money thanks to this video and ordering just the latch!
Thanks for info... Next time please hold the camera sideways, not up and down. it will make a better video..
Thanks for the video. The latch in my 2012 Sierra broke. The replacement piece I got from eBay seems a lot stronger than the original.
Glad to help!!
Thanks man, ordered mine 3 days ago. I know what to do
Glad to help!!
I found the replacement piece on amazon for $11.00.
which one did you buy? ANd how did it work? I looked on amazon, and just want to be sure I get the RIGHT one
I just typed in the one for my truck and it pulled it up. amazon should tell you whether or not it will fit your vehicle, they have a car part matching software built in.
Thanks for the vid!! Had no idea there were plastic fasteners underneath. Got my part from eBay for $6 with free shipping so shop around...
Thanks for the video, appreciate it
This just shot up to the top of my list of truck fixes since it's so easy!!! Thanks
Do you know what size the torx screws are? (Not the bit, but the screws themselves?)
Need info or part # for lower latch. The latch for the lower storage area under the seat is missing. Key lock is there, but, the latch it hooks onto is missing. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you :)
+Julie Gayhart check the comments - the one I bought is no longer available, but Alfonzo Lopez posted a link, and it looks like that one is still for sale : www.ebay.com/itm/CENTER-CONSOLE-LID-LATCH-AZ3-07-14-SILVERADO-SIERRA-AVALANCHE-LIFETIME-WARRANTY-/321484200983?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4ad9f39c17&vxp=mtr Hope this helps!
