Solar Watch / Sun Tracker apps Demo - Capture you Own Sun/Moon Observations!
How to use your smartphone to record where the sun is in the sky to capture the compass heading and elevation of the sun or moon or any other celestial object. Once you've made an observation, enter it in the "Observations" tab at the-final-experiment.com website! @The-Final-Experiment
You can get your latitude and longitude from the maps app if you don' know it - just drop a pin marker and look at the info. Round to the nearest degree.

Using the Solar Watch apps to document the position of the sun and the moon. Also using SkyView Lite to locate where things are when you don’t know where to look. Apps may call them different things, but ultimately you want to record two values: • The compass direction or right ascension (N = 0, E = 90, S = 180, W = 270) and • Elevation above the horizon (Horizon = 0 deg, straight up is 90 deg)...
Sun Tracker v3 Sunrise Demo and Predictions for Punta Arenas & Union Glacier Camp in Antarctica

Here I use my version three Sun Tracker in Maryland to show the sunrise tracks with the tracker. How many trackers could a tracker track if a tracker could track tracks? So far, America, Europe, and Iceland. Now we will see if it works in southern Chile and and Antarctica!

Sun Tracker v.3 Use

Here is how to use the Sun Tracker based on your latitude and time of year and if you are north or south of the equator. It can also be used to tell the time of day, when and where sunrise and sunset will occur and the ark of the sun through the sky during the day.

October 14, 2023 annular eclipse timelapse from Utah BLM wilderness! This is a 2 hour time lapse. Note carefully the small "ghost image" lens reflection moving across the image (opposite side of the frame to the sun) - you can see the moon move across the sun!
Thank you. Are you using this for photography?
@@danlocke4904 it is 100% usable for that purpose, although a Sun Tracker app is probably more affordable! I developed it in my quest to better understand orbital mechanic, and our view from the glove. It is confirmed to work from Iceland Arctic Antarctica!
@ thank you very much for your reply
What new features would you like to see in version four?
they are going to look at the sky to determine the shape of the ground. We see to far for globe to be true. I.E. seeing over 10 miles from 1 foot above water, on globe you should not see past 1.25 miles. It's 2025 and there is zero evidence that the sun will rise SE, north at noon and set SW, for anyone ever. There is zero evidence that the sun will appear to rise due east, overhead at noon and set due west for someone at the equator, on an equinox. ( I have talked to a few people now in the south and they have said the sun does not make that arc). Both of those observations must happen for the globe to be true, their timing is predictable, if you are in the southern hemisphere, this would be extremely easy to show. None of the flatters or globers, supposedly south of the equator, will show evidence one way or the other. for a lot of people north of the equator, you can watch the sun rise/set north of due east/west on the equinoxes. not possible on the waterball doing a quadruple corkscrew at millions of mph
Ahhh, I think I get it. There will be a 24 hour Moon in the Arctic though, right? As of the 13th of December. Hmm. Maybe that’s what he is saying. Interesting Like I’ve said before, the devil is in the details. Listen to Will’s words very carefully.

I’m now confused. I keep getting conflicting information about the moon in Antarctica. I can’t find anything specific about Union Glacier. But I did read that when the moon is in crescent it should be above the horizon in Antarctica. which as far as I can tell, it should be in that phase there. Well maybe Will is trolling us or he has more precise info than me. Cheers
Created with Stellarium on an iPhone using screen capture.
This is wild... It's shocking to see that 360 degrees of greenery around the sky like that...
It is! When zoomed all the way out in Stellarium, you are getting a hemispheric view, as if you had an ultra-wide angle 180° fisheye lens pointed straight up. Turn on "grid view" to see the celestial sphere alt/azimuth coordinates. Panoramic stitching software can also produce a hemisphere projection view like this.
