I'm grateful for this video and am in the process of replacing the oil seals in my JD4520. The NAPA 3246 tool, to remove the ratcheting nut, was not the correct size for my tractor, so I called John Deere and they advised me that the correct tool for my tractor was a Servicegard Ring Nut Socket - KML10008. I procured it from Green Parts Store for $109.95 plus shipping and tax. It fit perfectly.

Problem is the blend door assembly has a warped blend door that causes the blend door actuator module to fail. So you did not fix the problem, and your actuator will break again. This is why the actual correct fix is at the dealership getting the whole assembly replaced.

Did you reset the damper position from the FCIM? Has the issue returned?

did you have to do any programing or resetting after replacing it? I replaced it and still have the problem

The cover you’re referring to as a freeze plug, JD calls it a spindle housing plug, the jd tech manual calls it a spindle housing cap. I would recommend venting the axle. I have a 2001 4700 tractor, 5-6 yrs ago had oil seeping from top seal on spindle axle housing,once I vented the axle it’s been bone dry since. One other modification I would recommend. The 2 caps ( freeze plugs) are glued in place. Two weeks ago I was removing snow and when I parked tractor in barn I noticed the 2caps on the floor. Lost 2 gallons of axle fluid without ever knowing the axle was running dry for about an hour. I reglued the caps with ( loctite retaining compound 620 jd recommends it) and as a safety precaution I fabricated 2u shape brackets to support the caps. I used the bottom 2 bolts of the hub gear housing ( mine has 8 bolts) and replaced the pipe oil drain plug with a brass hexagon drain bolt. Auto part stores stock them.i also installed a 1/4” x 1/2” rubber piece glued and fastened to bracket under cap for support and preventing noise vibration. Hope this helps.

Hi mate im chasing the constant power fuse on my 2021 ranger its the 9 pin on the plug is this the one you are talking about on you vid ....

I found that these modules have too much grease and in warm weather the grease gets on the contacts and the actuator doesn't function properly if you take it apart and clean the contacts with electric contact cleaner they work again.

Dos it mater wen you pot the gear bake in the bare if the ring is up or down ?

How do you get the gear and bearing out of the top part of the knuckle that connects to the differential. There doesn't seem to be room to remove it.

Why in God's name would they put fuses UNDER the fuse box.

Did you replace the actuator with a new one, and did that fix the problem you were having.

Do you need to remove the whole assemble from the axle, or can you drop the freeze plug and disassemble it on the tractor to replace that seal? Thank you.

That's not a 1968 112. 68 112 would have a tecumseh hh100 engine and that's a Kohler

Have very similar washer mines grey. Having trouble with it going through all cycles what do you recommend?

Also does it matter which way the sides of the seal faces?

You are a lifesaver. Lost power to the towbar plug just on sunset and the weather was getting worse. So I hurriedly grabbed the manual. 🤔 where's the fuses. Found the ones near the steering wheel easy, main fuses and the top level under bonnet. 😤 raining now where's fuse 65 😖. Woke up at 4am stewing on the fact that I may have to pay Ford to change a fuse. Then I tried TH-cam and saw your post. Thank You So Much. I'll wait till the sun comes up but I hopeful I'll find it now. Again Thanks 😊

Great video. I have a 4600 MFWD that needs this done. I have the books, but your video brings the operation to life. Just a bit unsure if you just didn't record a step, or you showed it out of sequence, but I think you mean that once assembled, the seal is sandwiched between two races, and you used the old race to protect the new outer race as you set it. I will examine the exploded view in the parts catalog book to try to get some clarity. Thanks for taking the time to make this.

It has no lift on it. I saw once a 41 A that also had no lift. I thought at the time how odd was that

I cant believe a G would spin that easily. I started a 37 A back in the early 60s, and it was a bit hardewr than what im seeing. In case u think I might have been a wimp, I worked at a sawmill taking squared timbers for parking lots and RR at 8uX10s 10X10s, 10X 12s and stacking them in stacks of 16 and tying them together by myself.

Thank you for making this video. I have a 2019 lariat dual climate doing the exact same thing. I was also dreading the dealer pulling the entire dash board. I'm definitely going to try this first. I got two trouble codes also B1081-07 Left temperature damper motor - mechanical failure (current code) and B1081-13 Left temperature damper motor - circuit open (history code) I really hope it's this motor/module and not the door inside the HVAC assembly.

Hey Daniel , I just fixed my spindle seals on my 950 John deer and when I put everything back together my front two wheels got locked. Any idea how could that happened?

This was my first bike. It was already a dinosaur, but ran so nice. I'm sure somewhere, someone is still riding it.
