He gives an excellent answer to the question: 'Who do you?' Often the first reaction you hear answers like: 'awareness'. That is too limited an answer, because each one is his whole manifestation, so body, mind and awareness. It is also a question that you shouldn't ask anyone else, but only yourself (that's how Ramana meant it). It is also a question to which the answer is irrelevant, for every answer that arises in the mind is an identification with something or a (self-imposed) limitation. When nothing rises in the mind, only awareness remains. By asking this important question to someone else, there is a good chance that a somewhat 'contrived' answer will be given. It's nice to hear a wise person speak from time to time. In the past this was only possible with books and direct contact, now there are many beautiful videos on the internet. From Plato I have learned to think well, from Ramanah to let go of all teachings, but they all speak of the same thing, with or without words.

A very good conversation. Your answer to the question, "Who are you?" appeals to me much more than someone saying something along the lines of "I am awareness or "immutable and everywhere" or the absolute, God, the Self. The manifestation that you are also includes the body and mind. It is the identifications with anything and everything from which the ego derives its good and bad traits, a self-imposed limitation.

Awareness implies being, being implies manifestation. Because consciousness manifests in the here and now, therefore here and now is necessary. I am only consciousness is therefore an illusion. I am, yes, and at the same time more than that. Of course, a picture of Ramanah is not ramana (but an image), but if Ramanah is pure consciousness, then the picture is not a picture of Ramanah, but an image of an image. Yet we call that a picture of Ramana. Therefore, we should not separate body, mind and soul (or consciousness) as independent manifestations, but take them for identifications with parts thereof. I am the body is too limited, I am awareness too.

Francis is the top of the top,i don't think you can find someone better than him,his precision and clarity are something else,which is proof that he is a real illuminated master,but he would not like at all to be called in this way : P . Anyway it is what it is,thank you so much for this incredible conversation,it's impossible to find an interview of Francis almost,it's not something that he does, you were very lucky and if you pay attention you could not ask questions about the person and there's a precise reason for this behaviour. A lot of people don't understand why,but actually is very helpful,it's a genius move and it's to put enphasis on who is the real guru and what he/us really are,which is formless Awarness aware of itself,Consciousness,God in religious terms,Source,Void,Emptiness,Presence etcc.. many names according to the various traditions and religions but all poin to the same "thing" .

Phenomenally fabulous! ✨ Here’s something relevant I wrote recently… The burning questions only burn away the one asking them. There is no solvable mystery. If the Mystery were solvable it’d cease to be a mystery now wouldn’t it! 😉 This is the mysterious stepping into the light every breath of the way. Who roots for weather patterns to remain at least a little elusive from the weather man? …lol guess I do! Nature is wild! Wild is unpredictable! Who’d want to tame the untamable? That which is so free it cannot be boxed and understood… To draw in the boundaries would be to declare the extent that Nature can express… to contain it. Cage the bird. Another feeble attempt to contain the uncontainable… understandably out of the desire for more pleasure and less pain.
