Someone has mistakenly mixed this video with some sort of music tract. Unwatchable.
In the plastics recycling process, how is Polypropylene casing material separated from PVC, which used as grid plates separator.
lets go lead!

Lead Battery: I have less energy, but I am not crazy
batteries are amazing! My personal Fav battery would be a lead acid group 65!!!
I dont know what this is or why it was suggested to me, but that's an excellent thumbnail.
Hope that is an OSHA approved trash bag on his head.

1:05 the video starts here.
Where is this facility?
doesn't really pertain to this incident but about 25 years ago i was a mobile mechanic that did repairs and service inspection on semi trucks/trailers. One day an account of mine needed me to go to this paper recycling plant and fix a hole in the floor right at the threshold of this super old wagon that they used just around their yard. Well me not knowing jack shit about anything except getting this shit done so i can go home and get wasted, i set about fixing this floor but first i needed to remove a 2' piece of diamond plate that was screwed down and tack welded at the rear. I didn't get to complete that job bc that damn trailer was a huge fire ball and a smoldering heap in under 10 minutes i bet. I went to get that plate off by using oxy/acet torch to cut the screw heads on the plate after trying to spin them out with my impact wasn't happening. Not one person anywhere told me NO TORCHES NO FIRE! the walls of that thing were jam packed with very fine shreds of mulched paper that built up for years. It was almost like a semi fine powder made out of paper. My cutting torch ignited that stuff and i shit you nine, it was like a bomb at first but not a very loud one but it was HOT & BRIGHT and i had burns on my arms and my neck and chest but i had enough forsight to jump im my van and scoot away from that thing quick with my torch and air hose dragging out the back. Some guys ran up to me with these fire extinguishers and sprayed me even though my shirt that had cuaght fire i peeled it off so damn fast it would have seemed like magic if someone would have seen me do it. idk. it was a huge deal that could have been sooo much worse but bad enough as it was. I have a scar on my neck and fore arm but not terrible and i got a couple weeks off work, almost. It was more like 8 days not counting sat/sunday. anywho, shredded paper that is packed and in fine powder form is explosive. like batteries.... well that had zero to do with this video and if you read it, sweet. learnt something if you didn't already know. bye.
Holy cow my guy
When that dude was a little boy laying in bed at night, do you suppose he ever dreamed one day he would grow up and be working in that environment? I feel sorry for anyone, anywhere in the world that works in this type of environment. I understand people need money, but this just looks horrible.
That looks like an insanely dangerous job with some very poor safety practices.
Man, I sure am glad our governments are banning gas engines in favor or lithium batteries. I feel so safe.
americans will suffer any amount of harm to prevent a single 'undeserving' (read poor or POC) person from benefiting from a program transit is the obvious solution, we've had electric trains and busses for over a century and you can't get much more recyclable than copper and steel electric motors. run it off the grid and avoid the battery issues altogether
And no contamination of air, soil or water, I hope.
More dust than anything.
1:05 for those of us who are impatient.
Great video and information.
Thankអរគុណ
Until about the exact date of this video, Sydney Australia had a battery recycling factory called Australian Refined Alloys, which had a big saw blade which cut the tops off car batteries, then tumbled them, then the lighter weight emptied cases somehow tipped out of the tumbler on to a short conveyor belt and went up to get dropped into a plastic shredder and rinsed and filled into a bin forklifted away to a big bin. The lead fell from the tumbler into a bin regularly forklifted to an adjacent pile then scooped up by a machine and tipped into a long trough driven by a machine which tipped it over into the furnace nearby. The bigger truck batteries as much as possible, and all forklift batteries, were manually by one man, after 1995, working on a stainless steel bench paid about $35 ton, to have axed of their lids and connections, then empty cases manually put on the same conveyor belt, and contents lifted manually into a bin alongside the bench. That factory moved to Wagga Wagga. Before 1995 the bench did not exist and instead a different worker worked off the floor, lifting every forklift battery up into a ferrous metal bin. He did not axe truck batteries.
Well that escalated quickly
I’m sure I have the same questions as everyone else: What caused it? Was the worker ok? And, how can I reproduce this at home with common household items (minus the potentially injured worker)?
_Boys._
I work as a contractor for 18 years at a lead smelter that took batteries as feed stock. The way they're system was set up a hammer mill was set at the 3 rd story far away fom most all the workers and the shell of the hammer mill was made of stainless steel. There was a Z shoot at the entrance the reason was redirect any blast upwards rather than allowing the blast come back down the line it also kept high speed lead from escaping the mill. This set up worked very well at protecting the workers and rarely jammed up in all my years welding that place back together tha area was accident free during up time
pretty cool! do you feel like you had any excess exposure to the metal lead itself? i read the story about the one down in florida that was shut down because it had heavily contaminated workers with lead sulfide.
@@prestonburton8504 my blood lead levels stayed under the OSHA removal limits but I wouldn't be surprised to hear the plant played games to make sure they had the skilled labor they needed but physically I didn't feel the symptoms of High blood lead levels
10day/12month/23. Video 7 years old. Can't find an 7 yr old comment near the top.
Lucky it wasn't a can full of petrol.
Did lithium batteries exist 7 years ago?
As a former tool and die, and production shift lead, it was my responsibility to place guards and train people how perform safely. That conveyer is a decapitator / limb remover. The shredding unit inlet should be a shute dexigned to funnel the blast away from workers, and there should be a ventilator directly blowing fresh intake air down at workers hovering over hazzmat. Better yet, box in with sheet metal and downdraft the entire conveyor and feeder shute. Bigazz lawsuit right there. No PEP'r, insufficient clothing, more~
Cheaper to settle the lawsuit than to completely redesign the equipment.
Where is the Everready bunny when you need him ?
My favorite part of the video is the minute of unnecessary footage.
Make EVs mandatory for all the left.
Yeah and people want to own entire vehicles that run off these.
So burn tons of fossil fuel to mine the minerals, tons of fossil fuel to make the batteries, tons of fossil fuels to charge the batteries, tons of fossil fuels to recycle the batteries and finally tons of fossil fuels to make new batteries. Wow great idea😅😅😅😅
Lith ion bats are stupid... Green tech my ass
So safe
If you take the battery out of a tesla and load it on a truck, it requires hazmat placards, hazmat license endorsement etc.. It's only a man made law on paper that makes it not hazmat when installed in a car
That's the first time I hear that. What's your source?
@@logitech4873 for the most part it's right on the bill of lading 4 batteries I have hauled. I know it sounds crazy, but it's just like the electric forklifts I haul. If the battery is installed in the forklift it's not hazmat. If it's a brand new forklift the battery will be on a separate pallet and that pallet with the battery is considered hazmat
the car should be labeled Haz-Mat!!
Kinda suspicious that a lithium ion battery exploding somehow miraculously instantly stopped the conveyor belt motors. Almost looks like what actually happened was that the conveyer vfd exploded.
Yeah, I'm very suspicious of this myself. Chunky footage, no audio, a bare-bones description, and zeros sources or followup. BCI is a real company, but their TH-cam channel is a piss-poor afterthought that looks more like emotion manipulation bait.
@@FurryWrecker911emotional manipulation. What is wrong with you people? Are you the only honest people or the criminal ones exposing others aka whataboutisms
Ha ha ha love it!
I can not believe there are some pushing to have aircraft powered with these death bombs.
Lithium ion batteries are one of the most toxic and dangerous ways to store electricity for consumer use.
Same batteries that are being installed in EVs now….
Remember, dead Lithium batteries are hazardous waste. Where you going to find the room?
I like it’s so quiet here, everything is run by electricity probably, nobody screams and even the explosion is soundless.
I also like how this nasty chemical filled recycling plant has no offensive odor, it kinda smells like dinner!
This looks healthy for the environment
Fuck that glitchy ass camera system what a piece of shit why don't they invest in higher quality things that actually work‼️‼️‼️‼️‼️
Because they are cheapskates. If you ever make friends with someone who works for a building inspection company, whether it be construction, plumbing, renovation, or fire systems, they will have stories week after week of some of the dogshite corner cuts people do when it comes to buildings. My father-in-law once got an entire hotel shut down for 6 months. He was brought in to hook up the fire panel after the builders did a self-install, and discovered only 1 of the 5 floors were hooked up, doors were barricaded, pipes for sprinklers were straight up missing, but the owners went so far as to try to bribe him to give them a pass so they could open. This is why I have trust issues. lol Next time you go to a hotel, just glance at the fire panel in the lobby and see how many active trouble codes they have stored in memory. :))))
just imagine how many of these batteries wind up at your local landfill, and the number increase every year.
Along with countless other hazardous materials like plastic BUT no one seems to care.
They seem to be wearing respiratory masks but they don't realize the lung is just more skin. The chemical vapors around will enter their bodies through their skin, whether it's outside skin, or skin inside the lung. THE MASK ONLY HELPS A LITTLE BIT. MOST OF THE TOXIC CHEMICALS THEY WILL ABSORB THROUGH THEIR FOREARMS, FACE, AND NECK. It only takes a few drops of the right stuff on the back of their hand. THEY SHOULD BE WEARING A FULL PROTECTIVE SUIT!!!!
