I am really bad about hoarding too much cash. It makes me nervous not having enough. However I am doing the same as you. I am using some of our savings to fully fund my husband’s IRA. I wish I was as budget savvy as you are at your age! So proud of you 🎉

Mr bill and I spent 50k on travel this year and we had two big international trips with 14 and 7 people .. but it was abnormal year for us due to retirement .. we plan on 30 k travel a year for the next 3 years then likely totally slow down on travel BUT we did not get to travel at your age ! 😂🎉glad you are focusing on you and want to see the credit card video ! Love this idea, cant wait to see how it goes for you this year! If i could go back to give myself one piece of advice before having kids it would be to basically sleep train myself haha. Before kids i wasnt a terrible sleeper but i do have some issues falling back asleep after waking up in the middle night. It got WAY worse after her my daughter and i wish someone had told me to learn how to sleep well before having babies.

On the hobbies…I took a glassblowing class a few years ago. Super fun and interesting to try. I didn’t need to do it again, but I would 100% recommend.

I have the same issue with not sleeping enough. My goal is to aim for 7 hours

For my travel categories instead of subcategories, which I also would love, i do each purchase for the trip under each trip category and then i use hashtags for each purchase so i can search it later. For example i bought flights for one of our trips yesterday and i pit #flights in the memo section. Hopefully that makes sense! Love watching your BWMs!

Gaby … I have had issues with weight my whole life and it used to be if my food was “good” my spending was not !!! Some things are connected … keep a journal and see if things match up .. your doing great keep plugging away

Thanks for sharing, i appreciate you leaving in the overspending, even if it was difficult for you to share! One thing that has really helped me prevent overspending, especially for impulse purchases, is the “find the money first”. I always make sure the category i am about to spend from has enough to cover my purchase. This takes only 1-2 minutes on the YNAB mobile app and has saved us a TON of money and stress.

I love YNAB and I love watching your videos, fun to see how someone else uses the program. Girl I feel like you've forgotten you have $80 in your holding category. Move that ish out of there and help it bring down that shopping category a little bit! Don't panic. You can still return even more items if you decide you truly regret these purchases. And you have plenty in savings. It'll be ok, breathe :)

Can you export this "Income v Expense" report and receive it in the view shown online? BTW your food expense isn't outrageous. Not sure where in the country you are, but up in PNW that average of $450/month would probably be typical for a lot of people.

Just stumbled across this but I’m a financial coach and the second thing I do with every single person I meet with is set up YNAB with them. Cash flow: tracking your money and budgeting, is the foundation of anyone’s financial plan!

Gas is very expensive in California - some places close to 7 dollars a gallon - if you have an app that has gas prices to help you you might want it and then you can delete it after your travels - glenda

Have you thought about posting additional videos with more tips and tricks? Should be able to get more reach and better engagement if viewers are able to learn from educational videos. I just listen to it in the background while I work, good way to calm down and focus. But if you tailored a separate series to more broad personal finances I think it would help grow the channel.
