This is an album I bought in Virginia AFter I played her albums I bought in Highschool growing up. She, no pun intended, I couldn’t turn back from listening to Led Zeppelin and so much beauty rock of the ages. I was born in 1959 and my parents listen to all my trials, so I grew up with all of this and now still hearing all the folk and rate music like brothers comatose
I'm glad the other commentors are admitting that this is pretty bad. I LOVE Harris'mature voice but this is painfully shrill. I keep having to turn it down to not hurt my eardrums.

I'm starting to get tired of people putting up a few songs, then claiming it's an entire album--this is only one third of the album. Quit playing stupid games and do it right. Dunno which album it's on, but I'm hunting for his rendition of Fraulein--he was the first to record it.
This was originally a 10-inch LP, with 8 songs..... It was reissued as a 12 inch LP with 4 additional songs. The latter is what you are remembering..... The former is what was posted. No need to be rude.

“First train headed south” I think that is Grady Martin on lead guitar, a hotshot studio guy back then. The entire band is very tight, I figured this was an old cover tune. Nope Johnny Horton wrote this. They were good. Unfortunately the radio in later years only played his novelty tunes. He was a rockabilly pioneer I think.

Well if say that Elvis stole his sound. Elvis learnt and absorbed everything around him since his youth. Plus you have to have a voice, artistic talent and charisma. Elvis was incredible. Best entainer. SOUTH AFRICA

After Roy's untimely death, Elvis sent regular payments to Roy's widow anonymously through RCA records. Roy's widow assumed these payments were royalties from Roy's sales until the truth was revealed by Elvis's estate upon his death. These payments continued until the early 2000s so no, Elvis did not steal from Roy.
True. When asked if Elvis stole his father's style Roy's son said no, he emulated his father. He said Elvis loved his father like a brother. They met in 69 and became good friends. Elvis gave Roy the song 'Angelica '. When Roy died, Elvis helped to pay for the medical bills and the funeral. Roy's grandson later stated that Elvis also started secretly sending money yearly to Roy's widow. It seemed to be from the record label as royalties. She only learned it was from Elvis after his death, due to the estate informing her. Elvis would often do things like this, he paid for Jackie Wilson's care when he was placed in a nursing home.

Many of Roy's hits came from white Broadway shows. He did a lot of cover songs from white artists... Frank Sinatra, Fred Astaire, Gene Kelly, Bing Crosby, Vic Damone. Listen to Vic Damone's song "Ebb tide" 1953. Then listen to Roy Hamilton's version of " Ebb Tide" 1954. Everyone is influenced by someone. That's how music evolves. Elvis recorded about 800 songs in his career. Most of them were written by white songwriters. He could sing any genre, thats why he is inducted in 5 Halls of Fame, for gospel, R&B, Country, Rockabilly and Rock n Roll. He was most certainly not a fraud.
