I just made a trade to get all 3 Ghost of Kurosawa figures (White, black, and Red) as well as the Akira inspired Teq63 set with the bike. Just got delivered today
@@twiztidlestat would love to see it!! Hope you like the figures. They're awesome.
If you put the Mezco Tunic and cape on the Legends it makes the ultimate doom
@elonce01 that's an $100 upgrade. Why not the GPS lot version
@@ShadowMoses112 Funny you mentioned that, I actually have it on the way! lol. Looked a bit bulky in the pics but I'll make it work.
I also have issues with my K2M but only after about hour 8, into a long print. This is how I over came the issue, I reduced my travel speed Print Settings > Acceleration from 10000 to to like 4000 and that seemed to correct my layer shift. Anywhere in the Acceleration settings where it said 10k I reduced it to 4k. Try it out and let me know if that works for you. Also I think that stepper motor would benefit from heat sinks, I'm going to try that and see if I can bump the speed back up.
The same problrm with my printer
@gorobizz if you're within warranty id just get a new one. Return and repurchase. If not... ask for a new mother board
Also remember the heating of the motors are a issue, so buy heatsinks made for nvme ssd's glue them on using gorilla glue or industrial glue to the back of the motors. Make sure they are Aluminium which dissipates heat better or a heatsink that is the same measurement of the motors. On the kobra 2 i found majority of the layers shifts was from the back of the print head module the wheels needed tightening or the rivet screw holding those wheels would come loose, so if you can use needle nose plyers hold that rivet nut in the middle and begin to tighten the wheels. The z offset has always been a issue but every printer has issues, i kinda want to buy the kobra max 2 but with all these negative reviews of layer shifting after hours of printing i might just say the hell with it and go bambo labs. Very disappointing as i loved the kobra 1 n 2, i need something for large prints.
😮
GMEN!🎉
Yeah!
LFG!
My kobra 2 max has random and inconsistent Y shift. I have done everything from checking every moving part to every reset and recalibration I could think of. I thought the problem went away and was over 20 hours in to an expensive print and with less than 20% left the Y shifted….. I am ready to run this thing over with a truck. I just don’t understand how it was working perfectly for so long and now I can’t trust it. There is nothing mechanically wrong that can be seen or tested so it must be something in the coding or one of the boards/drivers.
If only Bambu Lab has a larger bed. I'll shell out the cash. This printer sucks. I won't buy anycubic anymore. Mine is printing ok. But i don't like the quality. I bought a carbon X1 at work and it's night and day in speed and quality. I won't buy another printer again if it's not the same standard as Bambu. I still use this kobra 2 max for non quality prints only. And larger accessory use only.
Figured it out. Pull the cover off the main board. Turn on machine then press the white button a couple times. You will see the screen reload. Then I did a factory reset and no more shifting
How do you do the factory reset
You can do it from the touch screen
Thank you very much.
Can you get to the main board from the top?
Lol the long pause and smile 1:04:04
Was having the same issue, they are sending me a new motherboard
How long have you had yours?
@chazhaze1580 I'm having same issues and haven't had mine even a month yet and 48 hours of printing on mine 😅
@Sixppathsofpein I fixed mine, it wasn't the motherboard it was actually misaligned on the rails u Der the bed. Once I realigned it, and recalibrate, leveled, and readjusted the Z, after the rail alignment, it printed amazingly!
@@chazhaze3d ima mess with mine and see if that's the issue
@Sixppathsofpein there's a video on it. Let me see if I can link it
Mine wont even make it through the calibration set up, I receive “The module is abnormal. Please calibrate the position of the nozzle and module” The hotend never touches the senor and errors out every time
Looks like I’ll be spending money once again.
@Munikoo this figure might be hard to find at the moment but always possible they'll do a rerelease
@@ShadowMoses112 yes, a lot of them are very expensive and I’m still searching eBay and other sites.
I’m having this issue with a large print, could be my tension of my belts, I’m not sure what’s the perfect tension ? How would I know if it’s tight to the Max ?
@J.l198 good question their manual says hand tighten til it can go anymore and do one full release backward. Tighten but don't force or over do it.
I have a K2 Max for about 7 months and have a Anycubic Vyper , and have worked thru several issues. I stream all the time if you need some advice . However I also had issues with this i tightened everything . the did a PID calibration then a full Calibration in menu. i also printed a calibration layer to fine adjust and it worked for this issue. I also replaced the plastic X pull gear with a metal one.
Where do you stream on so I can watch your work on the kobra max 2
If you use a k2m for 10 days, you will got 11 issues, and so on
@@SeijuroHiko962 while no printer is without issues. The k2m is a good printer. I won't say great but good. The firmware updates have made this printer better through time. But i agree they hopefully addressed this with the k3
No unless you want to be disappointed. I own 4 of them and regret it. At first I loved it and it was pushing out prints like a champ. And then the layer shift issue appeared and it was the death of the Kobra Max 2 for me. Sad, when it did work it was my favourite printer
I have 4 of these machines all with the same issue. At the beginning it was good and then the layer shift issue appeared eventually affecting all my machines even the newer one out of the 4 that I own. I would not buy it again and it has been extremely frustrating and disappointing. Obviously this machine was rushed out to market without enough research and development because of all the hype with the fast printing Bambi labs printers. I still print on the original Kobra max with no major issues. The Kobra max 2 seems like a dud.
at least CS understands and as long as you continue communication will work with you . these printers are crazy but easy to fix. sad that the auto lvling software. the manufacturing i wish would change and get someone to make parts that dont fail lol
I have 4 of these Kobra max 2 machines all with same issue. I am not sure how to fix it. I own 2 older Anycubic Kobra max original versions which work fine. I don’t think I would buy any large format printers from Anycubic in the future if this can’t be fixed.
@digitalbase9396 whats crazy is, IMO, as simple as a firmware update. To lower the heat or power of whatever is blowing out. I noticed the slicer with its latest update added a slower quality function and since i sell original models i prefer it. Its still fast. I ended up getting a refund for this printer and buying a new one. I also had the kobra max and the 2 was a huge improvement over the 1. Although th k2m doesnt seem to be able to be a designated work horse the Kobra3 seems VERY promising and interested to see if they do a max of that . I wouldnt count them out just yet. I replaced me k2m with 2 k2ms in case i have another con and need to offload some of the work but I don't see these lasting beyond a year or 2
Did you ever get this issue fixed. I was able to come up with a permanent solution and fixed mine after 3 days of frustration. I’m just seeing what everyone else was doing. I can say it’s not the belt tension, gears, steppers or wheels for sure…well at least for what’s plagued these issues. Fortunately I was able to use laser lights and some UV ink to identify what my issue was and once I made a procedure for it, I have done 17 prints at all speeds and it never happened again.
@pilot3729 i ended up getting a refund and sending it back. I assumed it was a board issue. Something over heated and burnt out as i was constantly using the machine in prep for a comic convention. The new kobra 2 max hasnt given me any issues yet.
After a couple of messages with Anycubic, they sent me a new Y axis motor and a new motherboard. My printer is at 17 hours of a 32 hours print, no more skipping, where I had random 10mm+ shifts on the Y axis
@Psychokiller1888 yeah I figured it was the board. I swapped the y axis motor, slowed down the print, tightened and recalibrated all the moving parts for the y axis. Anycubic offered me a motherboard and didn't send it with the motor. Ended up getting a refund and buying another
I found a solution for my one .. check the cooling fans .. in my case i removed them now and put a bigger and stronger one in both parts - the PSU and the mainboard fan .. now the problem is gone .. there was not much dust , but the cooling seems to be the problem in my case .. i tested afterwards too - after 20 seconds whenever i reduced the speed with my newer fans the magic layer shift started ..
Whose fans were you using and where did you get them? And did you change the fan on the hot end? Also
This is currently sale, so glad I watched your review before purchasing.
Han Solo show????? You mean Obi-Wan
*adjusts glasses* Sure!
I leave for ONE Day and it's Kaiju and Ghost Busters. 🤣🤣
When you come back, it'll be Kaiju, Ghostbusters and Anime tits! :D
I have them idw turtles and idw shredder as well as tokka and razar definitely worth it
Let's go

how did you get that figures
Big Bad Toy Store Has them 21.99
Also available on amazon
The legends figure arms has deeper bends you just weren't using both joints , you can get the glove to touch the bicep
Definitely a good figure
when I had layer shift on mine which was huge the problem was the brackets at the top of the Z axis on both sides. They should be at 90 degrees to the gantry but they were slightly loose and so they turned slightly inward. That seemed to make the Z axis canted just slightly which was enough that the head would eventually hit the print because it wasn't climbing as much vertically as it was on the Z screws since they were canted and that was what was throwing it off. I made sure the brackets were aligned properly and tightened them down and it solved that problem completely for me
I suffered increasing Y axis shift until the Y axis completely died during a print. Drive IC bit it and motor was painfully hot. Checked vref and it was WAY too high. Got a replacement board and checked the vreg and it too was WAY too high. All vref were set to high. Reset all and layer shift was better but still there and worse at higher speeds. Began investigating acceleration and jerk and found the default of 2000mms was too high. Dropped to 900 and shifting was GONE. Set jerk to 10 and acceleration to 1000 and hard set in the eeprom and now have over 4kg through it without so much as a single layer shift. Can print at 150mms and get perfect prints every time. I HIGHLY advise lowering acceleration to 900 to test, especially on a max, since the larger bed means a much greater mass for the motor to move and stop.
I fought Y axis shift on my kobra 2 (marlin version) for months until the Y driver bit it. I found the vref was set stupid high. After the board was replaced Y motor was so hot it hurt to touch it and skipped steps aplenty. Set vref properly and skipped steps were less but still too much Y axis shift to accept. I tested with various speeds and found that every time I went over 40mms the Y axis would shift and anything over 80mms was a guaranteed failed print. This led me into acceleration and jerk. I dropped acceleration to 900mms and jerk to 10 and instantly all layer shifts stopped. I can print at 150mms with no problems and have almost 4kg through the printer since I made this change without a single layer shift. Seeing that the max has to move a significantly larger amount of mass (ie much larger bed) I suspect acceleration is a contributing factor for you. I tested with changing setting in Cura but once I found what solved my problem I hard set them in the eeprom.
Thank you for sharing. My question is why would everything work and suddenly not resulting in slower speeds. I wonder what failed on yours to cause that.
@@ShadowMoses112 The vref on all axis was set so high from factory it wound up burning out the Y driver IC. It was a cumulative issue. The more I printed and the faster speeds I went the hotter it got until it just died in mid print. Anycubic replaced the board for free out of warranty. But the new board also had the vref WAY too high to I set them all properly and now the motors get warm but not hot.
have you secured your printer to a solid surface , you may have issue of the printer just oving itself during the fast prints. also chk your jerk and travel speeds. but big time issue with this printer you need to secure it to a solid surface for fast prints. its not it a case to lock it down
I have the same issue. It run like a dream. so sudden it cuts off
If you're within warranty, i suggest swapping it asap. I believe the mother board to be the issue a burnt out driver, but they never sent one even after I asked.
Any updates on this? Mine is doing the same thing... New printer
Yes, Just ordered Creality Ender S1
I have AnyCubic kobra Neo Works well
I ended up swapping for a new one. I think a new motherboard would have worked but it was never offered even after I asked. The common issue im hearing is that working it hard for x hours sounds like it blows something out. 😑 i hope the kobra 3 uses quality products moving forward
I got same figure. Same left arm broke off aswell
I hit up 5k still waiting
@@ShadowMoses112 I'd recommend you to get these imports from elsewhere such as Gundamit, Bombusbee, or ShowZStore. Hell even HLJ and Japanese retailers are starting to sell these non Japanese IP figures. 5k is notorious for not getting back to people in a proper timely manner and their prices are kind of wild but that's what happens when you're the most well known import store.
I have the same issue with my Kobra 2 Max. It started after about 100 hrs of printing and I wan't able to resolve it yet. Anycubic just sent me a new PCB, but that didn't help. Looking through the comments of your videos and other videos about the same issue, where people replaced motors, hotends, etc, I wonder if there is a solution at all.
Mine's about 2 weeks old. Its reached about a hundred hours too and started doing _absolutely massive_ layer shifts on the y axis. Im about ready to return the damn thing...
I'd exchange it. Apparently, the issue is hit or miss. The printer is great when it's working. Im worried we may prep for another con where i need to use it heavily and it'll crap out again.
Same here, bit under 100 hours, massive 15mm Y axis shifts at random heights. I completly dismantled everything today, rebuilt the entire Y axis, calibrated, it pri Ted up to 70 mm OK then shifted like crap. I about the throw it out the window
I had the same thing happen (owned the machine 1 month). Was hearing noises from the Y motor as well. I think it was slipping, causing the layer shift in the same direction as you. They are sending me a new motor now. I'll share the results.
The new motor did not work for me. I believe the issue to be mother board related however they never sent one or offered even when i mentioned it. I opted for a refund.
and maybe the same amount of fail prints and lost hair XD... plz let me know if u get a soluten from the support ... i also started a ticket <3
If you're within your exchange period. Skip the support and swap it out imo. Otherwise try to see if a return is on the table. I didn't find the new motor helping my issue at all.
hey dude i have the same problem here ... 🤣
The back and forth didn't get resolved. I ended up returning the printer for a refund. I think the issue was a mother board but support had me going in circles with tightening eccentric nuts.
😠 'Promo SM'
That is a shame. I've the previous 1/12 verycool releases: Campus Gun Girl, Villa, and Assassin, and yeah they are fragile, but havent broke on me. Have you attempted any kind of repair to her?
Yes i tried superglue first then resin. Inrealize the cavity holding the joint is extremely thin
❤
I cancelled my Anakin on amazon because I found M Bison at target and only had enough for one! Regardless I still want this Anakin if not only to complete my episode one cast!
Same which is why i picked it up but seriously overpriced
Yeah about the only smaller character that's worth it is the new r2 which I've yet to find, I've had the rotj r2 preordered at BBTS for what feels like a year!
