This is a highlight of the colorful finale at the King's Point Tattoo of Beating Retreat. The USMMA band combine with the Nassau Police Pipe band to play Amazing Grace and Grand Old Flag which brings on the Star Spangled Brigade of the Academy. This ceremony put together each year by DoM Ken Force combines the best of British and US military music traditions in a show quite unique of its kind. Hopefully it will continue after Ken retires someday. He has lead the band almost 40 years!

Great to see this from last year. I was sitting in the front row VIP section as part of the International Military Music Society/ US branch. This Beat Retreat combines a British tradition with American patriotic sentiments. The USMMA band is drilled in the style of the UK Royal Marine bands. Ken Force, who has directed the Academy band for almost 40 years is a living legend of martial music. Hopefully this ceremony will continue after he retires. Get some more highlights this year!

Very impressive! A big band and a big sound. And a good group of guys to hang with after massed bands. I look forward to going up against you folks next year. Best of luck.
