After watching so many videos on what is the difference between an MD and DO, this is by far the best explanation and as a visual learner, helped even more.

DO = medical degree that people who couldn't go to MD route get.
Tell me what an MD can do that a DO can’t. This type of superiority complex only exists in the premed world and won’t get you far in medicine.
@@tonydinh21 no one goes to DO over MD. Just admit. DOs suffer from inferiority complex. Of course DOs skill sets are similar to MDs because they are taught the same thing. That's not even what I am talking about here. Just because two groups have the same skill set, doesn't mean they are the same.
@@dragonfly8485 “no one goes DO over MD.” That’s not remotely true and it just shows your incorrect predisposed imagination of one being better than the other. Fact of the matter is there are 100 more allopathic schools compared to osteopathic’s so obviously the exposure and perceived prestige is skewed towards MDs. But when it comes to in real life work place there really isn’t much of a difference if any. I’ve worked with MDs primary care physicians who answer to DOs specialists in cardiology, neurology, oncology, etc and they’ve never displayed that holier than thou attitude. You have applicants in this cycle with 509+ MCAT scores who would be over the moon to get accepted into DO schools.
@@dragonfly8485 I get that you prefer one over the other but don’t put down a profession based on outdated thinking and preconceived notions. It’s insulting to medicine and it deters people from choosing this profession when there’s a real shortage as it is.
@@tonydinh21 Couldn't have said it any better. You get what medicine is, this dragonfly does not. I appreciate your explanation and yes correct, these premeds don't know a damn thing and its bittersweet they are apart of the future of medicine. Maybe a bit of seasoning will do however, sheesh the world we live in. I appreciate and believe in the DOs of the world for the holistic efforts, Tony I appreciate you - coming from a premed/prepa student. (Not all of us are as stubborn as that majority :))
