Removing Engraving with a 100w MOPA Laser
In todays video I delve into a very little known trade secret of how to remove engraving from an item. This video will probably get me into a huge amount of trouble from the laser specialist out there!!

Laser foaming Isolator switch
มุมมอง 139 หลายเดือนก่อน
🆒Permanently marking isolator switches (Love it when customers know I'm right 😁) This is a process known as "Laser Foaming". Laser foaming creates small gas bubbles under the surface without vaporising the material. This creates a high contrast permanent surface mark without damaging the material.

Cut settings? Power and speed?
Thank you for the video. Very interesting. How did you fill the brass plate?
We put paint in, wipe off the excess and polish the plate when it's dry.
Very good idea for an April 1st joke :-)
Amazing for a birthday gift🎉
Crap music. Why bother?
Crap comment. Why bother?
How long did it take and what is the thickness of the aluminum? Thank you!
Took around 5 minutes, 0.5mm thick 👍
Thank you! It really looks great! I would love to see more.
I do plan on uploading a bit more often, I forget half the time 🤦♂🤦♂@@butterflyj685
JPT? JPT MOPA ?
Non MOPA for these, they're done on our little 20w
You could have worn your sequin jump suit for that....
It was at the cleaners 😔😬
What paint did you use?
Selemix Direct to metal. We also use enamel depending on the job
@@javiklaserltd Thanks checking it out now. I have a Onefinity Foreman and wanting to move into a bit of brass and aluminum.
Bloody Awesome
I highly doubt that switch producer will hold valid certificate after such marking
Why? it's marked in the same way by the manufacturer. Laser marking is non destructive.

amazing
Many people put their 'whoops' on TH-cam as if it is a badge of courage. I look at it as not paying attention to detail, safety, and being irresponsible.
I feel the same, disabling or overriding safety switches is a big no no from us, and as can be seen in the video, lasers can do significant damage. Hopefully the video will show people why you need to be paying attention around any laser and have some safety procedures in place to prevent it from happening.
I got to be around a terawatt laser, yes terawatt, actually multiple terawatt. The edge of my shirt caught part of the beam. poof! instant smoke.
😯
The idea that someone can physically even be close enough to the beam of such a laser is terrifying in itself. 😬
I know what happens when you stick your finger in a 40w beam (forgot about the mirror line) hate to think what it could’ve been with a 120w
🤣
When cutting through the acrylic at the beginning, what were those flashes that would happen occasionally?
That's flash back from the steel laser bed underneath the acrylic.
@@javiklaserltd awesome, thank you! Is that something to be concerned about for more precise prints? Will it burn the piece, or is it just an optical flash that is otherwise harmless?
@@anubisarmory3147 in most cases it's unnoticeable, you can stop it from happening altogether by raising the acrylic slightly off the bed, we use sacrificial acrylic spacers to do that. .
"No, Mr Bond, I expect you to die!"
Great
What make and size is that application tape? Certainly done a grand job there for your client.
I'm not sure of the make, we buy it from a sign company, we get it in 300mm wide rolls. Thank you!
Amazing video
Glad you think so!
Great Work😍😍😍
Thanks 🔥
