I won't comment on the performance, just the actual form. It's a bit pants isn't it. There are no 'Skillful' movements in the form, just basic waving the knives about, oh and more than a few completely pointless movements that have nothing to do with the Wu Dip Dao. Not really sure why Hung Kuen has such a big rep when this is just not a very good form.
Please pardon me, but honestly, what do you expect? Are you looking for flips and knife tossing? The form is designed to teach basic attack and defense movements to people who have never touched a weapon. Of course, the form is mostly "waving the knives around." Waving is a basic innate human movement so making a weapon form based on an innate move is not a bad idea. That basic movement can kill 95% of people because those 95% of people cannot defend against a person waving a knife, let alone two. As for the "useless" moves, not every single move in a form is directly applicable to actual killing. Some moves teach dexterity, others build forearm strength when used with heavy knives. It's okay to not know a meaning of a move, I sure as hell do not know them all, but to discredit a whole style's approach to teaching is silly. If it didn't have value, millions of people wouldn't train it. It's a good form for what it is designed to do, and that's to kill people. This guy could kill us, or at least make us nervous, with techniques from this form. It's a good form.
