Is better than i9 14900k? I can buy i9 for 450€ and snipe (if I'm lucky) R7 8900x3d for 530€
X3D CPUs are better for games, especially for MMOs. i9 14900k is a better choice if you use PC for working with demanding applications. You will need an expensive liquid cooler for 14900k, while with 9800X3D you will be fine with a cheaper and more reliable air cooler.
The 14900K performs better in raid situations with higher lows, and more consistent frame rates.
false, wow can barely use 8 cores so 9800X3D is bis CPU for WoW right now
I just cap my FPS at 100 for the whole game, gets maybe 95-100fps with vsync on or off in Dorn. Butter smooth. That's on a 4070ti, so, not sure the game can do much better on better hardware (since I have the same FPS, but you have the better card). Thanks for doing the test.

My 7900XT/7800X3d comes within 10fps of this most of the time. Really wish WoW was better optimized.
Addons are the cause of the problem... Elvui for example causes FPS to drop in raid.

how do u get 120+ fps in valdrakken. i cant get 60 with 5800x3d + 4090. graphic setting all max.. 1440p ultrawide on the aw3821dw monitor. Standing on the stairs facing the fountain..
I also have a 4090 and a 5900X using PBO2 to 200W, FSB is set to 1900MHz and Memory is sync to 3800MHz using T1 CL16, rock solid, but Valdrakken falls to 48FPS Temps never go above 60-65C. I'm looking forward to upgrade to at least 80fps in a crowded city, but 9800X3D will launch only in 2025 for the info circulating nowadays. Now, to go for a 7800X3D and an old B650 MOBO plus DDR5-6000 is still expensive if only gaining 30% FPS.

I cannot tell but I gather this is palying at 1080P resolution or maye 1440? That FPS is far too high for max graphics in Valdrakken, I have a 7800X3D and 3080 and also a 4070ti and am nowhere near 100fps in Val at 4K.

Wow, the 5800X3D is a $400 CAD upgrade for me but the 7800X3D is gonna be > $1000 CAD. I'l upgrade a couple of years down the line but I'm happy with the price to performance ratio of the 5800X3D so far.

If you earn money well, then in principle there is no problem. In any case, the am4 is the latest generation and if you look exclusively at wow, yes it lasts for a long time. But in the future, you will have to change the computer in fact completely. On am5, I assume 9800x3d will be cheaper and it will be more profitable to buy it and it will be a little better especially in overclocking than 7800x3d, this is my assumption. And for future 5800x3d games it will work, but I would already consider a fresher socket
