Fascinating!!! 🍂
It looks like a whale tale around the 11 minute mark but love the end product
What is the thickness of the leather you are using, please ?
Blud you didnt make an ancient book💀
Nice close ups
Perfect. Love LOTR Gandalf vs Balrog playing in the background 😂
Start with the definition of ancient
Awesome video!! Great work all around!
Thank you!
Oh I want one!!
Thank you so much for your design…love the process of making a mold.

It the LotR background that did it for me.
Looks like the gambrel paid off 😂🤣😑 Cool vid, bro 👍💪
Hermoso trabajo muy concentrado eso es bueno .lindo bolsito, hermoso . Gracias desde Cali valle Colombia 🇨🇴👍
Gorgeous!
Lovely work!
Everything I have seen Sam McCune, make is amazing. He is one of the best, creative, and careful craftsmen I know.
Fun announcement looks cool!
Do you find that the rebar steel holds a good edge? It looks like a great option with the cost of other steels
I do find it holds a pretty good edge, I'll be it a bit softer then really expensive steel but I've not found it to be a problem, takes just a second to resharpen it and it cut's unbelievably well.
Very good job! I use a pricking iron on my stitching holes. the drawback is I have to count the number of holes on the front and back to stitch the gusset in. I have used a fold over belt loop, but I may start using the flat style. If you use the fold over positioning, stitching the first row and then folding it over is easy to get it wrong. I have been playing with leather since the 70's. Your pouch is excellent. That should last someone almost a lifetime. I look forward to seeing some of your other work.
Thank you 🙏 yeah I never can get them lined up great if I don't go hole by hole with the iron. Someday I'll be good enough to make a pattern I can punch and it'll line up ✌️ thanks for stopping by -Sam
Love that game.
I made this belt pouch but I need to make it again because I modified the gusset with vegetable tan leather.
man is casually enjoying the fellowship in the backround
Pretty thanks you
Nice one I was wondering if I could use rebar for tools now I know I can thanks for the video
This by far one of the prettiest things you have ever made
I like the pace of this video and the opening song is awesome. Also that is a beautiful sheath color
Curious if you have a pattern made yet

@@darklakeforge3300 hey thanks
Bump it up about 50% larger and it would be a great sporran.
Great idea! 🙌
Hello, I liked your work. I wanted to ask where you found this big lether pieceand how expensive it was.
Hey Oliver, i found this leather at Tandy leather company, it's called oil tanned Kodiak. and i believe i paid about 80 dollars for a fairly large piece of it.
Just followed you because of this video! Any chance that we could get the pattern you use? You could sell it on your Etsy shop, hehe
I will have to look into how to do that I'm sure I could get it on there thanks for watching and the comment! Have a wonderful day!
@Gaela i have a pattern available now! www.etsy.com/listing/1141491382/belt-pouch-pdf-pattern-digital-download?click_key=74035241c2784fcc3dceecfaeb40b71719d34ce7%3A1141491382&click_sum=ab2fea70&ref=shop_home_active_1
@@darklakeforge3300 Amazing! Thank you so much
I love that lotr is just playing in the background, it makes the video all that much better
Haha I'm a bit of a nerd for lotr and so the movies are on quite frequently 😊 thanks for watching!
for a second it looked like a hippo! love the end result though!
Beautifully made! How thick is the leather you are using?
I used some 5-6oz oil tanned Kodiak from Tandy. And thanks! 🙌
@@darklakeforge3300 I see, thanks! Just another question: is there a reason why you stitched the back panel and the lid together, instead of making it from one piece?
@@sasker1000 you know i think the reason was i was using some scrap pieces from when i made a run of wallets so i wouldn't use a lot of the hide i have. It would be easier and probably be nicer to use a single piece though. when i create the pattern for download i will probably include the pattern for both ways of doing it. it will save some steps and sewing for anyone who has a big enough piece of leather.
@@darklakeforge3300 That makes sense. I am going to make something similar as my first ever leather project. Your video is a great inspiration to get started. Thanks for sharing!
@@sasker1000 i'm so glad to hear that! thanks for watching and i would love to see some pictures of your project once it's done! my email is DarkLakeForge@gmail.com Happy crafting!
that looks cool

is there any pdf file i can download with the design of the pouch?
Not currently but I'll start working on the pattern after Christmas! I'll try to pin a comment and reply when it's up 👍

Hey mate just wondering how measured out your templates?
I actually just drew up a pattern based off some images and one trial bag I made of scrap. I'll see if I can create a pdf pattern and get a link up.
