Normal punches get energy from torsion. The overhand gets it from bending which is way slower and your footwork suffers. After a normal punch youre going to be ready for another punch or to block or sidestep but your hand is above your head, how are you going block? Doesnt matter if your opponents on the floor and and big toolbelt is great.
