Independent Living - The Funk Volume Documentary
This feature-length documentary captures the swift rise of hip hop record label Funk Volume during their Funk Volume 2012 tour in which rappers Hopsin, Dizzy Wright, Jarren Benton, and SwizZz and label co-founder Damien Ritter toured 44 cities in 50 dates. For the first time, Funk Volume pulls back the curtain on the philosophy, non-traditional tactics and challenges they've embraced to become one of the most successful independent labels today clocking in over 1.6 billion TH-cam views, 1.9 million Facebook Likes, regularly charting in the Top 10 in Billboard and on iTunes, and earning press hits from media outlets such as Forbes, Billboard, SPIN, and more.
For fans of the artists, this well photographed movie will provide an intimate look at their lives but even those unfamiliar will be drawn into the underlying story of witnessing these artists at a crucial transition phase as they become more comfortable with the pros and cons of stepping further into the limelight.

A great group. Cool to watch this 10 years later. Hopsin still killin’ it.
1:04:58 yo that piano is hittin hard anyone know if that’s a sample from anything?
The first thing Hopsin does in in this video is complain about minuscule shit.
I thank god everyday that when i went through my underground phase that it was funk volume strange music ect and not tom macdonald
The good old days. I genuinely miss Funk Volume.
I miss the gold old days when my dad moe-lested me.

So wild watching this now and seeing Damian after Ill Mind of Hopsin 8.
Good times, glad the Funk Volume crew is still doing they own thing & Hopsin is still dropping heat 💯
R.I.P Funk Volume

I find myself returning to this documentary and studying these guys as not only upcoming hip hop artists but as business men aswell. Respect to the team that influences me to this day! FV!

Hopsin is the (undercover prodigy) And dizzy is (still movin)
Whens the piano cyphet
Undercover prodigy now
Funk volume was great but hopsin is great on his own
No matter what happen this group was one of my favorite groups back when they were all together
Feel like dizzy and damian were just lifting on hopsins cash
u got a point 90% of the people at the concerts were there to see hopsin that's probably why he left🤷♂️ but dizzy was the best artist to me personally💯 & as far as dame i think he's a good manager hopsin doesn't get as far as he does w/o him & had he stayed the sky was really the limit for that label
Lol what? Dizzy was puttin in hella work and making his own money with no problem. I saw him a couple times without the rest of fv and his shows were just as packed
Rip mac mill n rip funk vol :(
