It's funny cuz I grew up in a "bad" neighborhood too and I never realized until recently how bad it was. Like sure we had that house down the street that was "abandoned" but was really just a drug operation that nobody messed with and yeah my friends windows got shot out in a drive by shooting, but like that's just normal right? No, no it is not. Anyway great video, I love your style and script. You earned my sub!

Anime is a bit...finicky Lemme explain So anime is just a big umbrella term for Japanese Animation. It can range from hamataro to fieren and everything in between. Anime is basically cartoons. That's like saying you're going to not let your kids watch cn because of adult swim. They don't go together! There are so many age appropriate anime, hello kitty, precure, pokemon, and yeah some anime ain't for children, but for teens instead.

I can understand wanting to protect your future kids. Parents these days seem to just let tablets and phones babysit their kids instead of actually taking care of the kids themselves, and it's refreshing to see someone wanting to actually be a good and caring parent. But why not let them watch kid-friendly anime like Hello Kitty series, Onegai My Melody, Hamtaro, etc. instead of completely banning them from anime? Completely banning them from anime will just cause them to watch anime for older audiences behind your back.

Since I was told it was bad (forgot who said it, but it was always lingering in my mind) So until one day,( 2022) I decided to watch some, (that being Mha, which I did get bored if it- mainly due to that purple grape,) and then I saw Tbhk and read Bsd. Whose stories and art were amazing! (Even inspired my art style)And it wasn’t inappropriate or too cringy (as in those tropes, which no hate but eh 🤷‍♀️) although there was definitely deaths and a bit messed up characters, but in short. Of course there’s some weird anime, but others are alright (depending on the age), and some may even inspire ppl to write/draw their own stories. I’d say tell them to avoid any weird ones

This is the straight way of making your kids misguided and resentful and thus making them seek the forbidden part of anime you want to hide so desperate, how do I Know??? Is was that kid that were told anime was bad and it was banned in our family, so i seek anime in magazines, at ciber cafes, on the school computers and i ended up in the bad part of the internet because of this, is that foolish behavior of hiding the sun behind your finger, instead of teaching your children that bad things exist so they trust you this information without feeling judged and alone

Listen, it is understandable why you would never let your kids watch anime. But at the same time, if you don't let them watch something, they are going to go behind your back and watch it anyway because they're curious. Then, they might run into the wrong type of anime. That's why I suggest a 100% family-oriented anime list, including animated movies like Spirited Away, Ponyo, Howl's Moving Castle, and Castle in the Sky. There are many others from that company. For TV shows, there are options like Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Beyblade, Sailor Moon, Glitter Force, and Doraemon. Maybe Assassination Classroom, depending on how old your kids are. The point is, there are many options for just normal anime that do not have adult content or a lot of adult jokes.

Not even gonna watch the video, there are plenty of anime you can watch including the old ones. Kids are not stupid and I guarantee your kids will end up watching anime without you knowing.

Yeah, I also used to copy things I saw in anime in middle/high school. Years later, I was diagnosed as autistic and now it all makes sense in hindsight.

I agree, I can credit anime with some of my weirder teen brainworms. Also I wanted to add a thought: I was raised in a very sheltered household, where my media exposure was very tightly controlled. (I was raised on a lot of black-and-white tv shows and movies. My parents even had a special dvd player that would live-censor movies, which we used for *anything* PG-13. I never saw anything R-rated until I escaped at 18.) What I learned from that experience is that the more restricted something is, the more alluring it becomes, and the more work will go into doing it secretly. And the more you try to crack down on those secrets, the more estranged the relationship becomes. I've lived that experience, and seen it in at least a dozen other families. It honestly works just like abstinence-only vs safe-s3x education. Absolute forbiddance only creates unregulated and unsafe secret avenues, while full education and proper guidance creates safer and more open ones. If your goal is to prevent your kids from becoming complete social aliens who unironically identify as Otakus, I'd recommend a more moderated approach, where maybe anime is something they can watch after a certain age, deliberately starting them out on a few of the best-written and least-whack shows, and teaching them to examine it critically. If you can teach them enough media literacy to recognize the "wtf???" aspects of anime before/while they start watching it, then they’ll be able to examine it critically and separate the gold from the garbage. That's also just true of all media, not just anime. And teaching kids a critical eye is probably one of the single most powerful ways to set them up for adulthood. I can't watch most anime anymore, because I grew to recognize and critically examine the ways it portrays women, and I can't fucking stand it. The only animes I can truly recommend anymore are Fullmetal Alchemist (which has one of the best gold-to-garbage ratios I've ever seen, and was my first intro to actual philosophy), and Madoka Magica (the only anime I know that doesn't get weirdly horny or fetishistic but is also NOT FOR KIDS). I consider both of them to be gold standards of female characters in anime, and also just masterpieces as shows (I'm sure those are unrelated). A friend, who shares my problems with anime, has also just recommended Frieren highly enough that its now on my *Actual* Watch List. Idk how necessary this whole comment was, idk exactly how literal vs hyperbolic your video was. But thanks for reading it. Also I really like the crisp simplicity of this artstyle. The way you draw your character is very compelling.

oh my god this is so cute (and relatable). I barely have crushes (my first one was at 16 lmao, i was happy for a whole 16 years), but the 2 times i've had them, the feelings would actually be kinda intense (im ace, so never like that; but the shaky legs, butterflies in my stomach were there). i just started uni and this guy who made friends with me is so nice and i realised i started to have a crush on him bcs when i saw him yesterday, i could feel my heart rate increasing and my legs shake, and my throat burn, and oh my god i hate it so much, you dont even understand. i want to get rid of it cuz he probably doesn't like me and it's genuinly annoying anyways, thank you if u read this dumb rant, but i needed to tell smone cuz its too embarrasing to tell my friends... also loved this animation, please keep making these storytimes :D
