It's quite interesting that they still use the old technology 20 years later after the introduction of computer control technology
It gets even weirder - not only was this a 30-40 year old design when it went in, it's a 30-40 year old /Westinghouse/ design... and Westinghouse had sold their elevator division to Schindler 8 years before this one was even put in.

@@JOESLIFTS1290 The button lamps acted as an indicator, but those lamps have burnt out. So there isn’t an indicator in this lift anymore…

2:10 - these elevator is not the worst.. the worst one is the Parkson one with the firemen lift next to it. You can only go from B1, G, 1, 2. Only.
I rate 7/10 for the epicness. It was an interesting find also.
@@AkmalPROMVP It is indeed epic, But after that jolt after it reaches the floor, Its a life or death experience, will the door open? And also, a friend of mine reported that apparently the lift got jammed momentarily after I filmed it.
@@ascendio-lift-enthusiast the jolt was normal on these older lifts especially with 2 speed leveling. But the condition is indeed bad.

I’ve safety broken a NEXIEZ MRL at my local church and it was close to levelling. I then broke it (lol) I then went again next week and then safety break it without breaking it. I did it from the outside

Same goes for me last year at Tanglin Mall. Bro, Idk how many tines must people say that Lift filming is not a crime. Plus, most malls are like some form of tourist attractions to come shopping.
This is not even a condominum at mall, if private property, there would've been a sign that says, "Private Property, No Trespassing."
@@caja1491exactly. At least I didn’t get in much trouble. The guard asked me to delete it and then he let me go, but I guess he didn’t know I could simply recover it.
@@ascendio-lift-enthusiast Yeah, but nobody was in the lift with you. Most people would ask to delete as maybe their face appear in the video and they are just simply not comfortable with it. Same goes for filming an MRT Train. In America, once caught filming, they usually ask to exit (leave) the building property.

This is actually an office building (Galaxis West Tower.) you can access the floors by filling out a visitor registration form. You just enter name, phone number, floor you’re visiting, and the system will SMS you a QR code to scan at the lift reader.
Notice: Please do not attempt to do anything I have done in this video without building management permission.
