Just swishing it around in some water isn't going to cut it.
If you see water, there's a leak
Wow! I thought this was going to be too technical and over my head. I’m a beginner at lawn care. This was easy to understand and gave me some great principles to move forward with. Like - you should water deep and infrequent.
If I drop pre-emergent earlier than mid to late February will that still work? I feel like dropping it just at the right time is to extend the life of the product on our yards?
It will depend on timing AND soil temperature. If you apply it too early it may lose effectiveness.
Cool project.
Thank you for keep the water safe
Where will the jetty be located?
North side of the lake and east of Hwy 34.
So for example if I’m watering 10 minutes per area 4 times a week, I should simply water 20 minutes 2 times per week?
That's my question too. Great explanation, but one of the most important pieces of information is how long do you water to get it that deep? Hopefully they'll answer.
@@jenniferallen8699 I did just that, doubled the amount and cut from 2 to 4 days, and also started mulching instead of bagging. So far so good.
no you should water .5" per watering 2x a week or once every 3 days
catch cup to measure .5" per watering@@jenniferallen8699
@@DirtygardenCA Okay, but how long does it take for it to get half an inch deep into your lawn? I'm looking for the amount of time to water. And is that deep enough to create good roots like the video says?
Good advice for secks too. Deep and infrequent.
Very good information. I follow this method with great success.
Just makes sense 😊
I hear an irrigator can install a Backflow but you can not test it or repair it that’s the responsibility of the BPAT
Dont forget to cover up one of the few places in Texas to find ancient fossils.
Seems like a great video but I couldn't stnad to watch it becuase of the quality of the sound and the wind interference.
Breda rodbusters 🦾🦅🦅
Except it is getting ready to be flooded after the dam you are building is complete.
Shame you're gonna bury the best stretch of river for fossils under 40 feet of water, innit?
Just stop selling the water to large corporations for bottling. Seems like a better option.
Great information here. Thank you for sharing!
Excellent explanation! You did a great job explaining. And love that this video is NOT an hour long
2-6 am.

It's amazing and frustrating that they keep building lakes (Bois D'arc, Ralph Hall) around the DFW area, but nothing is being built for Houston. Houston is the 4th largest city in the country and growing at an astronomical rate. Yet, nothing is being done to assist in the increasing demands for water.
Very informative and the presenter is top notch communicator and knows her subject well. I recommend anyone with a yard they care about in north Texas watch this video. Well worth the time.
I was wondering what is in that box right after the meter. It probably is the double check back flow device. Thank you.
Nice video! I'd like to add that the sprinkler head could leak when the filter is blocked by soil. I'm troubleshooting several leaks in my system.
Great point!
Thank you Larry for keeping the momentum going after so many years under the leadership of Tom Taylor. Things are looking great and the progress has been exciting to watch. .
Very well done. Larry Patterson has lead the effort and done a great job.
MIs-typed. The pbb back flow preventer in the back YARD is for the pool. Thank you and hope you respond. It has been a nightmare.
You should check with your city's public works or code enforcement office. Each city may have different regulations so checking with the city first is the best way to go. If they cannot help you, contact a licensed irrigator to see if it is possible. Sorry I couldn't help more.
Great video… I have a pbb back flow preventer in the back you and in the front I have a main valve and this is on my irragation system. The neighbor has had a leak for years and won’t fix it. My valve sits in water and now is not giving positive shut off. I want to install a new valve but put it above the ground. My question is this: Can I remove the main shut off valve for the irragation system and replace it with the pbb back flow preventer and use those valves to shut the system off?
