I will tell you that the music defintely didn't go unnoticed in my household. Been blasting that Soundtrack of S1 and S2 on loop for days on end.

i feel the ending of season one is the best use of music.

As the characters story arcs fell flat for me personally I find myself thinking that it is music that makes this show incredible since the beginning. I don't even love all of the music, but like you say the music captures the story as a device separate from characters, plot, symbolism, etc. Awesome video!!

Turning off voice chat is essential in games for me. I can’t wait for the day we activate our neural link to our thoughts and it’s put into text in the language you speak. That’s step one of becoming a one race species…. Scary stuff

Straight forward answer is that we’re connected to Western Europe servers and for British gamers the total average amount of English speakers isn’t going to be playing while America Canada and Australia are in the middle of their school/work days, evening travels or just straight up it’s too late. European servers are not ideal for English speakers. Unfortunately it costs wayyy too much to do something like you suggested. Even if you made server hubs in the largest cities of each continent. You’re talking about hundreds of millions of quid in maintenance, staff expenses, software engineering and eventual replacement of operational equipment. I know it’s annoying but there’s a few solutions. In game guild systems are perfect. Take a note from WoW. You need highly monitored communication systems and verified legitimate players. Not many games have that, but overwatch, CS and valorant definitely need it.

Most of the time, competitive sports players shouldn’t/can’t be functioning on stress, so they are cut from the sport by their managers. That’s what’s happened here, we don’t have managers to pull us aside and explain the game and how we aren’t suited for it. We’ve been told we can play against others for reputation and self worth in what is essentially a war simulator. It is destroying our minds. I still love it though. Videogames are the most addictive and toxic thing ever. Human nature will always mean there’s a nasty environment around art and entertainment. We just seek better and better things, when something is taken or wrongfully promised. Or when we fall into our own shortcomings. These games become anger inducing garbage. I don’t know if I would feel this way if I only started gaming in 2024. I’m at the point in my life where im questioning whether this is even a valuable use of my time if it’s stressing and incredibly inconsequential. Franchises, MMO’s/RPGs and indies games are on fire right now. Stardew valley, God of war, Warhammer, soulslikes, even WoW is on the rise. This is a low for multiplayer. But we’re getting some of the best content in years.

The issue is not as huge as people make it out to be I think. We’ve had worse chapters in gaming for sure. Shortly after the time EA Ubisoft and blizzard released their biggest games, during the entire pandemic it was microtransaction hell and absolutely no new games/updates. Today’s issue is market saturation, high demand, decreasing budget causing lay offs. It won’t be fixed. This is just the state of gaming until the next big game revolutionised the industry. I think we have another 18 months of this crap. Which to me is tolerable. Professional players just have to work 5 times harder right now at least they’re paid stupid amounts and get hella promotion, the pain is in the regular competitive players who are always going to find something to criticise which does slowly move the needle…. But casual players don’t really notice a difference. The average silver player won’t understand what balancing is. That’s why these games still perform so well with the higher ranked players actively leaving for weeks on end. Gaming sucks in 2024 depending on your skill, your age, the amount you play, how many other commitments you have. I’m plat healer/gold tank in overwatch. Im not getting fed up of it even with the state of the balancing and cheesey strats. I for sure rage like fuck when I get flanked and my abilities disabled by a sombra. Or being spawn camped because somehow overwatch doesn’t have a detection system for that. I just miss the days where my Queue time was under a minute at all times. Now I’ve gotten to plat, my wait times average 7 minutes. That was a whole ass rant😂
