    This was a high quality video, I just disagree that revenge seeking for being wronged by someone, or having something loved unfairly taken from you is somehow wrong. Just like how in a society sense, there are actual stakes and consequences for failing at things. Even heavier consequences for big boy/girl failures. In order to defend something or a person, you have to have higher ability than your competition. Which can get pretty demanding when you start thinking about specifics.

    • @ZealotPara
      @ZealotPara 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I'm not sure what boy/girl failure means, so I don't fully understand your point but I would like to. Generally what I'm trying to get across in this video is that fighting for what you love is perfectly fine, it's just that people in those situations should be careful to not become so obsessed that they end up becoming bad people themselves. That risks more people coming to harm, and at the very least the protector is harming themselves.

    • @ldogg2488
      @ldogg2488 5 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@ZealotPara What I meant by big boy/girl failures was in general failing to accomplish something while young, (16 years old and lower) has less long-lasting effects. While failing at things when over those ages starts to have heavy results. I understood you expressed your view that people that take on the "protector role", should be careful to not let their experiences taint their (usually good) intentions and methods into something negative. What my comment was expressing was that I disagree with that kind of mind-set. Along with that your video was a high quality product. I disagree with some of your views in this video, but I still think you were cooking up a storm here. I'm sure the internet would love to see more from you.

    The thing about Guts is that the story is slowly building up to the moment he goes against the gods and resist the urge to let the gods take his new family for a empty wish. Guts carries around the same trinket Griffith had before he sacrificed everyone to get his desires granted. I'm not 100% sure but the story seems to already imply Guts wouldn't sacrifice anyone in a way defying his strings of destiny. The gods only appear when you are not only at your lowest but have something of value to offer while you carry around that bloody trinket.

    Love Hunter X Hunter..usually much more of a Seinen/Berserk reader type, but Kurapika from HxH is a VERY fascinating character, one of so many in that work. He's so put together, almost abnormally sober minded and clear headed. If it was written by anyone less skilled, he would seem incoherent in his obsession with revenge. Of course it's pretty easy to empathize with the reason he feels this way, but his personality is that of a pragmatic, grounded, and rational kid who would otherwise likely be at the top of his class at some top tier university. Probably neck n neck with a Light Yagami (sans notebook) type for valedictorian. I guess my point is that he really is NOT blinded by emotions most of the time. Very aware of the repercussions, the sacrifice of his own soul, he chooses revenge and operates with total conscious awareness. Imo this makes him possibly one of the most truly cold blooded characters in all of Shonen manga. Being that it's easy to compare and contrast him with the other amazing characters in his little crew, that's saying quite a lot....Killua, who is hardly a preteen, sees killing someone in the most precise and calculating ways, is slowly humanized more and more as the story develops, where you somehow start to forgive and forget his earlier worldview has him seeing human life as insignificant as an insect on the ground. Yet somehow, these two pass each other going opposite directions in cruelty, pitilessness, and even sadistic tendencies. For much of the story it's easy to see Kurapika as noble and honorable, and his revenge reasonable, but I think that mask starts to slip. The second he gets his license, he starts working with Yakuza as a bodyguard. A position, while being part of the path to getting intel he needs, shows how he has no problem taking life for things completely out of his own concerns. Idk. Hes a scary ass kid lol.

I'd say more but it'll be the longest comment on TH-cam lol. But I guess it all worked out, I've been with my better half for 8 years and she seems to find it important that she can feel safe and protected. Scratches a mental itch for us both I guess. But if someone were to harm her, and one time someone tried (but never tried again and were terrified to be in the same town as her after that 😉) but if they succeeded, I would need to check myself deeply to avoid a "villain arc". I don't know if I could cope. Anyway, your video was fascinating and relatable for at least a certain type of person for sure.

    A lot of this hits close to home, I don't know you or your situation personally, but I've been where I sit and tell myself to enjoy something I know I do, but I can't and I eventually end up almost feeling sick to the stomach and emotionally raw and upset because of my lack. I'll sit there for hours if I'm not careful doing nothing but loathing my own inaction. I can't pretend I've solved it or beaten it, but like you I have made some amount of progress in some areas. You mentioned the idea of returning from life to nothingness was comforting, and I've found similar. If you're willing to read it, I find the book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible to be rather comforting. It talks about how eventually everyone will die, and nothing we leave behind will remain in a few years or centuries. So eat, drink, enjoy your days, and do what is right.

  • @animeechoess
    @animeechoess หลายเดือนก่อน

    Nice and thoughtful video. Some parts in it resonated with me so i want to give my 2 cents. You talked about a state experience where for a while it sounds like you felt complete. I'm not saying my experience was the same experience, but I've had a stretch of a week and a bit where i felt something similar. I realised i was making stories in my head and when i let go of that, i felt this intense sense of peace, but then I was dragged back from that. I wanted to get back to it but it did not return. I feel moments like these come to give us indication of how good life could be if we "let go", but since there's all this other stuff like maybe insecurities, expectation from the world and self, it feels out of reach. I was also meditating when i got that experience, but i've also had other moments where it felt like the whole world just lit up out of nowhere and that didn't come from mediation either. Personally, i think one of the flaws i found was thinking that the meditation was what made it happen. Like a kind of linear thinking, i meditated therefore i reached something BECAUSE of the meditation. But the experience of being at peace has nothing to do with what I "did" if that makes sense, it was letting go, it was just something profound i experienced. This is just from my point of view but i feel like there isn't a reliable method for growing. For one person it could be meditation, or it could be meditation for a little while and then it stops working. I thought it was journaling for me for a little bit but then that turned into a crutch. I think the path to growth and inner peace is pretty erratic and non-linear (kind of like Baccano! story telling). The thing to focus on might be one's expectation from the world or shedding one's need to have attention for their success but still making stuff anyway or it could be one's relationship with one's hobby or even their parents. I personally believe that a persons journey to any inner peace is hard to map intellectually and therefore thinking that one thing like mediation or journaling or anything to be "the" solution eventually becomes maladaptive. Because we work holistically. Because Inner peace isn't just being still, it can also have a lot of movement and intensity too. So I think things only make sense in hindsight a lot of the time. So it could be that meditation no longer working, is actually just an indication there is another section in life that you're supposed to work on and then once mediation is necessary thing again, you'll come back to it. I hope this paragraph, doesn't come off as me presuming what you experienced or things about you, it just something in the video resonated with me and i wanted to see if my own experience could be helpful.

    • @ZealotPara
      @ZealotPara หลายเดือนก่อน

      For what's it worth, your comment actually resonated with me as well. I remembered earlier today the idea of progress not being linear. I usually attributed that to my creative journey but perhaps that applies to my mental health as well. I also considered that maybe meditation isn't the ONLY way to find peace. I still believe there is a ton of value in stillness, but sometimes peace can be found motion and being active (like you said) and following my instincts instead of ALWAYS forcing myself to stop. I think the key thing is to not get drunk on either one and to find a balance. I've noticed lately that if I get frustrated from not getting anything out of meditating, it's okay to try something else and stimulate myself a bit. You're absolutely right about letting go. For a while there I felt like I had absolutely nothing holding me down on earth, but it came back and I feel tethered again in a sort of suffocating way. It's weird, I know it's okay to enjoy things and care but again I think I lack a good balance right now. I think I feel guilty overindulging in activity because doing too much of it in the past made me not even consider stillness and made me afraid of it. But now I think I see that I need to find more value in both instead of thinking one is better than the other. I think it's extra hard for me due to my health condition. It's hard to feel satisfied with what I can achieve because I can do so little... but then that begs the question if I would even be satisfied if I COULD do more. And to be honest, I think not at least not with my mindset, because I did have better health a couple years ago, and I didn't feel satisfied then either. It's funny how this works, because you look at fictional characters and for a lot of them they figure out one of their struggles and then move on and never deal with it again. But for the truly extraordinarily written ones, their progression isn't linear and they fall back into bad habits they thought they overcame. I'm glad I made this video because putting my thoughts out there for others to hear, even if it's just one person has got me more self conscious and thinking about the problem in a different way than before I made the video. And I'm glad you left this comment and that this video made you think, that's my goal with my content (although this one was much more selfish and about me venting).

Noelle Silva's Rise to Confidence Another one where I have to research the manga. I want to cover every step of Noelle's story in Black Clover to hopefully break down her development effectively. I'm much farther along on this, however I am taking a break on it for now. And here's some other ideas I have: The Freedom of Missing Out Wolfgang Grimmer is a Narrative Achievement | Monster The Agonizing Reality of Chrollo Lucilfer Finally Giving Black Clover the Analysis it Always Deserved My Comfort Stories The Universal Truth of Vagabond Short Kings Turned Into Jokes The Horrors and Safety of Loneliness How to Make The Audience Care Immediately Nostalgia Blindness is GOOD, Actually (but also it’s a nuanced topic so watch the video)

    Just wanted to say I possibly got some things wrong about a series or two, or maybe I'm just insecure about my knowledge on these stories. Also here's a section I wrote that I ended up cutting cause it ruined the pacing near the end: In The Legend of Korra, over the course of the second season, Tenzin goes through an arc in which he must learn to not only trust his loved ones to make their own decisions and fight for themselves, but to trust himself as well. For so long he compared himself to his father Aang and as a result he lacked true balance with himself. But once he begins trusting his daughter Jenora and Avatar Korra to make their own decisions that might put them at risk but nevertheless are choices they need to make for one reason or another, he sees the value in allowing those he wishes to protect to fight for themselves. After he’s done that, he becomes more open to tackling his insecurities about himself.

    this video really speaks to me because ive gone through this. im GOING through this. a lot of what you said here is stuff that ive either gone through, or im currently going through. but youre talking about how it feels to be past that, how wonderful and worth it it all is, and to that i have to say: this video has given me hope and motivation to get through my hardships. thank you.

      Woah thank you for letting me know. I never expected anyone to resonate with it like that. I'm glad it helps, and trust that feeling because it'll pay off and you will get past what you're going through. I'm not just saying that, I know from experience that if someone like me can change then I think anyone can. Being aware of it and making an effort to get better is already a massive leap. Make a habit of trusting yourself, it goes a long way. Best wishes 🧡

    Also where did all this rail art come from I haven’t been able to find art of rail anywhere, Claire always just shows up lol

      Off the top of my head I can't remember, but it was multiple sites. I put a little text at the corner of the screen every time a new piece of art showed up in the video, you should be able to look those usernames up and find the sources. If I didn't give any credit then it's official art from the novels.

      Yeah I've been wanting to do one on him ever since I first read the novels (around the time this video came out). His conversation with Isaac is a standout for me.

      @@ZealotPara my favorite moment from him is when him(as shaft) and Ricardo are standing infront of the nebula building and Ricardo gives him a “troubled look” I guess you could say that’s more of a Ricardo moment but him and Ricardo are sort of one in the same, so I count it. It’s just kinda a cool thought of Ricardo looking at this entity that’s they’ve become a part of, so he’s kind of looking at himself from a third person view. Just smth I’ve always found cool
